I'd go ahead and schedule an appointment to get that neck looked at.
-
Yeah. I suspect if the Sox can't move him, he's insta claimed by the O's and he gets a chance there. If he flops, he's DFA'd again and probably gets handed around the league for a few months until he either sticks on a roster or eventually clears waivers and goes back to AAA.
-
Correct. Man, DFAing Micker would suck. Especially just to hold Mendick on the roster who both has options, isn't good at baseball and won't play at all. With only 13 healthy pitchers in camp, they aren't going with 15 pitchers. I would guess 1 more external arm is added next couple days. Buuuuuut we all saw this coming. If Micker had a lick of value, he'd have been traded last July.
-
I haven't had a chance to watch a ton of Cespy, but his throw from CF yesterday late in the game sure didn't resemble a canon. Probably just a bad throw, I know the scouting reports say he has a +arm.
-
No. He just goes to the claiming team (he won't make it past the O's) and is out of options there still. This process continues to repeat itself until he finds a home, or clear waivers.
-
Yes, but unlikely. no his options don’t get reset.
-
I agree with this, but Sox hands are simply tied. He's ran out of time with this org. I don't think he's going to turn into the next Aaron Judge, but Franmil Reyes with better defense is a solid comp if things go well for Micker. Not usually a Morosi fan, but the fact that he says Micker has been a popular name in trade talks this week, it would seem to indicate that there is at least some interest from other teams. With the 2 extra roster spots, I assume Sox would prefer to roster Micker thru April to see if our often injured OFs get injured than trade him for a bag of balls.
-
Well they're currently about to give Nomar Mazara a roster spot...
-
Let's leave with one of their SP.
-
Padres seem like the best fit to me. They're a little thin in the OF and have a bunch of SP options. Adolfo would never slip to them on waivers, so they couldn't wait that long. Probably a pipedream, but somehow getting Paddack out of this deal even if he's slightly damaged goods would be quite a move from Hahn.

Sox Acquire Reese McGuire for Zack Collins, Officially
ChiSox59 replied to Heads22's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Yeah, seems like a tough spot for Zack to get back to the big leagues in 22. Believe this is his last option year, so he'll latch on somewhere else in 23. I think the power will eventually show if he's given regular at bats. But he's simply not a big league catcher. -
Not sure I agree with this. Seeing as though Cueto can’t help until at least early May, we still need someone to cover a rotation spot thru April. Don’t expect anyone exciting, but someone to help in meantime is still needed.
-
I was referring to RF. Not the infield.
-
That may be the case, but they absolutely cannot let him pitch 160 innings. And with Kopechs innings limits, and Lynn now out 2 months, they just need bodies. Probably another as well.
-
Id probably rather carry Micker than Mendick and/or Seby assuming Micker cannot be moved for anything useful and would otherwise be DFA. Micker wont play basically at all, but I’d rather give him a shot in RF if someone gets hurt than see Leury out there. Maybe you can find a trade part partner in a couple weeks too. I suspect roster will be 14/14.
-
Duran will be in the pen. Will eventually start for them, but not right away.
-
Parkman doesn’t like Vaughn. But if he was in another team he’d be the next babe ruth.
-
You just said you won’t complain about Moncada if he puts up 4-5 war seasons. He put up a 4.5 war season in 21, yet you complain about him nearly daily. This does not compute, Jack.
-
You will be. Who you kidding? That’s what he did last year and you complain about how it’s not 2019 Moncada almost daily.
-
Lost me at signing Conforto would have been a stupid move. Lol quite a take there.
-
He would not have signed for 2/$44M with the QO attached. He may not have taken the QO, but I don’t think it’s a certainty. In any event, Sox know more about Rodon than anyone. It looks like a questionable move right now with Lynn hurt for sure, but Rodon will be hurt in no time.
-
I don’t think he’ll be anything more than the 28th man / extra IF insurance for in game injuries.

Gonna miss watching that kid hit.

Yermin needs to be added to that list. -
Sure why not. Should have signed him a month ago.
