QUOTE (Lillian @ Mar 20, 2016 -> 09:29 AM) This is all just one more reason for the city of Chicago to root for the Cubs. We're all die hards, but really guys, ask yourself this: If I weren't blindly loyal to the Sox, and if I hadn't been a fan, my whole life, for which team would I be rooting, this season? The North Side has a terrific young team, with a great manager and we have.....well, this?!!!! Way to go La Roche, Sale and Eaton. Great job. How idiotic!!!! In my 58 years of watching sox baseball I never had the urge to watch a Cubs game. If they do well and make it to the playoffs or to the world series I will quietly root for the opposing team. If they win I will congratulate my Cub fan friends for winning. I think this objection is from Sale. Eaton will be sad because he will again be the shortest man in the clubhouse again

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 20, 2016 -> 05:49 PM) I think they could use Fulmer out of bullpen exclusively this year in majors. Not as big of a risk because there isn't the Boras factor. That practice has been used on many of our starters. He can continue his development from the bull pen.\

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Mar 20, 2016 -> 05:06 PM) I'm guessing he will be dhing alot this year he will not be used as a defensive replacement.

QUOTE (Lillian @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 09:08 PM) Adam La Roche appears to not be very bright. One would think that he would have realized that he put his teammates in an awkward position. In this politically correct age, what guy is going to openly complain about such a well behaved, likable kid's presence in the club house and on the field? For La Roche to volunteer to not bring his son, if players objected, is a rather hollow promise, knowing that most guys would not want to openly object, even it they didn't appreciate it. The other obvious issue that should have entered his mind is that other players might have felt that they too should have the same privilege. Again, he just doesn't seem to be very bright. It's just common sense, which he apparently lacks. I think they made a mistake in signing LaRoche we thought we were getting some left hand power that could hit for power but what we got was a player who refuses to compromise with Kenny's reasonable request to limit the time his kid spends with the team.100% is too much. His kid needs to be in school.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Feb 24, 2016 -> 05:14 PM) Frazier replaces Gillaspie, Olt and Beckham. Lawrie replaces Sanchez and Micah. Avila/Navarro replaces Soto and Magic Glasses. Rollins/Saladino replaces a well respected but aging Alexei. Latos was added for some ratation depth ( we'll see how the knee holds up). Jones is back and 100% Trying times for Sox fans everywhere! While I don't know too much about Frazier he has played the outfield but I guess that could be weighed against how well he plays 3rd but if our infielders Saladino and Sanchez hit perhaps Todd could play in right field a little,

QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 22, 2016 -> 11:10 AM) All the more reason they might be trying to find a CF and move Eaton to LF. Maybe May can fill the bill.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 4, 2016 -> 03:45 PM) I believe the current lease runs through 2033, right? My Jersey is from 91 it is 25 years old has a stadium patch. Maybe its time to buy a new jersey. #31 Todd Frazier. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 4, 2016 -> 09:03 AM) You are welcome!of all the dodger outfielders maybe we could get Trayce Thompson back.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 2, 2016 -> 01:10 PM) But the Sox gave Avi Garcia a young player a lot of playing time to fight through his struggles, correct? Is he going to breakout if given another chance? Ethier would be effective in a platoon that would include Avi against lefties. Ethier's bat if there is no decline in future seasons would be welcomed.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 2, 2016 -> 12:22 PM) Would 8-10k really be that much of a difference? No reason to attend. Why watch a team that is doing everything to lose. That is not when you want to watch white sox baseball .

QUOTE (MuckFinnesota @ Jan 30, 2016 -> 04:30 PM) I think Buehrle is a Cardinal this year if he plays at all. I always thought that he could be a member of the sox team after his pitching days end. Maybe as our pitching coach.

QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jan 8, 2016 -> 03:12 PM) I am not enthused by this news. Don't get me wrong, I would be very excited if we acquired him, but why would we give up top prospects to acquire him rather than just signing Cespedes/Upton? Money. Cargo is signed to a 2/37 million dollar deal and we would need to go far beyond that to land Upton/Cespedes. It just seems cheap to me to voluntarily give up young talent when equal or greater options are available in free agency. The 18 and 1/2 million a year for someone who is not known to perform well outside of mile high. No prospects and 18 million cash coming back to the sox . How many times can the sox make the same mistake and still expect different results.

Who are the worst players in White Sox history?
sammy esposito replied to ChiSoxFanMike's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (OnlyGillis @ Dec 25, 2015 -> 11:05 PM) Sammy Esposito (part timer in the '50s) and Ron Karkovice (semi-regular in the '90s) were atrocious hitters that stick in my memory. I took his name can't remember too much I was pretty young. He didn't play much. -

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Oct 10, 2015 -> 12:56 PM) Worst scenario = trade Q, over pay Smarj. They only way he can perform better is go back to the NL. I'd rather have the Sox bring up one of the kids to pitch. IF the team is going to suck I'd rather it be due to youth than veterans. Shark had a lousy season with a few hints that he could pitch better. One year is good test. I would say let someone else overpay but keep Q maybe we could ge some offense to back him up

Chris Tannehill/Score trying to make Harrelson look bad...?
sammy esposito replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 26, 2015 -> 11:00 AM) Yes. By the way I've noticed that myself. Also found out another interesting thing about NESN where Orsillo worked. When their new guy, I think he's the G.M. of it took over he instituted a policy where his announces MUST take a break during the season. Don't know how much time they are required to take off and if it's a paid leave or not. Just found that different. Mark I watch sox games w/o sound which also eliminates stoney but the Hawk is irritating any news about replacing him is uplifting. -
QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Aug 20, 2015 -> 07:29 PM) What good is Chris Sale or Carlos Rodon? A draft pick allows us to do what we're incapable of otherwise -- developing a potential superstar player. Is it a guarantee for success? Hell no. But why not put us in a better position to improve the team? Will you care come 2016 if the White Sox finish with five more losses if it meant an improvement of several draft slots? But the White Sox aren't close to winning anything, anyways. Wise up and realize nothing from this point onward matters -- whether we finish with 81 wins or 69 itll be the same plan come next season 30 and 14 the rest of the way....wait that won't happen 14 and 30 more likely.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 9, 2015 -> 09:03 PM) Never was relevant Sox never got to .500 moot point. yes the sox did make 500 in April then slid like a luge.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Aug 4, 2015 -> 11:47 PM) Maybe it is your catcher big guy Wedger AJ's backup in 05 was let go or was it the next year because he wasn't properly prepared for the games. Is this Tyler's problem or is he jus that bad.

QUOTE (harkness @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 03:04 PM) If Soto isn't catching more he needs to be DHing more. when a lefty is on the mound instead of LaRoche.

SoxNet: What can the White Sox get for Jeff Samardzija?
sammy esposito replied to Quin's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 02:05 PM) 2 more years, or $30 mil a year? 30 million! Sox are use to getting their pitchers cheap.
