He's a disaster. He'd fit in swimmingly here.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 05:21 PM) and a partridge in a pear tree You aren't asking for much are you? I am interested in this kids defense and his speed. I think Shuck did a decent job filling in for Jackson but was starting to falter He was an awful replacement for Jackson by every imaginable metric

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 04:37 PM) There's one thing that I want from this season, the firing of Robin Ventura. Too much bad fundamental baseball and in game managing decisions over the past 4 years. Should've already happened. Definitely no chance it happens now, season is already over.

QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 04:09 PM) The Cardinals 12th overall prospect becomes the White Sox 5th overall prospect & comes up the first chance he can. This team is crap.

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 03:26 PM) I feel like I'm experiencing an alternate reality or something. You guys are acting like this team is 20 games under .500 and has a bunch of pending free agents. Again, I understand the opinion that the team should rebuild, but I don't understand why everyone is acting like it's unbelievable that they aren't selling. It's very believable. They didn't "blow" anything, they just made a different decision than you wanted. Of course it's believable, every single one of us knew deep down that this FO would stick to the status quo. This is why even your GM comes out and says you are "mired in mediocrity". The White Sox are currently ranked 27th in offense, 12th in pitching, and 19th in defense and are 2 games out of a top 10 pick. What should we be hanging our hat on here? That we have "special talent"? What good is special talent if you never make a concentrated effort to surround them with talent? This is the third season in a row you've been able to build around Sale, Quintana, Eaton, and Abreu and you havent. Should we believe this front office is going to spend their way into contention this offseason? I dont think anybody in this fanbase is that gullible. They had every opportunity to add people this offseason and they failed MISERABLY. Even with these core guys on board for next season, who the hell are they planning on replacing them with when they leave? There isn't anyone waiting in the wings. How are the Sox planning on improving here? They had an opportunity to take advantage of a sellers market and they didnt, that's why people are saying they blew it. There is real concern that there is no long term picture for this organization by a large part of the fanbase.

This is the guy they've been playing in the OF since their starting CF went down on Memorial day. Over 2 months of a -1.0 win player. Great urgency again from the front office.
-
Unf***ingbelievable.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 11:49 AM) Because the 3rd OF is on the DL. Probably something that should've been addressed 2 months ago
-
Should tell you everything you need to know about the direction this organization is about to take. That 4th OFer you just traded for immediately is your starting CFer.
-
So you just bring Tilson up, right?

QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 01:57 PM) I am not sure I buy this logic. Sox are the type of team that places a value on each asset and wont budge past what they assess that value at. They aren't a team that makes moves on emotion. I think they've gauged the value for Robertson, Sale, Quintana, Duke, Frazier, Cabrera, etc. They probably have offers in place. With a guy like Robertson, they're very much pushing to move him and they're probably holding out until they're sure they have the best possible offer in hand. On guys like Q/Sale, they have a price, and they are waiting for that price to be met. Maybe some team succombs to the Sox demands with the deadline approaching, maybe they don't. I really don't see a point to moving DRob if they are planning on going for it again next year which they are if they aren't moving Sale or Q
-
I really thought something was going to happen by now, but the more I see tweets and whispers, the more I think this deadline is going to be another f***ing dud. What is supposed to motivate this fanbase anymore? Serious question.
-
Id take any of their top 3 prospects or maybe Dilson Herrera
-
The guy just gave up Anderson Espinosa for Drew Pomeranz. He definitely knows it will take those guys to get close to a reasonable package. All this really tells me is that there is almost definitely some dialogue going on between the teams and he is posturing trying to bring down the price. Problem is, he really has no leverage.

Sources say DD offered Sandoval, Owens, and a signed Big Papi headshot in a take it or leave it final offer for Sale. Hahn currently mulling it over.

Top White Sox Prospects, Midseason 2016 - Players 16-30

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 26, 2016 -> 10:46 PM) I'm guessing that Davidson and Alfaro aren't in the top 30. I would imagine that Delmonico is. I hope Curbelo is the last name because leaving him out of the top 30 is nuts. Keith Law had him #49 in the entire draft and he was highly regarded by others as well. I think those are the names I would have off too. I think Alfaro has a chance to be pretty good, but he's still too far away. Not sure what to make of Curbelo yet. -
QUOTE (shipps @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 03:51 PM) That is why I would never want to trade with Boston. I think they always felt they could get Sale for second tier minor league talent. Why? I have no idea. Because they ah the friggin Bahston Red Sawx
-
I see no possible way they win this game

QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 10:09 AM) Assuming we stay the course and go for it again in 2017, 2018 looks kind of scary. They have only a handful of position players under control...Abreu, Eaton, Anderson, Saladino...that is a lot of holes to fill somehow. I dont think it's that scary. You have your core of those guys, plus you will be adding atleast Collins, Engel, Trey M, and maybe Jake Peter and you should have enough flexibility to add in FA and trade for other pieces.
-
QUOTE (shysocks @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 10:09 AM) Unlike them, Robertson might be entering his decline and could become a bad contract pretty quick. If we can get a nice piece for him it wouldn't be a bad idea to do so. Im in total agreement with you. I think you shoot for a guy like Robles or Lopez and go from there. If you go Lopez, you can immediately put him in the rotation or bullpen. Robles has much bigger upside, so Sox are definitely going to need to add money there.
-
QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Jul 27, 2016 -> 09:24 AM) I don't think Robertson is worth much but hopefully I am pleasantly surprised. Like Sale and Q, there is literally zero reason to trade him if they arent offered a package to their liking. Why would they just give him away? They dont need to dump salary.
-
Robertson to the Nats is an intriguing option. They could shoot for the stars and ask for Robles. They could also not throw in cash and try to get a package of Reynaldo Lopez and maybe try buying low on Taylor.
-
I would happily throw in cash to get Robles in that deal. Maybe send $8-10 million with Robertson and I think you should be able to get a pretty nice package.
-
Still kinda of surprised the Sox didnt give Fulmer a chance to spot start and haven't really used him out of the pen at all. Hope Ranaudo can keep it going, but not getting my hopes up.
-
Kinda sucks the Sox could've got Bj Upton for a song and missed that opportunity. He's having a really nice season.
