QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 07:47 AM) Is that including his A+ numbers? Ya, but over his last 10 days (all AA), he's hitting .317/.391/.537
  2. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 07:38 AM) He was definitely KCs ace... That 3.53 FIP screams ace
  3. Anybody that thinks James Shields was ever an ace is crazy. David Price was the ace of those Rays teams, Shields has always been a compliment.

Over his last 28 days, Adam Engel is hitting .310/.389/.480. That's pretty encouraging. Even if he can maintain a low .700s OPS, he provides a ton of value in his defense and base running.

QUOTE (Vance Law @ Jun 6, 2016 -> 10:49 PM) He has hit a tiny tiny bit better than Carlos Sanchez, and worse than Leury Garcia at AAA. And his defense isn't better than them. In what universe does it make any sense to bring him up? Oh boy...
  6. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jun 6, 2016 -> 05:30 PM) And there's the whole Dave Wilder situation. Many many Dominicans went on to become stars. How many did the Sox have. None that I can recall. Sox seemed to think Venezuela was the place to be because of the past results maybe. Luis Aparicio, Chico Carrasquel, Freddy Garcia, Ozzie Guillen Magglio Ordonez. Even now they have Quintana, Carlos Sanchez, Avisail Garcia and Dionner Navarro all from Venezuela. Quintana is from Colombia.

Tim Anderson is good. He should be on the Sox.
  8. Anyone have an idea why there are some rumblings the Sox are going to stay away from Collins?
  9. Hey atleast we have the draft to look forward to this week
  10. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 12:03 PM) Yeah I don't get the avi hate either. Hasn't been great but certainly better than the alternatives. 2/5 in this series. You dont get the Avi hate? Really? Have you actually closely watched him play? Did you see that SORRY defense in yesterdays game? Have you noticed that his 2016 is identical to his career line? He now has 1270 career plate appearances at the major league level and .261/.310/.385. A guy you were depending on to be a corner outfielder or DH isn't even putting up a .700 OPS. That's bad. Performances like that (and continuing to give players like him chances) are why this offense sucks balls.
  11. Avi should be benched for that horses*** effort on Victors single
  12. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 02:45 PM) Eaton RF Saladino SS Frazier 3B Abreu 1B Shuck CF Lawrie 2B Rollins DH Garcia LF Avila C Holy s*** that lineup is trash. You're really going to bring up Kahnle over a guy like Coats? This is the perfect opportunity to give him a shot. It's almost like they don't value winning division games.
  13. Small sample size, but Carlos has a 2.31 ERA over the last 14 days (2 starts). 4 of his 5 starts in May he gave up 3 or less runs.
  14. I see no reason to rush Delmonico. He's having a great year and he's only 23. Let him get his feet under him and build confidence this year. Next year he fights for a spot.
  15. The sellers picture is becoming a little bit clearer now that we are into June. I think we've identified the weaknesses of our team at this point. If you were KW/Hahn, how would you go about addressing the Sox weaknesses for the last couple months of the season? A couple names I'd like the Sox to look at trading for: -Arodys Vizcaino: Absolutely on fire right now, you can bring him in to set up Robertson and even take some saves when Robertson isn't available. Allows you to push Jones to the 7th inning and use your lefties a little more situationally. Also controllable for the next 3 seasons and atlanta is definitely looking to sell. -Steve Pearce: Despite a reasonable run differential, the Rays are buried in the East with a ton of injuries. Steve Pearce is on a 1 yr deal and is having himself quite a solid season. He is crushing lefties and is an OBP machine with positional versatility. I think the Sox could get him for pretty cheap and he would be a nice rotational piece. -Kole Calhoun: Angels are a mess and need to rebuild around Trout. Calhoun is a tradeable asset that could net them a solid prospect haul. A lefty bat with some pop and a plus defender that you could slide into LF. I think he would probably cost Fulmer+, but I would give that a long, hard look. -Sean Doolittle: Not sure we need another lefty in the pen, but he would absolutely be the best we'd have if they did that trade. Gives you an option in the 8th, peripherals check out, though his HR/FB is a touch high.
  16. Kinda curious to not bring in a lefty to face the lefties in the order...
  17. If Eaton and Abreu arent hitting, this is a bottom 3 offense. Cant rely on Frazier to carry you all season.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 03:40 PM) https://twitter.com/MetsUmp/status/738106786952155136 lol, right down the middle
  19. I dont think you can keep batting Abreu at the top of the order while he's slumping. If Im Hahn, I am bringing up Coats and Hayes while Jackson is away and dropping Abreu down to 6th. Eaton CF Coats RF Cabrera LF Frazier 3B Hayes DH Abreu 1B Lawrie 2B Saladino SS Navarro C
  20. He's been lucky as f*** to roll all these double plays
  21. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 01:31 PM) So are we just going to ignore the fact that everyone in baseball struggles to hit Degrom? He's one of the best pitchers in baseball. He's throwing MEAT today
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 09:43 AM) The Dodgers were playing the Cubs at that moment in time... Why are you comparing the Sox and the Cubs though as if they are in the same division or even the same league? There is no correlation other than sharing the same city.
  23. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 09:35 AM) Granderson RF Cabrera SS Conforto LF Walker 2B Loney 1B Lagares CF Kelly 3B Rivera C deGrom P That's a lineup this team should beat. Let's take 2 and head to Detroit.
