He does have 2 options.

DH is the spot. Figure it out when Eloy returns. These things tend to take care of themselves.

Definitely isn’t. Was poorly worded, just saying and I’d prefer him as one of the last couple guys as opposed to those 3 lefties.

Grandal exits game, apparent leg injury
While I never want to see Seby in the bigs again, he’s raked in aaa this year. His OPS is well ahead of Perez who has cooled off.

Jake Burger would be a horrific 2B. I’m not opposed to trying it out but it’s gonna be bad and probably not something you can do with any regularity.

I like Crick quite a bit more than some of the lefties we’ve thrown out there (Severino, Banks, Sousa). Nice to have 2 lefties in the pen, but woof Sousa has gotta go like the other 2 did.

Was expecting Gio to get a chance to start this inning.

Looked like it could have been a cramp. Hoping Yaz is alright as he’s just started to show some life.

POSITIVE THREAD
11-7 finish to the month looks doable heading into a July-September schedule that literally couldn’t be softer.

Perhaps, but that always made a little sense since a lefty is going and Rees is gonna catch Kopech tomorrow for sure.

Why not option Martin today? He’s gonna be unavailable a few days and Lynn takes the rotation spot on Tuesday. Kinda strange.

Sox have really started hitting lefties again. I expect a comfy W.

Meh. Sox could use his fire. Larussa is a corpse and the team plays like it.

While AJP would be very far down my list of candidates, I would take him a millisecond over Larusaa. No brainer. TBF, I would take literally anyone over TLR. The bar is so low that someone with a minimal baseball knowledge could do better if they just accepted direction from the staff. TLR has been quite simply nothing but a consistent impediment for this team since his arrival.

Yeah, I guess its just for length today with Martin going, but woof. Tonight looking like another game with long odds for a Sox W.

Gavin Sheets Optioned to AAA. Lambert Up.
He literally had a 3 or 4 game stretch where he hit all his homers. He's had 1 XBH since then. Just awful.

Glad to see Sheets gone - long overdue. Hope he gets his swing back in Charlotte. But not sure what Jimmy Lambert accomplishes.

He'll be on the IL in no time.

Next four months…keys to survival that won’t cost as much
I highly doubt the Sox will trade any assets, let alone ones controlled in 2023, unless they’re 10+ GB in late July. With the Sox upcoming schedule, the Twins upcoming schedule and the rest of the circumstances surrounding those two teams, that seems very unlikely.

TLR 2022 Thread
Burger has rightfully received plenty of flack around here for his defense yesterday. He did cost the Sox the game and you’re absolutely Correct that spot never happens if he completes the DP, or hurts a lot less if his error the previous inning didn’t lead to 5 unearned runs. He’s simply not someone you can play at 3B regularly.

Yeah, I don't really think trading Abreu for a couple B- prospects is the solution. This division is still winnable. I am not interested in the Sox trading some of their few valuable prospects this summer, but they should be able to find a LH OF and 2B on expiring deals that can help. Drury is good fit and shouldn't cost much.

Eloy rehab starts again 6/21
I just think its funny you went from July 1st, got called out on it, and then switched to July 20. I don't disagree that there is a coin flips chance that Eloy gets hurt again before he makes it back to the club. And even if he does make it back to the big leagues this year, I don't have much faith he'll be a positive contributor. It sucks, but any sort of positive developments we get from Eloy moving forward are going to be gravy. I hope the organization plans that way moving forward. He simply cannot be relied upon.
