Zack Collins agrees to deal with White Sox
QUOTE (raBBit @ Jun 27, 2016 -> 12:09 PM) I disagree. Collins will move quickly. He's very likely the first bat to make the MLB from this class. Catcher or not. Agreed. I think he sees the majors next season.

Off-day musings: 1/3 of the season done, 2/3 to go.
Are the Sox any worse off sending Coats down and giving Davidson a whirl at DH? Avi isn't getting the job done, maybe time to throw more s*** at the wall and see if it sticks? The team seems pretty intent on waiting for Morneau to get back to be the big bat they add, so the bottom of the order roster shuffle seems like the best way to try addressing it in the mean time. Coats is just sitting there on the bench doing absolutely nothing, get someone up here that might contribute something.

Prospect Reports from Winston-Salem w/ video
That velocity drop is really discouraging. He is definitely a guy I look to move at the deadline to bolster the major league lineup. They have enough pitching here now and coming up after him to make him expendable and he still offers enough upside to get a nice piece back.

The Second Wildcard
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 26, 2016 -> 07:03 PM) 5 of 6 with Sale only starting one of those games is really pushing it. Would just be happy with 4-2, with 3-3 the most likely scenario. Nope. You have Q, Shields, and Rodon going against the Twins and then Gonzalez, Sale, and Q against the Stros. Very doable to go 5-1 in that stretch. They will have 3 wins from the first series alone.

Zack Collins agrees to deal with White Sox
I'm not sure it happens, but wouldn't it be fun for the Sox to just live with Collins defense next year and add him and a guy like Encarncion to DH. That lineup would have so much firepower. Anderson SS Eaton RF Abreu 1B Encarnacion DH Collins C Frazier 3B Cabrera LF Lawrie 2B Jackson/May/Engel? CF The potential of that is scary

Tim Anderson
If he learns to take walks, he will be a superstar. If his game doesn't change at all, he will be a very good player. Solid defender, lightning quick bat, great baserunner. It's really fun to watch an exciting position player come up through the Sox farm system.

Zack Burdi debut in Winston-Salem - 102 mph fastball
Nice breakdown. Thanks for your hard work!

Pearce and Norris
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 25, 2016 -> 12:13 AM) Also Pearce just hit the DL and is expected to miss 3 weeks Oof, didn't see that. Scratch that idea then.

Pearce and Norris
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jun 25, 2016 -> 12:09 AM) Norris has been trash, I'd honestly stick with Avila/Navarro Massive pitch framing upgrade with a career best ISO and a career worst BABIP. I think he easily outperforms our current catching tandem.
-
Pearce and Norris
Both on bad teams, both in positions of need, both massive upgrades over what we have. The team is back to playing good ball, but they are paper thin right now. The bullpen needs work, but I think Burdi is up sooner than later. I really think they need to address C and DH ASAP. Avila is coming around but Navarro has been brutal. Would Norris even cost that much? The years of control might make him a little more expensive, but he's not lighting the world on fire. His defense would be a huge boost though and I think his SLG would look good at the Cell.

6/24 Games
So Seby is kinda looking like a dude, huh?

White Sox Winner !!!
Would be seriously awesome if we could get a DH and bullpen piece extremely soon

Chicago White Sox vs Toronto Blue Jays 6/24/16
You really get exposed for how thin you are when you someone like Abreu goes down. Unless Rodon spins an absolute gem tonight, they stand almost no chance of winning this game.

6/23 Games
A lot of interesting names to follow down on the farm now. Cant wait to see what the updated top 30 looks like.

The myth of Rick Hahn, Master Negotiator
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 05:57 PM) What else is Rick Hahn good at? I never said he can't be, he has done a good job with those 3 contracts (jury's out on Abreu now), but that he's some magical Jesus walking on water and raising Lazarus from the dead....the Joe Maddon of GM's with mystical powers, just not seeing that at all. Jury is still out on the guy that has hit .296/.357/.521 over 3 seasons, but Francisco Lindor is already the second best player in the AL after roughly a season? Lol, ok pal.

Blow It Up
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 03:50 PM) What could we realistically get for Sale, Q, Robertson, Melky, Frazier, Lawrie? The best farm system in baseball by a large margin. We shouldn't do that though as others here have already said. Nothing is wrong with the organization and failure is totally cool on the south side. We are super lucky to even be allowed to watch this team. Now get out to the stadium you terrible fans.

Blow It Up
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 06:56 AM) So because you think the Sox suck, the ideal thing to do is trade everyone away and because these players suck, teams will give you better players making less money, just because. If your goal is to have them suck , they are there. I don't know why you differentiate being trying to win and not trying to win. A bad record puts you in the same place. This isn't the Cubs who did most of their rebuild through some trades. You could trade Sale and Q and Rodon and Abreu and get some good prospects, but then what.? The Cubs spent half a billion on free agents. And even in a rebuild you will be pissed off. It was quite clear the Sox were rebuilding the second half of 2013 and 2014. That didn't seem to stop people from b****ing about losing . I actually think some people are afraid of the Sox ever being good. Ya, I think the fanbase is much more worried about never being good again than being good

Blow It Up
Nothing left to say. This team is getting f***ing EMBARRASSED by the division. EMBARRASSED. Trade off f***ing everyone not on a rookie contract and hope the next GM/president tandem can get their fists out of their asses. What a f***ing joke this has become. I'm embarrassed to be a fan of this team.

What Exactly is "The Plan"?
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 17, 2016 -> 11:57 PM) Half Measures. It's what they do. Try to strike lightning in a bottle. I'm not one of these people that wants to sell everything but they should probably raise the payroll by $40 million or rebuild. Can't keep going halfway. That bulls*** JR spewed this week is an absolute slap in the face to this fanbase. You will do anything to win? How do you plan to do that? Spend money? You didn't do it when you could actually do it in the offseason when a bunch of solid players were right there for you, why has it changed all of the sudden? Are you going to trade prospects? You don't have enough to get players of need like a Lucroy. Wanna know why you don't have those prospects? Because you have never spent big in Latin America and you always need to rush any prospects with a semblance of competency to the majors Bc your major league team is always razor thin. I've never been much for blowing it up, but looking at the big picture of this entire thing right now, it's probably the best thing for the franchise. Start building around Anderson, Rodon, Fulmer, Collins, etc. and get a kings ransom for every other worthwhile player on this roster. You could honestly be ready to compete by the time that 2018 FA class rolls around and add big pieces to a team full of young, cheap talent. This team is going nowhere.

What Exactly is "The Plan"?
The Sox have a bunch of great pieces, but don't look any bit a contender as presently constructed. I'm tired of the Robin debate. We all know he's a mediocre manager, but he's only a part of the problem. You have players that underperform all. thee. f***ing. time, you have a really poor advanced scouting department, a poor pro development system...what is the plan here? Obviously this "going for it" strategy has blown up in their face...again. Are they going to try maximizing the last 3 years of these sweetheart deals or sell and give this fanbase a chance at something more than just poorly thrown together .500 seasons? I know they're not technically out of it now, but their performance against the division is absolutely abysmal, embarrassing even. What is the plan here? I don't see a plan. This looks like a directionless franchise which is perhaps the most frustrating part about this entire thing.

6/17 Games
I'm just going to make Great Falls my follow now for the rest of the season. Hope Fisher or Call prove to be more than organizational filler. Fisher looks like he can stroke it some.

Robin Ventura should be fired today
Don't worry, the Sox are about to lose their next 6 straight and he'll be gone. They don't stand a chance against the Red Sox and Salazar and Carrasco playing the type of garbage ball they've been playing for the last month and a half.

Curbelo looks like a nice player, I will be very interested to follow him through the minors
