  1. I would turd my pants if the Sox somehow got Robles
  2. Nice list Matt. IMO, I might have Peter and Zavala a tad higher, but otherwise I tend to agree with your rankings. With Anderson gone now, I think my top 15 would look like: 1.) Zack Collins 2.) Carson Fulmer 3.) Alec Hansen 4.) Spencer Adams 5.) Adam Engel 6.) Zach Burdi 7.) Trey Michalczewski 8.) Alex Call 9.) Jordan Stephens 10.) Jameson Fisher 11.) Jordan Guerrero 12.) Micker Adolfo 13.) Jhoandro Alfaro 14.) Amado Nunez 15.) Matt Davidson?
  3. He's one that the Sox should definitely try to move, his peripherals absolutely suck.
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 01:18 PM) You think Kolek is an inadequate return? That would be highway robbery. In 130 IP, he has 4.55 ERA, 1.56 WHIP, 6.7 K/9, and 5.1 BB/9. In comparison, Spencer Adams, who was drafted in the same draft, has a 3.51 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, 7.3 K/9, and a 1.5 BB/9 in 284 IP and is currently in AA. From everything I've seen, not a lot of people regard Spencer Adams as that great of a prospect, so Im not even sure what I would consider Kolek. A guy that throws hard but has no control and despite his velo, doesnt strike out a lot of people? On top of that, he now has health problems? Not that interested.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 12:35 PM) It wouldn't be just to trade him. It would be to take advantage of a imbalanced market place on a guy that isn't really in your plans anyway. Honestly, I still expect him to self-destruct at any time. Oh Im not opposed at all to trading him, Im perfectly fine with that, I just dont think they should trade him for garbage. As you point out, there is a massive imbalance in the market place and there is no reason to let this guy go for a 20 year old out with Tommy John. I dont think he nets anything crazy, but he has value as a competent back end innings eater. I dont see the Marlins as a good trading partner because they really have no interesting pieces. If another team stepped up with something interesting, Im all ears.
  6. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 12:07 PM) They won't be moving Sale or Q anytime soon I think you'll be surprised.
  7. Why would you trade Gonzalez just to trade him? He has more value to the Sox than a team like the Marlins, especially if they move Sale or Quintana.
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 11:09 AM) When you're a lame duck like Robin, you allow players to do it. Really shows how Robin isn't in control of the clubhouse whatsoever. False, the very reason Robin is here is because he is a great clubhouse manager. The best really.
  9. Marlins have absolutely nothing to trade. Miguel Gonzalez has actually been really good for the Sox.
  10. Chance, Young Thug, and 2 Chainz at the Cell? There.
  11. This is going to be an ugly series. Why not throw Fulmer Wednesday?
  12. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 09:11 PM) Red Sox on various other forums think he'll be a salary dump only lol Was going to come in and say that I realize he's had a couple rocky moments lately, but I really hope the FO doesn't just dump him to dump him. He still has a ton of value if they plan to fill some offensive holes next year and make another run at it.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 08:29 PM) He can't be traded until after the World Series, and cannot be a PTBNL in any trade made before that point in time. Didn't Trea Turner get traded right after getting drafted a few years ago?
  14. Zack Collins seems to have a personal grudge with baseballs http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20160724
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 24, 2016 -> 12:36 PM) Benintendi has played 144 pro games-- 35 doubles, 15 triples, 18 homers, 25 sb, .916 OPS Get me that guy. Ball player. I'd be psyched if he was part of any package, he's going to be a beast
  16. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jul 23, 2016 -> 08:46 PM) No, but it is pretty damn funny. It's actually incredibly embarrassing for the team and fanbase.
  17. We having fun yet Sox fans? Really makes you want to get out to the stadium, huh?
  18. Jordan Stephens is mowing down Potomac. 4 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K
  19. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 05:17 PM) Look at what this idiot Red Sox fan said on one of my other forums. Sale owns a 2.29 ERA and a WHIP under 1.0 in 39 IP with 10 BB and 45 K's vs the Red Sox. Their fanbase is full of f***ing retards.
  20. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 03:44 PM) Not so much a power struggle but the dynamic is strained. Ah, ok. Thank you for the clarification!
  21. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 03:07 PM) FYI, when Rick was hired it was always understood that Kenny would eventually step away. He was supposed to, but never has. Wasnt there kind of a big power struggle behind the scenes because of this exact thing last season?
  22. Tonight is going to be the night that takes a lot of really stiff drinks to enjoy
  23. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 01:45 PM) After an ugly second half last year and this year he's been equal to Frazier, so this board would hate him. He also has more concerns now than he did going into last year. I'd still trade for him as part of a package. I definitely would like for him to be manning CF for the Sox. That type of production of out CF is a nice plus.
  24. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 12:16 PM) Ok, such as former sure-fire thing Joc Pederson who has crashed and burned since his AS appearance. Or Gordon Beckham, someone that Derek Jeter and Steve Stone would be a multiple MVP award winner and was picked for the 2010s all-decade team, with elite defense and bat speed. I'm not saying don't make the deals, but don't expect them to be surefire successes either. Joc Pederson has put up 4.3 fWAR, 39 HR, and a wRC+ of 113 in a season and a half. That's pretty damn good.
  25. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 22, 2016 -> 10:49 AM) People aren't going to be able to deal with a full rebuild. Just look at the facts. 2014 was a rebuilding season, how many people complained about Konerko taking the 25th spot and ruining "roster construction"? They weren't going to win, I thought people didn't care. And many who have said this season is over are complaining Jacob Turner is starting tonight. That's what you get in a rebuild. Guys like Jacob Turner starting, for years. People werent complaining about Jacob Turner because a rebuild was in order, people were complaining about Jacob Turner starting because he was starting out of the all-star break when people were still thinking the team was going for it.
