WE........are......f***ed. Sox need pitching more then they needed Nomar. If Nomar was traded directly to LA Sox could of recieved Perez, Mota, and Greg Miller. But by KW acting like a f***head and trying to steal Nomar under Evans nose we're stuck with him....and screwed out of a pitcher.
-
Sure, stick with the losers (Hangar 18 and company) the whole time and then join us during your convenience. Im sure there will be many photos posted up on WSI to tell the story.

Selig probably realizes the implications if this trade didnt go down....the worst being many pissed off fans. (probably Boston more then anywhere else). Here is the latest from the world of roto: Alex Rodriguez-SS-TEX Sources close to the commissioner's office told the Providence Journal that Bud Selig intends to step in today and attempt to broker an agreement with the MLBPA that would allow the A-Rod trade to go through.

Can anyone imagine Beastly walking into Victorias Secret to get perfume? It would finally give him an excuse to enter without being considered a pervert. Someone should write a sitcom of the life of Beastly....in this episode he'll walk into VS and will start some kind of mischief. Probably will ask one the ladies there to try on a thong and she'll kick him out. Then he spends the rest of the day searching for a substitue gift and ends up giving his GF a Chia pet. She of course dumps him and we will all laugh and say, "Thats our beastly!"

If Jose was sent to Seattle, the deal would look like this: -Nomar is traded to the Sox......Jose for Garcia. -Nomar isn't traded to the Sox........Jose for Guillen.
-
God no, make LA suffer. Keep Weaver on the West Coast....dudes a f***ing nutcase. I rather make trades for Garcia and Perez. Rotation for 04' Buehrle Loaiza Garland Garcia Perez.
-
Then again, if Nomar is kept Valentine could still be traded for Garcia....Konerko for Perez....and Reed could play RF. Too many scenarios....
-
If LA wont give up Molta, Perez, Miller for MAGGS what chance do we have of getting Perez and prospects for Paulie. I agree that Perez for Konerko straight up holds value, but we could get more from the Nomar trade. The Sox also have a higher probablility of filling SS compared to 1B. Their seems to be plans in place to trade Valentine, bump Uribe, and pursue Juan Gone (Acquiring Juan Gone is speculation, but its been reported that Sox management met with his agent). If Nomar is kept on our team, we only save 2.75 million dollars from the Maggs trade. How can we get another 1b (if Konerko is traded) and fill our void in RF with that money?

Rotoworld says Orioles are talking to three free agents: two of which are probably IROD and Vlad. LA can't outbid Orioles so they shouldnt attempt. Let them wallow in their own crapulence, as Mr. Burns would say.
-
In the three way trade Nomar would of went directly to LA and we would of picked up Mota,Perez,Miller from Boston for Maggs. If Nomar goes to the Sox.....we might force LA to add in another player. Which wouldnt of happened in the original deal. Or Sox could just keep Nomar and force LA to look elsewhere. But that wouldnt make sense because they still need offense and Sox still need pitching. Somewhere down the line we have to trade somebody to LA if we want our projected pitchers. Trading Nomar allows us to purse Guillen from Seattle. At SS, he would still be an upgrade over Valentine...though not to the extent of Nomar.
-
I agree, but KW isnt making it easier on himself by screwing LA out of directly acquirin Nomar. Its like a slap in the face, though some could argue its just business. LA had to chance to be in the three way deal for Nomar but decided that keeping their pitching was more valuable......now they can sit back and watch Irod and Vlad sign with the 0's.
-
I don't like this. But if it happens hopefully we'll sign Juan Gone, trade for one or two quality relievers, and get some f***ing starting pitching. Garcia for Valentine is a possibility but we're still one short; unless you believe Shoenweiss deserves a chance as a number5.....which he doesn't.

You're all wrong. Best sports program on the radio is the "Me and Z" show. These guys are fans first then sports broadcasters. They dont care who they offend and don't take crap from dumb callers. I seem to relate more to them then Mac,Jurko,Harry or Silvia/Carmen

Believe I heard 11 Million. My prediction: Maggs and AROD recieve consideration for MVP. Meanwhile Garciaparra re injurs his hand and ends the season batting in the .270s. Odaliz Perez reengergizes his career with 18 wins while Mota posts solid numbers again in relief.
-
What kind of idiot says this is the last place he wanted to go? Its too bad that he is getting shunned by Boston, but its the nature of the business. Nomar had his chance to sign an extension and turned it down. If he goes here then he should just play the game and shut his mouth. You bad mouth our team and the fans (that show up) will give you hell.
-
If the trade doesnt occur then we go back to working LA. If they remain b****es and dont give up anything then we should keep Maggs. No need to trade him and get nothing in return.
-
I have faith in Danny Wright out of the bullpen. The game which changed my mind had to be the infamous Cottsgate in NY. He did a good job providing long relief and limiting the damage. Another game (which I can't recall the team) Danny pitched for seven innings and recieved a save. Keep him and Cotts......deal Borchard and Rauch if you have to.
-
EXACTLY. What is the point of bringing him to Chicago first unless: 1. We plan on keeping him..... which is a bad idea because he will remain with the Sox only one year then likely move on. And as you guys have mentioned he's not thrilled about coming here. He does put up good offensive number but isn't exactly the finishing piece to our puzzle. Let the Sox fill the pitching needs first then work on other positions. 2. Sox are getting Nomar first only to force LA into recieving an extra player; possibly Konerko. If Evans doesnt fall for this then we keep Nomar and effectively dont recieve any pitching talent because KW tried to be a smart ass.
-
If we get Williamson, Mota, Perez, and Greg Miller I will be satisfied in trading Maggs. Hopefully Boston doesnt balk on the notion of trading Nomar to LA. On rotoworld, Boston Globe believes they should keep Nomar instead of acquiring Maggs; who makes almost 3 million more and is in the last year of his contract. If kept: Nomar would be moved to third, Mueller to seconed. By the time I wake up (2pm or so) this trade better be completed.

IMO, that lineup is on par with what we will see opening day. For SS, I would still hold an outside chance of Guillen (who could possibly be traded from Seattle for Valentine. Garcia then would not be included in the trade). Now what is unlikely to happen is the Sox signing Ponson. From what I read he is waiting for the Orioles future acquisitions before committing or signing elsewhere. Saying Ponson decides to leave Baltimore there will likely be a team willing to overpay for him. Too many tangibles would have to fall into place for the Sox to acquire him. If there was a list of starting pitchers most likely to be with the Sox in 04 it would look like this: 1. Garcia (Valentine) 2. Perez (Maggs) 3. Ponson (conservatively, 6 mil a year.) If all three somehow were on the Sox, could you imagine Jon Garland pitching in the bullpen? Seems unlikely to me...and I'm positive he wouldnt appreciate the move.

Bunch of dwarfs trying to destroy a ring doesn't sound interesting to me. Dont need to see the movie to realize that they probably destroy the ring and either one of the two main characters (Elijah wood or the fat kid) die. Whats worse is these nerd movies never get old and live on forever. In twenty years, when it seems everyone has forgotten about LOTR some nostalgic asshole will re-release the film and start this obsession up again.

Alright, our defense is dramatically improved. I honestly am not familiar with Damons abilities in CF. I made the assumption that Willie and Damon were about par defensively.

Since being banned a couple months ago I havent been able to view the WSI message boards. But if you can consider WSI more pessimistic then Soxtalk you managed to avoid us at the right times. I guess this week is better; right after we lost Colon there must of been 10 "f*** JR, Sox Suck!!" threads floating around.
-
Not really.......except that 5th starter goes by the name of Dick Harden. Leading up the game in which he lost (against the Sox of all people) Harden was pitching very well. Since that game I lost track of how he finished, but regardless of any slide he might of endured most teams would take this guy as a 3, 4.
