  1. Sure. But they’re not gonna win more than 83-85 games at most. I do agree they’re probably our biggest competition at this point.
  2. I meant best case for the Sox - ie lowest deal I could see realistically happening. I am definitely one of the more vocal Conforto posters here and have been calling for him for a long time. But I wouldn’t do 5/$110M. Woof.
  3. I think best case on Conforto is the Yaz deal. 4/$73M.
  4. This team is very good as is. I don’t see anyone in the ALC sniffing the Sox this year. Not saying I don’t want a 2B and RF - I certainly do - but I don’t think we need to Trade Vaughn or Crochet to become a true WS contender. Just spend some cash and let’s go play!
  5. It sure didn’t take long for the boards negative nancies to ruin some good FA and trade speculation!
  6. See now this I agree with.
  7. Id be shocked if he surpassed 40 starts in a Giant uni.
  8. Ahhh yes so let’s stress about a series of awful moves that are surely never going to happen. Makes sense.
  9. Figure that out in July. Options would include whatever scrap heap SP they sign in the next 3 weeks. Or Lopez. Or Stiever. Or Lambert. Or Crochet. Or someone else who has a big couple months in the minors. This is our 5th SP we're talking about.
  10. Definitely cannot hit. But assuming we signed a real RF, and I will continue to assume that until they don't, I can live with a no bat 2B if he's a great defender. We need more good defenders.
  11. Wouldn't have hated Simmons on $4M deal for 2B.
  12. I mean I just posted that I'd love send Keuchel to the moon. But hes their #5 starter, they're paying him regardless and Sox will probably win the division by 10+ games anyway. Add all those together, and I don't see Sox spending their limited capital an another SP, and I believe they'll try to squeeze as many starts as possible out of Dallas until that vesting option gets close and which point they send him packing.
  13. Prepare to be disappointed.
  14. I don't think anyone thinks its a bad thing. I just don't think they're going to add a 6th legitimate SP to do it. Much more likely a scrapheap FA to compete with him. Thing is, Sox are paying Kuechel $18M. They've historically shown no willingness to completely cut bait on someone that expensive. He isn't a bullpen piece. They'll try to squeeze 20 or so out of him before releasing. To be clear, I'd love to send Keuchel to the moon and acquire a legit TOR SP. I just don't think its going to happen.
  15. I mean, he's right tho.
  16. Shrug. You asked why he isn't here for that price. The answer was obvious.
  17. If the Sox wanted him for 2/$44M, they would have given him 1/$18M.
  18. Yepppp. Knew Carlos was never coming back here. Glad Sox didn't bite on that.
  19. Would have definitely preferred he come out and say 2B and RF are big time priorities, but we know they are.
  20. I mean he kind of has to say that.
  21. I am sort of astonished there hasn't been any action leaguewide.
  22. Didn't he have like 20 at bats and a week or two of service with Boston, and then the Sox sent him back to AAA for half a season? Not sure that week or two really changes the point. He was still rookie eligible in 17, and didn't get enough ABs to truly garner any real ROY consideration even if he was good enough to do so (he wasn't).
  23. Yes. My guess is he is passed around a few MLB rosters until he finally clears waivers. Wouldn't be shocked to see a rebuilding team give him a go, but the Ks are a real issue.
  24. He is out of options. And there is no space for him on the MLB roster. He's either traded, or has to clear waivers in the next 4 weeks.
