  1. Dakota Hudson would really be an underwhelming pick, I hope to god they stay away. If they do stick to college players, I hope Collins does drop and they have the ability to go underslot with him. I would be totally ok going prep player at 10 though, the crop this year seems to have really good upside. Any of Perez, Rutherford, Moniak, Pint, Jones, or Anderson would be fine with me. As a side note, why do people feel that Collins doesnt have the pop that Schwarber had? He has a better SLG% in a better baseball conference than Schwarber had when he was drafted. Also, how much of a disaster would last years draft have been if the Sox drafted Funkhouser? Woof.
  2. Thank god baseball is back. I was way too productive last night.

I dont think there is any rush, but if he keeps tearing it up, do you bat around the idea of bringing Anderson up in the middle of a pennant race?
  4. QUOTE (raBBit @ May 12, 2016 -> 12:44 PM) I was told the Sox were not impressed by Lincecum at his showing. Thank god. I was really hoping they wouldnt keep throwing junk at the wall and seeing what sticks. They need a solid RH #3 so they can move Rodon back to 4, and Latos to 5.

    Anderson 4-4 w/ a HR and a SB. Guys, I think he's getting comfortable.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 12, 2016 -> 09:45 AM) Attendance is definitely a trailing metric for the White Sox. 100K tickets were just purchased a week or two ago. Winning heals all wounds. The Sox should make a habit of it, they'd probably start drawing really well.

Cooper had a nice game last night
  8. Wait, this can't be true. The Sox have the worst fanbase in sports and no one watches or goes to games. Surely winning doesnt make a difference.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 11, 2016 -> 04:43 PM) Hayes and Coats aren't going to be getting regular at-bats, so it will be hard for them to maintain any type of offensive rhythm. We do need someone who can spell Abreu capably, though. He needed to be pinch-run for there in the 7th when he was obviously hurting...but apparently didn't tell anyone in the dugout or ask to be pulled. It's also not something I can ever remember the White Sox doing in competitive seasons. Bringing in untested rookies that weren't even Top 10-15 prospects and expecting them to deliver in crucial situations off the bench. Better off to bring back Shuck for Sands...and I'm not sure how Hayes is giving you much flexibility, other than the fact that he can probably play 1B better than Sands. Didn't Shuck also play 1B at least once last season? I don't remember saying they need to be in in crucial situations, only that they'd provide better depth.

I think it's time to send Sanchez back to AAA and DFA Sands. The bench needs more versatility and these guys are just brutal honestly. Give Hayes and Coats a try against this next part of the schedule and see if they can contribute to this team.
  11. Time to catch a breather and take 3 in New York.
  12. Even if the Sox lose this game, they are 4-2 vs. the Rangers for the season. That's good. It's a one run game, relax people.
  13. I'm ready for this team to get out of Texas.
  14. If he misses any considerable amount of time, this team is in a lot of trouble
  15. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 11, 2016 -> 09:46 AM) I don't have a good feeling about today. Latos + warm weather + a dangerous lineup = disaster I hope I'm wrong, but I just don't see it. I seem to remember a lot of people saying the same exact thing about his last start against the Rangers just a mere few weeks ago
  16. Everyone is acting like the Sox are running into a buzzsaw in Hamels. Sure, he's been a good pitcher in his career, but he's been pretty average so far this season. His BB% is way up, his HR/FB is way up, and his FIP and xFIP are much higher than his ERA. I dont actually know if he's much better than Latos right now in all honesty.
  17. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 11, 2016 -> 08:34 AM) What about Reddick and Doolittle from Oakland? What power LH relievers will be available because the Sox could use one. I'd be good with that combo, but Doolittle isn't exactly having a great season
  18. Still think the bullpen could use an upgrade. Would love to see the Sox go after one of the Yankees relievers, Chapman in particular.
  19. Rodon has not looked the part lately. Lack of control is really concerning.
  20. QUOTE (bmags @ May 10, 2016 -> 04:28 PM) Why do I feel like Beane will get the most out of Danish? Danish would be a solid pitcher in that park
  21. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ May 10, 2016 -> 04:01 PM) And that's why we're not likely to get Reddick. Unless a package containing Avi and Carlos Sanchez is able to beat out what the Cubs and other interested teams can offer. It's not going to take a top 50 prospect to get 2 months of Reddick. I'd do something along the lines of Adams+, but after that no thanks. With no chance of a qualifying offer, he will definitely hit free agency primed for a big pay day.
  22. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 10, 2016 -> 12:07 PM) If this is the real Avi, man, this lineup is dangerous...especially if Hahn adds another lefty bat like CarGo or Reddick. Problem with an add like that is who do you take ABs away from? Unless you move Eaton back to CF and Reddick to RF, you will be taking ABs away from either Melky or Avi. Both of which are hitting exceptionally well right now. They need improve out of SS the most IMO.
  23. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 10, 2016 -> 11:43 AM) I really doubt the Yankees are going to be sellers. I definitely see them moving people. They are awful this season.
  24. QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ May 10, 2016 -> 10:56 AM) Tanaka is pitching through a partially torn UCL. Tommy John is inevitable for him at some point. He's a major stay away for me. Ya, I'd be very wary of a deal for him myself, just throwing out ideas. What about Eovaldi?
  25. I wonder if the Yankees would have any interest in getting Tanaka off the books if they do intend of having a fire sale? Nolasco's peripherals dont look too bad this season and I'm sure the Twins wouldnt mind having him off the books. Not sure I would want him for another season or two, but could be worse.
