  1. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:30 PM) But he took the first 3 balls nicely. The whole line up swings at ball 4 all the time except Avila Shields handle that comebacker well. I thought I would add a good word.now 2 down. well that quick another run. good another 3 run inning Shield does what is expected of him by us the fans. by me.
  2. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 8, 2016 -> 10:26 PM) Who was the manager when the team had a record of 23-10? Was he not getting the best out of them at that point? Winning that many games we were lucky now you want to project Shields as a catastrophe. Rick Hahn isn't the only one making the decisions at whitesox headquarters. I will give shields the benefit of the doubt. I don't think they spent thag kind of money without a good amount of deliberation.
  3. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 2, 2016 -> 09:01 AM) It's good to see how tough it was weighing over the bats and their huge months but the pitchers have had a terrible year org wide. Gotta get some rebound there. when will Davidson get to try his luck at the show again ,http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20150429&content_id=121275356&fext=.jsp&vkey=news_milb&sid=milb
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 28, 2016 -> 07:12 PM) Trying to take focus off baseball for awhile, decided to read HIROSHIMA by John Hershey to put things in perspective. Still hoping this trade doesn't go through unless the Padres are eating roughly $16-18 million out of the $56 million we'd end up owing. Padres eating money part is what the article missed.
  5. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 14, 2016 -> 07:41 PM) If he can, it won't be with the Sox. They haven't developed a position player to a MLB starter in about a decade. I would have 0 faith of them doing it with the hardest position to develop. Let's try something a little easier first. Beckham looked like he was going to make it he went the advanced track played well for a couple of seasons but didn't pan out in long run. I watched him in his first spring training it was obvious that he was good or special.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 13, 2016 -> 01:50 PM) Rodon has struggled recently but soon, when he gets on a roll, the very thought of him being traded will make you laugh. Rodon has some Cuban heritage, when the sox had el duque and Contreras, el duque told Contreras he needs to pitch like a Cuban. El duque wanted him to change arm angles and speeds . Contreras then began pitching better.
  7. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 26, 2016 -> 11:12 AM) I would almost be willing to bet money that he is going to let up a home run tonight 15 and 6 after tonight. Sox will be 16 and 6 tomorrow. My prediction. 16 and 6 was Dick Donovan's record for the white sox in 1959. while sale goes 5 and o tonight.
  8. QUOTE (glangon @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 05:06 AM) Jason Coats is hitting .364 with a .977 OPS, 2 homers, 9 RBI's and 8 extra base hits in 17 games for Charlotte. Surely he should be the one called up when Avi is inevitably sent down to Charlotte to lick his wounds. Avi's pride might be hurt but I believe he has enjoyed a meteoric rise to the majors while some R and R at charlotte may rejuvenate his bat and defense
  9. QUOTE (WBWSF @ Apr 24, 2016 -> 09:13 AM) If Avila is out for some time and Smith doesn't work out, I can't help but wonder if the White Sox will try to acquire AJ from the Braves. I AJ comes up runners on first can automatically take second
  10. QUOTE (staxx @ Apr 24, 2016 -> 08:50 AM) Just keep winning boys! Latos win #4 He will be the biggest surprise in baseball. World series teams need surprises .

  12. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 08:10 AM) Apparently Saladino can play a competent 1B. Frazier does as well, obviously. We could always shift Frazier to first and start Saladino at third if needed. Frazier to first bring up Davidson. I think Davidson would be startled into playing well after being demoted to the minors after a great spring
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 19, 2016 -> 12:32 PM) I really doubt it. Danks has had 2 rough starts. Chris Sale is an ace and he has had 2 rough starts in a row. Last year he had a 4 game stretch where he pitched 23 innings gave up 35 hits and 20 runs in 4 starts, and in 2 starts in 10 1/3 gave up 18 hits and 14 runs. Danks isn't as good as he is. He is expected to have some clunkers. the only positive thing I have to say is he pitched well in spring training which doesn't count.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 19, 2016 -> 09:56 AM) He's been awful though. And Ynoa blew the Charlotte game last night. It will be Kahnle. my son and his oldest son son returned from spring training heaping praise on Kahnle.. he could really pitch. My guess
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 18, 2016 -> 10:22 AM) BUT WAS THOME CLUTCH? Crede was clutch!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and could field until his back went out
  16. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Apr 18, 2016 -> 09:14 PM) Would much rather have Trayce Thompson alone than this bum. Not to mention Micah Johnson and Frank Montas who may have stayed healthy if he was still with the Sox. Give Davidson a chance. Frazier can play left field. Ihave a feeling Davidson will come through. Davidson seems frustrated he proved himself in spring training but got the cut anyway.
  17. QUOTE (sammy esposito @ Apr 17, 2016 -> 06:24 PM) I went to spring training, I was lucky to be sitting with the co owner of dealership brother who live near the Angels practice field. I had a friend who ended up sitting behind me . My friend was not a fan of Konerko who didn't have a good season the year before and was not showing much to cheer about well the man sitting on the other side of me was Konerko's dad Unbenouncedd to my friend that Paul's dad was hearing everything he was saying about his son. Beer vendor came and they ordered4 beers not 5 and my friend moved to another seat. just shows you there is an adjustment period and frazier may get it. Konerko did well especially 2005 .
  18. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 17, 2016 -> 04:11 PM) I'd like to see Frazier play better, but I'm not super concerned. Even if he doesn't meet expectations, I very strongly doubt we look back at the end of the year and see Frazier's performance as the thing that held us back. Also, FWIW, I can't think of a good reason why the switch from NL to AL would be an explanation for a big shift in production. I went to spring training, I was lucky to be sitting with the co owner of dealership brother who live near the Angels practice field. I had a friend who ended up sitting behind me . 19. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 11:09 PM) Chuck Garfien ‏@ChuckGarfien 38m38 minutes ago Chicago baseball teams: 15-3 L-A baseball teams: 10-8 New York baseball teams: 7-9 #WhiteSox #Cubs 16 and 4 4/15/2016
  20. QUOTE (LDF @ Apr 14, 2016 -> 05:17 PM) i will say this as a disclosure, i am have always been a danks supporter. i will counter this discussion with this, last yr stats is but an example of what to expect from danks. esp with a better overall team. the team will have to create a baseline of what will be acceptable. is he, at this state any less than more other #5 starters??? the other question would be, where or whom will the sox depend on, if what you say becomes realty??? In 2003 we didn't win any games from our 5th starter.
  21. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 9, 2016 -> 03:57 PM) Matt Albers is the most valuable and sexiest player in baseball, discuss... Right now he is fantastic but am I seeng him wrong he looks a little chubby with great stuff. I like fat ALbers
  22. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 10:49 PM) Last time I had Little Caesar's I had stomach pain for a week. My friend told me I needed to build up a tolerance for it. Imo's is an affront to pizzas very existence. Any Generic cheap pizza would be better than Papa Johns.
  23. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 10:39 AM) I'm not ready to call Cabrera awful wit hthe bat again, just yet. He is pretty good in the 2nd half last year. Tough first three games, but he put together a great AB in the 9th last night. Don't forget Avi is batting .o91 with Melky . Frazier with that home run is still not hitting at .176 others need to step it up.
  24. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 5, 2016 -> 02:48 PM) Lawrie is pronounced like the name "Laurie." When Melton pronounces their name that is how it is pronounced.
  25. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 3, 2016 -> 10:12 PM) Out of all the national chains Pape Johns is by far my favorite. Also love Imo's (St. Louis thing) I don't eat pizza at a ball park on the same token I wouldn't eat Papa Johns at any time.
