  1. Why would the Indians trade Lindor to the White Sox? And why would the Indians have interest in a guy (Thompson) they could have just taken in the R5 draft?
  2. Its not, because there is a guy with the same name as that twitter as a poster here. And its not eyeballs guy.
  3. Seriously tho, I love the people that get made about minor league signings.
  4. This guy has a really unfortunate neck tat, if I remember correctly. I actually think he's hit the Sox decently in his career.
  5. @keikers43 is the twitter handle. Believe it is the poster @Kpet1010. Can't post twitter links atm, but basically said he got good info a trade is coming within 72 hours and its a big one. He admited it could be nothing, but he trusts his source. Seems to indicate in later tweets that it may be tied to the stinkybob twitter rumor about the Sox and Lindor. Probably nothing (especially if he's actually talking about Lindor), but just responding to the question.
  6. I haven't read a ton about his restructure, but didn't basically all/most of his $29M guarantee just become performance bonuses? Why would anyone want to acquire Cespedes because even if he somehow performs, you're going to be paying out your nose for it. I doubt the Mets would cover all that upside - if they're gonna pay for it, I'm sure they're rather be the recipients of the good play.
  7. Imagine being a Twins fan right now. The Twins are smack in the middle of their window and are being equally as cheap as the Sox. Can't wait for that team to crash back to earth in 2020.
  8. Not really struggling, I just don't really think we'll see him hit 25+ homers. I think 15-18 range. Something like .275/.315/.450 sounds about right for his rookie year. Hope he walks a little more than he's shown in the minors. But plugging that in CF with + defense is such a huge step in the right direction. I definitely think he'll put up better slash lines as he matures, but hitting mlb pitching is really hard.
  9. Mazara. I'd be surprised if Robert will hit more than 20 homers in the bigs next season.
  10. I would be HAMMERING the over on 34 Eloy homers.
  11. Mazara is a considerably better defender than Castellanos. Castellanos is a poor defender. Mazara is merely average.
  12. Smoak nothing exciting, but super cheap deal. $4M in 2020 with a $1M buyout on a $5.5M team option for 21.
  13. @Y2Jimmy insinuating on Twitter earlier that Sox also had a “significant” offer out to Miley. But he wanted to be with former pitching coach.
  14. I am not one to get worked up about minor league deals, but I hope this guy doesn't throw a pitch for the 2020 White Sox.
  15. And will likely remain as such until 2021.
  16. Just a suggestion. A guy on a market rate deal for 1 season doesn't exactly have a boatload of value either. But yah, I agree...the Cubs aren't going to give him away.
  17. As painful as it is, I think you wait out the market on Ryu on 3/$60M or less or Keuchel at 3/$55M or less. If someone gives them 4, you put bandaids on it for a year. Trade something like Sheets or Gonzalez for Q, sign Wood or Teheran and call it a day. Don't particularly see why they haven't at least added the 1 year backend guy yet though. Seems to me it may take them look a little less desperate.
  18. Will Harris will turn 36 during the 2020 season. He will probably require a 3 year deal. He's been really good, but if he requires a three year deal....WOOF.
  19. Yah, its certainly not exciting, but at least have some young arms that could turn into something. Frankly the FA market for pen arms is disgustingly bad, so for better or worse, I think the Sox basically plan to stick with internal options.
  20. I think Vaughn + Madrigal, maybe with a lottery pick would be about as good of a package as the Rays could hope for in return for Snell. Not saying I'd be banging down their door to make the trade if I am Hahn, but it seems fair. I am sure they'd want Robert, but they're not getting him.
  21. I guess I could too, but I don't really see a Price/Beni deal as remotely realistic.
  22. If the Sox add a 2B and a DH option, do you think Collins just starts in AAA? Not sure how he fits into the mix at all if we add a DH option.
  23. I wouldn't have a single qualm in the world with a 3/$54M deal for Keuchel. I just don't see it as super likely.
  24. At least Keuchel is a ground ball machine. Bumgarner is a flyball pitcher. TERRIBLE fit for our ballpark.
