Jon Heyman: Sox have little interest in moving Sale or Quintana

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 9, 2016 -> 08:40 AM) I don't think they would trade Seager straight up for Sale right now... B/c Seager is a legitimate MVP candidate and infinitely more valuable -
Having Narvaez as one of your two catchers definitely makes me much more confident in the depth of the roster next season if they decide to go for it.

Great write up Brian, that is an information packed post. Personally, I'm intrigued the most by seeing just how advanced Collins bat is and seeing what some of these relievers have to offer (Cooper and Clark in particular). It is still really shocking to me we havent seen Goldberg at all at the major league level. He really should've been getting a look after the break.

The relatively fast movers from the 2016 draft class kinda make this whole offseason situation interesting. Offense is definitely first and foremost the thing to fix with the biggest needs being DH, CF, and C. You drastically need an infusion of OBP and SLG to this team. Do you try signing a guy like Edwin Encarnacion, a known asset that brings both, or do you maybe rush Collins up to start DHing next season? I'd rather them sign Encarnacion and let Collins work his way up slowly and maybe come up after the break next season as a catcher. The bullpen should be fine and you should definitely see an improvement if you put Burdi out there to replace Albers. Still think it's worth going after someone like Ra -
THEE Juan Minaya? Get on your feet Sox fans!

If I wanted to waste $25, I'd just burn it and save myself the train ride

Cant trade our top talent because they are too valuable and cant sign difference makers because of our s***ty farm system and $$. This is some position management and the FO has put the Sox in. -
This draft class is f***ing LIT

DRob, man on 3rd, 1 out...seen this story before Edit: Lol, right as I post this

Why are you pitching to JD Martinez there?

Abreu finally gets the OPS over .800 again

I think in Saladino, Tilson, and Narvaez, you've established that you have some decent backups for next year (well not so much Tilson, but he sounds like his skill set will play nicely as 4th OF). What you really need is a DH, CF, and C. I would personally go in pretty big on the first 2 and then bring back Avila at C.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 30, 2016 -> 04:25 PM) As someone who owns Fulmer on most of my fantasy teams (I know no one cares), I find it hard to see ROY go to anyone else. This guy has been nails. Thread hijack, it pisses me off seeing how well the Tigers did at the last deadline when they actually sold off on their assets. Something KW will never do. Tigers traded Cespedes, Price and Soria. They got Fulmer, Norris, Boyd, Jairo Labourt, Luis Cessa and Jacoby Jones. That's 3/5 of their rotation, a top ten prospect, a top twenty prospect and a prospect who has traded for Justin Wilson. That's for three expiring contracts (albeit three good ones). He's definitely been solid, but his numbers dont look much different from Carlos Rodon's all things considered and Sox fans havent been all that impressed with Rodon this season. His numbers make him look primed for regression.

Typo, obviously meant he's young for his level
-
QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 30, 2016 -> 12:41 PM) He's just 20 years old in AA. I'd give him some time. Although, his wikipedia page says he's 118. This. He's incredibly young for his age. People keep saying he won't have success at the next level, but he keeps pitching well at each after he adjusts. I dont ever expect him to be some staff ace, but their is tremendous value in Adams if he turns into a 4 or 5 someday.

I still think Fulmer and Naquin would have the edge right now and maybe Sanchez plays into the race if he sparks a NYY playoff run, but isn't Tim Anderson right there with these guys? From everything I can tell, Naquin's numbers are inflated by an incredibly high BABIP while Fulmer's peripherals aren't nearly as shiny as his ERA would have you believe. If Anderson has a solid September, I see no reason why he couldnt win ROY this year.

Adams with great stuff tonight. Very encouraging to see.

Gonna take a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time to come back from this season.

As if the product on the field wasn't cringeworthy enough.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Aug 10, 2016 -> 09:38 PM) Rodon hasn't exactly been close to what we thought he would be and probably could have used more time in the minors. He's been pretty solid so far. He's accumulated 3.4 fWAR in 41 starts (243 IP). Not crazy good, but solid for a 23 year old. I bet he makes a pretty nice jump next season.

I really like Narvaez

QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 9, 2016 -> 06:10 PM) How has he looked so far in the minor leagues? I thought I saw where at first he was struggling. Mark He's been a beast lately
