Well that was quicker than expected.

Dallas Keuchel DFA
At least we didn’t take Parkmans advice on the Mitch Keller for Andrew Vaughn trade he was pushing for before OD.

What thread? Could use a chuckle. Missed that one

Dallas Keuchel DFA
Not raining on anything. But Mendick doesn’t have any role on this club.

Dallas Keuchel DFA
They did it. Good for them. Don’t need Mendick tho.

Glad to see Dallas has pride
Sox really gonna keep Dallas around at this point? Ffs.

5/28 - Cubs @ Sox
Sox need both of these. Would be lucky to go 4-5 in the next 9 after this mini series with the way we’ve played.

Sure, but that doesn't help last night. No argument there. I said he should have been used in mop up duty Tuesday instead of VV at the time, and certainly before yesterdays game. But once you're in that spot, unfortunately Banks or Sousa were really the only options. Which says something about the pen to be sure, but Banks was getting into the game yesterday regardless.

I feel like if the Sox were closing the book on Dallas, we'd know by now.

I cannot believe I am actually somewhat going to defend TLR, but what were the other options last night? The only realistic option to avoid Banks was to go to Foster for a 2nd inning, something he hasn't done in over a month. I probably would have gone that direction, but Banks and Sousa were really the only other options.

When did we take the wrong turn?
There is really no realistic chance TLR gets fired. It would (and should) have happened already.

When did we take the wrong turn?
What happens if JR dies? Honest question. Does his family just become in charge? Does anything even change?

Moncada + Grandal
Certainly could not see it yesterday, but Fegan had an article talking with Menechino and Yaz was discussed. He said Yaz had his best cage session this season Wed and was now onto approach as opposed to mechanics, insinuating he’d sorted out his swing issues. Again, last night we got 4 weak grounders so take it for what it’s worth. Yaz was like Superman with a bat when he returned from the IL last summer. It’s hard to believe a guy could fall off so quickly. There’s gotta be something in the tank, but they gotta stop batting him in the middle of the order until he finds it in game.

Sox vs Sox Rubbermatch and Season Finale- 7:10 CT
I’d feel alot better about things if Sox had announced Keuchel DFA and banks optioned following the game, with corresponding moves Sat.
-
When did we take the wrong turn?
The answer is simple and swift: when JR decided to hire TLR to manage this team.

Sox vs Sox Rubbermatch and Season Finale- 7:10 CT
I think it’s probably time the Sox make a move in the dugout.

Gonna need some moves to the pitching staff after this one.

I’d like to hear to analysis from @trayabout how bad AV is.

Sox vs Sox Rubbermatch and Season Finale- 7:10 CT
Keuchel should have been used Monday as the mop up man. Choosing Keuchel over VV made no sense then, before this game started and quite obviously now.

Yes, beat me to it.

Eloy is that bat, like it or not. They aren’t bringing in another OF for at least 6 weeks.

I don't know what you're missing. He needs to throw 160 innings for the option to vest. He's thrown 30 innings in 7 starts (~4.3 innings per start, on avg). If he takes every turn through the rotation the rest of the season, he make 25 more starts. 25 starts X average of 5 innings per starts (again, he has averaged less than that to date) = 125 innings + 30 innings pitched to date = 155 innings, which is below the 160 innings, and that assume Dallas makes 25 more starts, which is incredibly unlikely. Its unlikely Dallas makes 25 more starts. Its unlikely he averages 5 IP in the rest of the starts that he actually does make. Therefore, it is incredibly unlikely he hits 160 innings. This dude is going to be replaced in the rotation when Lynn returns anyway. If he's thrown in pen for even just 2 weeks, and then gets a rotation spot back, he's never getting to 160 innings even if he starts the rest of the season on from that point. Its really a non issue.
