He clearly was sent back to Chicago for more tests because whatever is ailing him isn't getting better. They gave it a go, he DH's one game, didn't feel well, and they sent him back to Chicago for more tests. Which means he's likely at least a couple weeks away from returning because they're going to have to send him to AAA again. Just brutal.

If that is the case, why bother sending him to AAA at all? Send the dude on a plane by himself to Nashville to DH Friday night, and then call it good? Obviously he "got sick" on Saturday, but the decision making doesn't make much sense if they activate him today. But obviously that is what I am hoping for because the other alternative isn't a good one.

I just don't get this huge opposition to Gallo by some. He's a far better option in RF against RHP than Gavin Sheets, and that is the bar to clear. And he shouldn't cost much to acquire. What's the harm? Cutting into Pollock's playing time against RHP in which he's produced an 65 wRC+ this season?

According to Hahn's latest statement, the hope is he'll be back in September. But he definitely caveated that it is no guarantee.

Yeah, I mean I'd be cool with Quintana type if he's cheap just so we can skip/control Kopech's innings a bit down the stretch. He's currently on pace for ~140 IP in the regular season, which is probably a little high. But yeah, not a huge priority IMO.

Well it sounds like a handful of teams are interested, so you're going to have to give up something. A low level pitching prospect rated between 20-30 in a bottom 5 farm system in the game that is widely considered pretty terrible after the top 15 or so isn't very much. But yeah, I mean I'd acquire him for less if possible.
