  1. Sounds like competitive balance pick also going to Seattle....which still doesn't seem like enough to add $6M in salary to go from one 1B to another.
  2. With that being said, I don't see the motivation from the Mariners end. They just picked up like $6M in additional salary to flip Santana into Encarnacion. Indians and Rays don't seem to be the types that would kick in $, so there must be more going to the Mariners.
  3. I am sure there is more, but from what I can piece together: Indians Recieve: Carlos Santana (2 years and $35.5M left) and Jake Bauers Mariner Recieve: Edwin Encarnacion (2 years $41.6M left) and competitive balance pick Rays Receive: Yandy Diaz and PTNL
  4. Interesting, if anyone finds a true scouting report, please post.
  5. .396 career minor league OBP is definitely not terrible. Already 26 thought, and minimal power.
  6. Hmmm. I assume there are many more moving parts to this deal. Not sure why the M's would want EE.
  7. There aren't many options. The best option for a 5th starter may be a guy already in our system.
  8. You aren't winning the bidding at $33 AAV per in the early years. He is going to get a heavily front loaded contract with an opt out after 4-6 years. The backend of whatever contract he signs will only matter if he ends up regressing significantly. He is going to want to set himself up to hit FA again in his early 30s, if he wants to at that point.
  9. I would be astonished if the Sox gave Harper an opt out before the conclusion of year 5 (which still allows him to hit FA again at age 31). Giving him an opt out after year 3 would be insane. Why even bother? He'll be a FA a season after this team is supposed to hit its grove.
  10. I do think the Sox plan to get try to get both. I think having one in hand could help alot with the other. But the odds are awfully long that they'd get both to come.
  11. Lucky you, he’s not a FA!
  12. Yolmer is a good utility man that was clearly overmatched in full time duty. He’s also not going to be that cheap anymore. He’s a fine player, but he’s not nearly valuable enough to acquire 2 years of JBJ. Sorry.
