In no scenario would Keuchel be my 4 when he’s in a rotation with Giolito. Lynn, Cease and Kopech. I am not against adding a SP, but it should be a longer term fit if it’s for Gavin. I’d trade Burger + for Bassitt tho.

Getting Eloy out of LF would help otherwise he’ll be out of LF and DH because he’s on the IL.

Exactly. Rotation is full. We have mlb ready guys who can take some starts. Grab a cheap vet to compete with Keuchel and go to war. Keep Gavin. If you’re gonna make a trade, grab an expiring asset SP for Burger + fluff and call it a day.

I’m holding Sheets and dumpster diving SP. i know it’s likely Sox will make a trade or two and Sheets is at top of the list of who’s going, but 1 year of Bassitt in return is rough. Another SP would be nice but I’d rather have Gavin around for when we’re sure to need him. This team is plenty good as is to win division. Bassitt isn’t moving the needle on the playoff rotation.

I would not like that trade. Not opposed to using the Sheets bullet, but not on that move. He has legitimate value to this team even without a clear starting spot. I’d need to really like the return.

Can’t really go wrong between A or B tbh. But if I had to pick, I’d go A cuz this team badly needs to improve against RHP.

Way I understand it is players get those bonuses if they apply and then the remainder is chopped up amongst top 20% pre arb players, presumably also including the award winners.

I don't think they add another good, reliable SP to be honest. The rotation is full. Lopez, Stiever and Lambert will fill in as needed when Kopech needs a break. I expect they'll add a cheap vet off the FA scrap heap to give Keuchel some competition and an additional fallback option.

If you want to assume all the leaks are complete bullshit, sure. IF you assume its not and the CBT is up to $230M increasing to $240M range in 5 years, pre-arb pool up to $40M, player salaries up to $700k and increasing ~$15-25k a year, which are all things that have been widely reported. I think its safe to say the players are being greedy fucks at this point. Could it all be a ploy in the media to turn the narrative and MLB is still where they were a week ago in Florida on all these stances? Sure, theoretically possible. But I doubt that is the case. Players have hit a stand up triple and they're going to the inside the parker with no outs.

Yeah I hear ya but in terms of things I am concerned about, that is about the bottom of the barrel. Do agree there is some potential for funny business if the process isn't changed.
