This trade season has been boring AF so far.
-
I refuse to entertain the thought the Sox would be worse off with Gallo in RF against RHP as opposed to Sheets rest of season. Assuming health of Eloy, Robert, Engel and Pollock...all of which deserve that caveat....things do get a bit crowded out there with Gallo on board. But I am fine with Pollock getting less time against RHP, shift AV to LF and let Eloy DH. Plus Eloy is going to get plenty of offdays ROS. I am not saying Gallo is some homerun acquisition. As you said, he's damn near a DFA or salary dump. But he's also 1 year removed from a 4.4 fWAR season. Gavin Sheets probably won't accumulate 4.4 fWAR in his career.

Who are they even going to bring up? Martin and stick him in the pen? Other options on 40 man are Sousa, Severino, Markel, Aybar and BIlous...none of which seem like real options at this point. Maybe its time they give Hunter Schryver a shot.

It would be. I’d rather try Gallo.

Wouks love to see Twins get swept. -
More DHs!!!! Just say no to Joc

While I absolutely agree with this line of thinking and have all along the line with our guys starting with Kopech, and then Eloy, then Robert, and Vaughn. But one thing has always been consistent..they challenge the player, or extend them and call them up. If Colas keeps hitting like this, they aren’t waiting until May 2023 to do something. This is the White Sox.

White Sox among 'most agressive' teams in pitching market

Like I said, nice season. He’s a 31 YO back the rotation SP having a career year. Good for him. Don’t be the guy to pay full price. Dude has a career whip of just under 1.5. He’s an upgrade on no one in our rotation. -

Cause he sucks. Nice season for him. Wouldn’t touch him with a ten foot pole unless TEX hands him over for a song. -

Who we removing from the rotation? His buddy Lance Lynn? -
My point remains.

If that's the case, I wouldn't expect much other than a pen arm or two. Acquiring better players would push some of his beloveds out of the lineup. -

So you would sell when 3 GB when literally in the midst of a contention window and the point of playing the game is going to the playoffs? Had the Sox fallen to 7-8 GB right now, I think selling has some merit. Selling when 3 GB of two teams that are not good doesn't make a single shred of sense. -

Did you really expect them to sell when 3 GB of 2 teams that aren't good? -
I don't care. I'll take the larger sample. You can focus on whatever fits your narrative, but your narrative is stupid. Vaughn is an awesome bat.
-
Hopefully a 1 game rehab assignment.
-
Vaughn has 120 wRC+ against RHP in 2022. Stop with the non sense.
-
THis is a very good sign. Turns out he isn't dead.
-
Woof this pen is in shambles.

I am not married to Burger at all. I would certainly trade him in the right deal. But he's very useful injury insurance and he has another option in 2023. Trading him for 8 Quintana starts doesn't make any sense.
-
I'd hate just Burger for Q. Gross.
-
He is top 10 in the AL in wRC+. Last year Nelson Cruz got the Twins Joe Ryan. The Sox won't trade Abreu, but if they did, they'd definitely get something interesting.

Happ has hardly played any RF. This definitely feels like a Pollock situation where he'll be just awful in RF. Happ has versatility, but he's frankly not a good defender anywhere, so not sure how much it really helps you. You can stick him in RF and at 2B, but team defense is going to suffer even more at 2B, and probably just more of the same in RF. Not completely opposed to Happ depending on the price, and he certainly helps some lineup balance issues, but he isn't a perfect fit and I am DEFINITELY not giving up Colas for him. I'd rather just stick Colas in RF. I would enjoy a Wendle acquisition.
-
I think we all can agree that this thing really isn't going to be successful until that fucking hag just goes away. The one positive I can gather from the Sox never getting over the hump this season is that hopefully.....please lord.....TLR goes away.

He is supposedly an average CF and should be a solid defender in the corners. He's been playing RF since going to AA but was playing primarily CF in WS.
