Are these open to general public now or just those with season ticket plans?
-
Yeah. I mean the market dictated the return, but obviously the Cubs were very incentivized to move Kimbrel and seeing as though he now a Sox, no one was offering more. Hahn did specifically say that Heuer was the hold-up that the cubs we not blinking without him, and Hahn finally agreed to include on deadline morning. But yeah. Big Codi fan myself (as well as Nicky), so it was a tough one for me to swallow. Hopefully Craig shows up with the bright lights turn on next week.

Good test here against a good pitcher. Hope the bats can show up again - lets take this mini-series.
-
You’re aware Goodwin is on IL, yah?
-
I think it’s possible for a game or two in the ALDS, yah. Then go from there.
-
Yeah, I admittedly didn't take a deep dive into Codi's Cubs numbers, but he's still been just a serviceable as Kimbrel. I'll certainly take Kimbrel over Heuer for the 2021 playoffs. But still just a huge overpay, and I remain confident that Codi is going to be a very nice backend reliever for a long time, and we controlled him for peanuts.
-
One of the worst parts of the deadline was selling low on Heuer. He's been better than Kimbrel by himself and is going to be a great pen peice for a long time. I have no problem selling high on relievers but selling low was so puzzling. I know Hahn specifically said there was no deal without Codi, but man it was an overpay without him. Adding him in was just salt in the wound.

Tepera running out of time to get back and knock off the rust. He's a guy we need.

I'd personally just run Vaughn out there over Sheets, platoon be damned. But we'll see.
-
I'd still rather see Vaughn in LF and Eloy at DH. But seems pretty much guaranteed Eloy is our LF in the playoffs. Which means Vaughn is going to be competing with Sheets for DH at bats, because I think Leury is going to be in RF assuming Engel isn't going to be healthy enough to play everyday (if at all). I think this is the best realistic lineup: TA SS, Robert CF, Abreu 1B, Grandal C, Eloy DH, Moncada 3B, Vaughn LF, Engel/Leury RF, Hernandez 2B If Engel were healthy, I'd put him in RF and Leury at 2B instead of Cesar who I hate. But chances are Engel isn't going to be healthy.

AND THAT'S A BENCH CLEARING WHITE SOX WINNER!!!

But why hit a guy when you're up 0-2 in the 9th inning and just worked your way back from down 6 runs to down 1 in the bottom of the 8th? It doesn't make any sense. Not to mention, Wright hit a guy (who basically hit himself) with 2 men on. Such an obvious non intentional HBP. Retaliating in that scenario requires a pretty poor understanding of the game. They didn't hit Abreu intentionally. They did, however, pitch him inside intentionally which obviously comes with a higher chance of a HBP. Until the Sox start protecting Jose by doing what he did or throwing at opposing teams, opponents are going to continue to do that to Jose because it is the most effective way to pitch him. -

That being said, don't blame Jose one bit for his reaction. Its got to get tiring, and he's been scuffling. Taking a 95 mph FB on the elbow cap can't feel good. He almost boiled over last week when he took one square on the forearm. -

I really don't think the Tigers hit Abreu on purpose. I think they (like everyone else) were pitching him tight inside. But I don't think there was any malice to the pitch. The situation didn't really make sense for it. -

Do suspensions carry over into the playoffs? I worry about this weekend. Even if we have someone like Mike Wright or Matt Foster put one into Miggy's ribs, I worry more about the bench clearing fracas and suspensions from that. Sox could not even re-instigate but the Tigers pitchers very well may. -
Do we really think further expansion is going to happen? That would be so awful. I hated the 2nd wild card, and have at least come around to that. But adding another 2 teams would be TURRRRRRIIBBBBLLLLLEEEEE

Seriously? The first sentence is spot on. The 2nd two are comical AF as it related to Jose. -

Because IT IS 5.32 with the Sox. That is probably why haha. -
Yeah, the Iowa restrictions are brutal. Sorry to hear that.

Let's rattle off some Ws boys. Don't think we'll catch Houston, but it would be fun to make it interesting, and at least play some encouraging ball the last week.

I dropped YTTV about a year ago. Liked the service, but I live in MN and when they got into a spat with FSN and lost access, I went back to Comcast. It ended up close to a wash cost wise because Comcast was bending me over the chair for internet without TV. For baseball, assuming you don't have blackout issues, MLB.tv is the easy choice. I've used it for decades as an out of market fan. I may actually switch to mlb extra innings next year, but that is moreso because for some reason I am unable to figure out, MLB.tv buffers on every tv in my new house except the living room. So I am kind of stuck watching games there, which my wife certainly gets annoyed about. I'd love to watch the Sox in my basement or bedroom, but it just skips too much.

We're on the same page. He was definitely looking to make contact if Goodrum got in his way, but the slide was legal as you said. Honestly, I loved to see it. Team needed something like that. I was just in Cleveland and watched them play 4 pretty darn flat games after Thursday's clinch. Maybe this will light the fire under their ass they need heading into next week.

The "back half" of the pen isn't going to be on the playoff roster. I agree Keuchel should make a couple pen appearances the next 5 games as I don't see him making a start in the ALDS (hopefully at all - but may be necessary as I think Carlos is toast). But a playoff pen of Hendriks, Kimbrel, Bummer, Tepera, Kopech, Crochet, Lopez and Keuchel is far from dismal. -
He slid directly into the bag. Yes Goodrum was there, but if he really wanted contact, he could have slid inside the bag. In any event, I would large sums of money he isn't getting suspended.

The bullpen is going to be rested regardless. They have M/Tu/Wed/Sat off next week. -

By far the worst part of MLB.tv. Between that and having connectivity issues in certain parts of my new house, I think I am going to do the MLB package next year. Its only marginally more expensive, and you get mlb.tv with it too.
