  1. Ehhh. I don't think it needs to be that strong. Get to the start of the Twins series 4-5 GB, and see what happens.
  2. I, for one, hope they win the next three. I would like to watch entertaining baseball the next 3 months.
  3. In other news, I think you gotta change the "Hawk" emjoi title to "you gotta be bleepin' me".
  4. JR

I don't believe that. IF that was the case, why doesn't he allow the baseball people in charge make the baseball decisions? Like I dunno....hiring and firing the manager.
  5. A lefty on the mound, so maybe we have a chance. Look forward to seeing how Tony fucks this one up tonight.
  6. JR

I can't for the life of me believe that JR is happy with the state of the club or satisfied with where Tony has these guys playing. Tony is costing his organization money at the gate, and missing the playoffs in a season which the Sox certainly expected to be there will mean a significant drop in projected revenues. TLR is also, in theory, impacting the value of the organization because I truly believe that most in the Sox FO and ownership believed this core would be an annual playoff team contending for WSs from 2020-2025 and beyond. Right now, that is looking far less likely than it looked the day TLR was hired. You can't tell me that the Sox making 5 straight playoffs with a couple WS appearances and perhaps a title wouldn't measurable increase the valuation of the organization. That absolutely has to matter to JR. We can all hate the guy and call him names and rightfully so, but he didn't get to where he is in life being a dumbass. He's old, and like his buddy TLR, certainly isn't as sharp as he once was...but I don't believe for a second that he doesn't care. At some point, enough has to be enough. I doubt they fire TLR in-season, but if the Sox miss the playoffs, I cannot image they'd allow him to come back as a lame duck manager that has completely killed all momentum the org had.
  7. Well you can blame him for pinch hitting Leury to lead off the 9th instead of Zavala. That move make absolutely ZERO sense. You can also blame him for gift wrapping the Tigers their 2nd run in the top half of the 9th with just brutal managing. Banks should have never have been in there, but you certainly cannot keep him in to face Tork, nor should you have even pitched to Tork. Just brutal.
  8. If we’ve gained no ground in the Central between now and a week from Sunday.
  9. Fire Tony!!!
  10. All you can do this laugh.
  11. Love is a b****
  12. It was an ugly route but you take it. The bar to clear is awfully low .
  13. Nice catch from AJ. Still so hard for my to wrap my head around their complete and utter avoidance of him playing RF for 2 months.
  14. I wasn’t anticipating disliking Pollock. I don’t dislike many Sox. He’s unenjoyable to watch AND bad. Not a great combo.
  15. I’ve always wondered why someone would spend so much of their time on a baseball team yet always have this giddiness to them when pointing out their inadequacies. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose.

He's gotta be dinged up. No way they're just sitting him
  17. I don't see why we would trade a potential solution to our decade+ long problem in RF.
  18. It is. But its hard to argue he wouldn't be a useful piece, and he can't cost much and doesn't crowd the picture past 2022. Problem is the Sox just don't have many roster spots to play with. We all know Leury isn't going anywhere. Harrison probably isn't either. You could option Sheets, but then we're exacerbating the lack of lineup balance because Drury is yet another righty. There just aren't many left handed options that are going to be available as we've discussed here before. But Sox made their own bed here.
  19. I'd say if we can get to that 4 game series @ Minnesota a week from today 4 GB or less, we gotta feel pretty decent about things. Certainly continue to control your own destiny at that point. Twins have 3 @TEX and 2 vs. Milwaukee in that time while we have 4 vs. DET and 4 @ Cle. Twins go 3-2 in those 5, we need to go 6-2 to pickup that game and a half. Tall task, but it certainly starts with continuing to beat the shit out of the Tigers, including picking up that half game tonight.
  20. I don't think we need more SP. I'd probably try to get to get Drury for a song though.
  21. Perhaps but could have easily won 2/3 without the 7th inning debacle on Mon. But yea, got outplayed for sure.
  22. I hate that mlb.tv doesn’t give you access to pre and post. Used to love that back in the day on MLB extra innings.
  23. This fan base lacks some serious objectivity with respect to Moncada. It’s amazing really. Has been been a huge let down in 22? Of course. Has he lived up to his lofty potential? Nah. But he’s still a well above average player and likely will be one of the Sox more valuable players ROS.
