Man this fucking team.

8/10 at KC - Cueto vs. Bubic (7:10 start)
He’s certainly turned his season around after the start. He’s been very solid for a couple months now.

8/10 at KC - Cueto vs. Bubic (7:10 start)
I've always been a Yaz supporter, but you cannot just keep running him out there right now. Getting close to thinking shutting him down until 2023 is the best play if he's just not going to hit all season. Don't think Seby (or Reese previously) is/was the answer, either. I imagine Perez will be up here in September, but that is still 3 weeks away. Might be hard to wait that long.

Was Montgomery only top 100?

Moncada
And played some elite defense as well.

8/9 Game Two - Vs. KC Because Why Not
Could theoretically still do that after Kopechs next start and bring Martin right back. I doubt Sox actually do that, but if that was plan, no reason to keep Martin on roster next few days when he won’t be pitching anyway.

Can’t image Leury will be playing next couple days. He played that 2nd game on one leg. Sosa gonna have to rake to stay in there tho. Had Leury not gotten hurt zero chance Sosa plays tomorrow.

Very hurt. Honestly. Harrison must’ve really been hurting to have not taken Leury out.

Sadly is probably 2nd best RF on the roster.

Looks like Leury is in need of a season ending surgery.

Appears that way. We’re 3 days in and that plan could not be more clear. Just brutal.

8/9 Game 1 GT: Sox at Royals - Lynn vs. TBD (Tue 310CT)
Not really. This game sucked and this team isn’t very good. But they’re 2 games back heading into today and probably 1.5 GB tomorrow morning. The season isn’t over.

8/9 Game 1 GT: Sox at Royals - Lynn vs. TBD (Tue 310CT)
If you promised me the Sox would fire most of the coaching staff - definitely including TLR and Menechino - if they missed the playoffs, I might make that trade. But I definitely don't think anything is for sure with the Sox.

What are these reckoning rumors you speak of?

Tim Anderson out 4-6 weeks with torn ligament in his hand
But like, I am still taking Timmy over Leury without a 2nd thought even with the recent poor 30 games sample considered. But yeah, I mean, we're saying the same thing. The latest version of TA isn't a huge loss atm. Chances of TA snapping out of it and become a really good player over the next 4-6 weeks was many times more likely that getting above average production out of Leury at SS.

We only get two extra guys for September, I believe. Imagine one will be Perez unless Yaz starts hitting. Also have Bummer hopefully returning. Then you got Burger, Martin, Valasquez, Romy, Haseley, Crick (if healthy), Payton, Schryver and Shilling all with some levels of deservedness. Will be interesting to see how they manage the extra 2 spots. Then of course hopefully TA comes back at some point as well.

In a vacuum, losing TA hurts. Going from even the TA of the last few weeks to Leury is serious downgrade. But this isn't the loss it was earlier in the season when TA went down. I hope to see Sosa get some serious run, but I think it'll be a 50/50 timeshare at best with Leury. Let's hope Sox are still in this thing when they get a healthy (and hopefully recharged and rejuvenated) TA back mid to late September.
