  1. Question is: why the f*** would you live in Granger, IN?
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 10:34 AM) Thompson in 100 Sept/Oct PA's .233/.310/.422/.732 That would still serve as the 3rd best OPS on our team, right? Garcia in 114 Sept/Oct PA's .208/.281/.307
  3. Figured I'd add a few: Offense 27th in OBP 29th in SLG 26th in BB% 26th in wRC+ 30th in WAR Pitching 6th in K/9 14th in BB/9 14th in ERA 9th in FIP 11th in xFIP 9th in WAR Starting Pitching 6th in K/9 11th in BB/9 14th in ERA 10th in FIP 12th in xFIP 5th in WAR AL Pitching Ranks 3rd in K/9 7th in BB/9 7th in ERA 3rd in FIP 4th in xFIP 3rd in WAR Fielding 28th in DRS 30th in UZR 27th in UZR/150 30th in Defensive score on Fangraphs Looks like the Sox have A LOT to work on in the offseason. Should be interesting to see how KW and Hahn plan to remedy those numbers because they are an absolute disaster.
  4. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 10:36 AM) Q for Frazier would be awful. I'm not opposed to trading for Frazier, but Q being involved doesn't make any sense. I think the Sox are capable of trading for him without giving up Q. Not even sure the Reds would want Q, they look like they are in the very beginning of a rebuild.
  5. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 09:53 AM) So the Sox ended up tied with the 10th worst record. Will they pick 10th or 11th? 10th
  6. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 08:36 AM) Yep. Stick him in RF. I just don't know what they would do with Avi. Deal him somewhere for another young player who has struggled a bit (either a pitcher or infielder)? Q for Puig is one of those trades that make so much sense, it will probably never happen. If they were able to swing it though, I would look to move Avi for a high leverage bullpen arm. Some people might see that as a downgrade in value, but I think it would be huge to move Jones to the 7th inning.
  7. Now that the dust on the season has settled, I'm keeping an eye on 3 guys at 10: Corey Ray Chris Okey Bobby Dalbec Interesting enough, Corey Ray is a Simeon product. Wouldn't that be something to see a young man from the south side come home and be a star. His game has all the makings of a star too. Speed, power, defense...he's my early favorite for the pick.
  8. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 4, 2015 -> 07:59 PM) I hope there's reports of the Sox going after both so that you can see, his value isn't as high as you or many people here like to think he is. To expand a bit as well, on talk radio here in LA, someone even brought up trading Puig for Quintana and they said not without another prospect or young hitting MLBer. When prospects were brought up, everyone said no to Seager or Urias for Quintana (they also talked about 4 other players as well). This was before the Dodgers got Latos and Wood. I mean, that's great LA talk radio feels that way, but fact is Quintana has been more valuable over the last 3 seasons than Puig (13.4 WAR vs. 10.9). Frazier has 2 years left on his contract and is 3 years older than Quintana. Quintana is the most valuable of the 3.
  9. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 4, 2015 -> 07:43 PM) Q is slightly overrated by anyone who thinks he can be the main guy in a deal for Seager or Arenado. Both guys are going to command Chris Sale or Q and a s***load of good prospects. The best you can get for Q is either going to be Frazier or Yasiel Puig (which you'd still send some middling prospects). Q is worth more than both Frazier and Puig
  10. QUOTE (Lillian @ Oct 4, 2015 -> 07:22 PM) I don't understand the keen interest in Heyward. This team desperately needs another power hitter. The Sox don't need another outfielder. Cabrera, Eaton and Thompson/Garcia should have the outfield covered. Spending all that money on a guy who hit about the same as Eaton, in what was the best year of his career, makes no sense to me. Why not go after someone like Chris Davis, if the front office was really to spend that kind of money? B/c this team drastically needs to improve it's defense and he's a top 5 defensive talent in the league. Couple that with his solid bat, and you get a big difference maker for this organization.
  11. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 4, 2015 -> 06:08 PM) They have CarGo and Blackmon in the OF. Avi would have a spot there. Micah isn't necessarily a 2B, he has the tools to be converted to something else. I know Beck was injured, so what? Doesn't mean he can't be traded. He's just a throw-in. Montas does need more time- when did I say he would be thrown right into their rotation? Fulmer has all-star potential as a SP. Ugh, Dickerson?
  12. QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ Oct 4, 2015 -> 05:53 PM) They need to make some kind of decision on Garcia, obviously. Shuck mightve replaced him as 4th OF
  13. Trade for Frazier. Sign Heyward. LaRoche to the bench, Melky to DH, Trayce to CF. LF Eaton RF Heyward 1B Abreu 3B Frazier DH Cabrera CF Thompson C Flowers SS Saladino 2B Sanchez SP Sale SP Quintana SP Rodon SP Johnson SP Danks CL Robertson SU Jones SU Duke RP Petricka RP Albers RP Putnam?
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 4, 2015 -> 04:56 PM) I'm ready to watch some good major league baseball the next month. This Sox team can go kiss my ass. This.
  15. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 4, 2015 -> 04:33 PM) The Angels are paying Josh Hamilton to knock them out of the playoffs That's ironic
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 4, 2015 -> 04:30 PM) Absolutely, and there are also rumors he's going to take a shorter deal so he's a FA again when he's 30 If that's true, the Sox should absolutely go after him.
  17. Apparently the Sox don't really wanna be players in Int'l free agency either @JesseSanchezMLB: Source: Giants and Eddie Julio Martinez, ranked #4 on @MLB int'l prospect list, have agreed to a $2.5 million deal. http://t.co/7cqNWTtPTy
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 4, 2015 -> 11:01 AM) Lineup https://twitter.com/CST_soxvan/status/650702032161087488 They're trying. Hopefully the Mariners will win a ballgame today. Too little, too late Robin. You already screwed the pooch on tanking.
  19. QUOTE (oldsox @ Oct 2, 2015 -> 08:07 PM) Eaton's OPS is .792. He's having an incredible season
  20. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Oct 2, 2015 -> 11:02 AM) You've been on the Heyward thing for awhile. No chance the Sox will be interested though. I respect the s*** out of his game and I know they were very interested last offseason. I agree it's incredibly unlikely, it would be a very welcome surprise though. I am ok with them going with FA without picks attached tho and trading. I just want the defense to get a lot better to compliment the pitching and not sacrificing as much hitting. In other words, I want the team to get close to perfect.
  21. You know what would be great? Having an OF of Eaton-Thompson-Heyward. Your team defense would be leaps and bounds better.
  22. What a bad message to send the fanbase
  23. Status quo as usual on the south side next season. http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/7/71/10...-returning-2016
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 1, 2015 -> 01:20 PM) Baseball America ‏@BaseballAmerica 1h1 hour ago Carson Fulmer didn't qualify for our Top 20 lists, but made an impression, @jjcoop36 writes. http://bba.am/PGHH8T Thank you for the clarification
