  1. I hear ya. The ownership of this organization makes it very hard.
  2. I'm excited as hell. Its all about what you make of it. This is nothing more than a hobby of watching grown men in goofy outfits running around on grass playing a game on a daily basis, after all. If you cannot enjoy it, probably best to step away (not directly at you really, but just in general).
  3. I think Hahn made himself pretty clear yesterday that Clevinger wouldn’t be here if the org had the choice. He basically said it without saying it multiple times. Definitely recommend all Sox fans take the 35 mins and listen to the presser.
  4. Sure. Seems to me if Padres turn down 2/$32M, he's likely hurt or was not good. If that scenario, he's probably taking the guaranteed $18.5M. Sure there is some wiggle room between that and 2/$32M, but its a pretty fine line.
  5. Not really a $7.5M deal at all. He's guaranteed at least $26M via the player options if the Pads turn down the 2/$32M after 2023.
  6. Yep, kinda figured just wasn't positive. Guess it will be telling on Liam if they don't put him on it. Fingers crossed for good news.
  7. Honest question I should know the answer to, but I am not 100% sure - if you were to place Liam and/or Crochet on 60 day IL today, are they available 60 days from today or 60 days from Opening Day? I would assume 60 days from today, but not 100% confident in that. Hahn seemed optimistic on Crochet yesterday, and also seemed to hint towards Liam being available at some point. Sounds like Liam will be in camp a good amount, but they won't give any sort of timeline until closer to Opening Day.
  8. Turns out this was just a rumor and not accurate. Hahn addressed this in his media availability yesterday and I quote "I don't suspect you'll see him (TLR) here - perhaps we can get him out to come sit and watch a game or something....to enjoy some ball." Pretty blunt and clear.
  9. Thank you very much for sharing that video.
  10. Tough way to go about fandom. Just look for things to be miserable about daily for 50+ years. Woof.
  11. Very little was shared that you isn't already public. She has a meeting with MLB on Friday. She tried to get Mike to go to rehab and was willing to sign an NDA to do it. The White Sox have not been in contact, but she said didn't think they could. Never got a response from the Padres. Clevinger likes drugs. Possible Jake Cronenworth overheard the incident as he was in room next door.
  12. Clevinger's ex is about to be interviewed on the Score.
  13. That's the first I have heard that and that certainly changes things. I thought Clevinger was going to do a media session? Did not end up not happening?
  14. Crochet at 75% of his normal self is still a very useful middle reliever.
  15. Great news. People in here were saying not to count on him for anything this season as recently as like a week ago.
  16. Well, I mean...if he disclosed it he wouldn't have been signed. Therefore, anyone can understand why he didn't say anything even if it wasn't the right thing to do. But pushing around your GF and throwing a spitter at your child also isn't the right thing to do, soooooo
  17. So you'd rather they release him before the league speaks and beg for a lawsuit from both Clevinger and the players union? This position makes no sense.
  18. It’s not up to him at the moment. The league has to speak before the Sox can do much of anything.
  19. I mean, I acknowledged the two playoff series wins. They got the Sox beat there. But no one is hanging banners for winning a division series. The two clubs have remarkably similar regular seasons the last 3 years; both have 0 pennants and 0 World Series. Yes, one owner and GM has balls, and the others doesn't. Most certainly was not a post in support of those 2. But the Padres are talked about like some model franchise, and frankly, results wise the Sox are right there with them over the past several seasons.
  20. There are better ways to speed up the game though. Pitch clock (coming), cutting down on pitching changes (already in effect), shorter commercial breaks (god forbid!), making the batters stay in the box (and actually enforce it). I could go on. It is what it is, and I get how marathon games aren't great for the players but at least give the game 2 more innings to finish organically before this BS.
  21. The White Sox have won more games that the Padres both the last 2 and 3 seasons combined. Preller is mad man. I certainly admire his style from a distance. But to this point, the Padres have had limited success, just like the Sox. They did make the NLCS las season, but otherwise look remarkably similar to the White Sox production wise over the last 3 seasons with just 2022 and 2021 seasons flip flopped.
  22. FIFY. What are we even doing here?
