Twins get Mahle. Its done deal.
-
IF Robert is dead they shouldn't be trading trading for any short term fixes because they're fucked anyway.
-
Good. We shouldn't be overpaying for SP, quite literally one of the lowest priority needs.
-
Well then if Eloy is in LF, AV should be DHing. Another guy that should be prioritized over 35 year old JD Martinez on an expiring contract. JDM makes zero sense, which means Hahn and Co are probably all over it.
-
Eloy should be DHing every single day. I'd rather give Eloy at bats than JDM.
-
I don't see how another DH helps the problem.
-
Almost certain to be in CF tonight…

TBF, Jesse Rogers knows no more than you or I.

There is next to 0% chance Colas isn't in RF by this time next year (should caveat this by saying "assuming he is still in org"). I think he'll be in RF by May 2023, tbh. Sox will probably do dumbass Sox things, make no trades for the OF today, leave Colas in the minors and then break camp with him next season blowing a year of service.
-
The left handedness would be nice, but Joc is an awful OF. Would fit right in. I'd be "okay" with the move as opposed to doing nothing, but it doesn't do much for me.
-
Rats. This is the one guy that I felt was somewhat realistic to actually acquire that could theoretically help in right field.
-
Some people will believe anything.

I have negative interest in trading Giolito right now. Why TF would you trade him at quite literally his lowest value point at any juncture of his White Sox tenure? You hold onto Giolito and just hope he comes back in 2023 with his issues resolved. Lucas is a man dedicated to his craft, and a man that has proven several times that this next contract is important to him. I'd bet on Lucas being pretty good next season.
-
I wouldn't agree to it if I were him either.
-
Dudes got a lot of leverage atm. I'd be using it.
-
Until you get the tax bill.
-
That is one very poor defensive team. Sure can hit, tho.
-
I.......am not sure I agree. On paper and assuming Sox are what they are and won't figure anything out, sure. But the Twins still are not very good and are not playing good baseball and haven't for awhile. Not sure 8 Rodon starts really changes that. Now of course a Sox standing pat team won't be the ones winning the division unless they somehow decide to change their offensive approach 101 games into the season.
-
I would love to see the Twins dump a couple of their best prospects for 8 Rodon starts.

Reese McGuire (+ Taylor Broadway) to Red Sox for LHRP Jake Diekman
ChiSox59 replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
They'll probably ship the Red Sox $100k or some organizational filler. It is very likely a complete non issue not worth an iota of thought at this point. -
Fire Tony and the coaching staff. First order of business. Find a way to solve the Abreu/Eloy/Vaughn issue IMO, Abreu is going nowhere, you cannot trade Eloy right now and AV has the most value. I have never been a huge proponent of trading AV in the past as I really like him, but he simply has no spot on this club if Abreu is sticking around. I'd try to trade him for a middle infielder that better fits team needs (LHH; good defender) to play 2B or a RF (though there are some solid FA options) Don't overpay for Abreu FFS. 1 year deal in $12-$15M range, with a team option should be the max. Make sure this deal is completed before trading AV. Sign Brandon Nimmo. Conforto on a pillow contract is a back up option Make Eloy an everday DH and stop caring about his feelings TA SS, Moncada 3B, Robert CF, Abreu 1B, Nimmo/Conforto LF/RF, Eloy DH, Pollock/Colas LF/RF, Yaz/Perez C, 2B acquisition BN: Pollock, Perez, Leury/Harrison, Engel Basically roll back the same starting rotation and bullpen,. Maybe sign an interesting back end rotation guy on a 1 year deal, or maybe Cueto wants to come back. Hope Gio and Lynn are far better in 2023, not much else you can do there. Certainly don't need further $ spent on the pen. That team is far more balanced, better defensively and certainly better managed (don't even need to know who it is).

It is a bit puzzling. I get why the O's would sell high on Lopez, I just find this return to be very middling.
-
Go to PadresTalk. They'll welcome you with open arms for all your positive takes.
-
The O's have a better record than the Sox and are 2.5 GB of a WC. I don't see you campaigning for the Sox to sell.
-
For Cade Povich (A+), Yennier Cano (MLB), Juan Nunez (RK) and Juan Rojas (RK), all pitching prospects. I know Lopez was not good as recently as last season, but feels pretty light for a (currently elite) reliever with 2.33 seasons of control. Only Povich was in Twins top 30. Cano has pitched some in the majors this year, but has gotten lit up. Other two are young pitching prospects in complex league.
