Still havent seen any confirmation that Hawk, Stone, or Robin will be back next year though....
-
Yikes, that is an ugly list.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 30, 2015 -> 03:33 PM) The big move this year will involved a 3B or C this year. I think the big move is for a third basemen whether it be a trade or in FA for a guy like Zobrist. I really see them trading for a catcher like Gary Sanchez or Austin Barnes and keeping Flowers as the backup.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 30, 2015 -> 03:18 PM) My guess is that the White Sox bring all four back next year (Eaton, Cabrera, Garcia, Thompson) and rotate them regularly based on who is hot and match ups, much like they have for the last couple of months. Thompson will play a lot early, but won't start. Eventually he will take a job from someone. It might even be that LaRoche is pushed out the door, and the DH becomes a part of that rotation so that Thompson play every day. What I don't see is the Sox dumping one of their current OFs (Cabrera, Eaton, Garcia). Definitely agree with you there. I think there will be some rotation and then when LaRoche is gone, Cabrera will slide into the DH role and the OF will be Eaton/Trayce/?.

QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 30, 2015 -> 12:14 PM) TT also hits the ball very hard. His BABIP may not be this high forever, but he has to have the highest exit velocity off his bat of anyone beside maybe Abreu. His max exit velocity was 115 mph

QUOTE (LDF @ Sep 30, 2015 -> 12:04 PM) with all due respect, but he teally didn't do much to warrant to being listed. imo. the sox kept him on a short leash. He threw roughly the same amount of innings as Bickford, Russell, and Nix and had better numbers the pretty much all of them. Edit: Oh, and Jon Harris -
Sox Mostly Missing From Baseball America Prospect Lists
Dunt replied to winninguglyin83's topic in FutureSox Board
So Carson Fulmer didnt make the SAL list? Lol, ok. -
My big question going forward is do the Sox keep Trayce in RF or move him to CF and have Eaton move to RF?
-
Should've had a HR too, but Cain made a ridiculous grab to rob him
-
Eaton is now leading all position players with 3.4 fWAR
-
Trayce is better in literally every aspect of the game. He's proven that RF is his next season.

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Sep 29, 2015 -> 09:44 AM) Fangraphs doesn't let you do seasonal splits by UZR, but it does let you do it by the overall defensive number they have. Overall: April: -11.3 May: -13.0 June: -9.7 July: -8.0 August: -8.2 September: -12.8 OF: April: -5.4 May: -9.2 June: -7.5 July: -8.3 August: -8.7 September: -9.2 Fangraphs allows you to split by OF but not by IF, but it looks like the infield defense actually had positive numbers in July and August (just going by the difference between the two numbers), but fell off considerably in September. I'd be interested to see our DRS values, but by UZR we were still by far the worst defensive team in baseball in the 2nd half. I wonder if those September numbers correlate to Olt seeing the bulk of the playing time over Saladino?

Zangari has a pretty quiet load. Also, that hook from Stephens is pretty nasty.
-
Shooting for that 8th pick. That will get you in range for a guy like Banks.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 08:55 AM) Cespedes is the only one that won't cost a draft pick. I think there's a slim chance the Sox will sign a QO free agent with a top 10 pick. I think there's zero chance they do it without a top 10 pick. I think it makes the most sense to keep those picks regardless, sign impact FA (ex. Zobrist & Kazmir) w/o pick compensation attached, and trade from your strength. That way, you improve the major and minor league product with very little additional cost to management.

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 08:13 AM) Dodgers wouldn't have much interest in Micah. They already have Peraza who has similar tools but younger and without the defensive struggles. Yup, forgot about that trade. Montas for Barnes might actually be an overpay, so 1:1 really wouldnt be out of the question.
-
Updated offseason list: 1.) Extend QO to Samardzija, he rejects it 2.) Trade Quintana, Montas, and Micah for Puig and Barnes 3.) Sign Zobrist 4.) Sign Kazmir 5.) Resign Albers CF Eaton 3B Zobrist RF Puig DH Abreu 1B LaRoche LF Cabrera C Barnes 2B Sanchez SS Saladino BE Thompson BE L. Garcia BE Flowers BE A. Garcia? SP Sale SP Kazmir SP Rodon SP Johnson SP Danks CL Robertson SU Jones SU Duke RP Petricka RP Putnam RP Albers No picks lost, payroll isn't much higher than it is this season, offense is massively upgraded, Anderson can slide in midseason at SS if he's tearing up AAA, and pitching shouldnt see a massive drop off.

Them batting Thompson cleanup for these games says basically everything we need to know about Avi next year, right?
-
You guys remember when Hector Santiago was an allstar this year and a bunch of people said that was an awful trade for Hahn. Lol @ those people.

Trayce should 100% be the starting RF next year. Dude is earning it. -

Sale needs to relearn how to be a pitcher again next season and not a thrower. Dude has been getting pummeled all September because he thinks he can get by on a 98 mph fastball. Completely abandoning the slider again like April. -
Atleast Avi is finishing on a strong note

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Sep 23, 2015 -> 01:25 PM) I still wouldn't deal Montas. Judging from today he still has development left as a starter. His value isn't exactly low given his talent, but he definitely has potential and if I'm another GM im asking for him, hoping the White Sox think of Montas as a bullpen guy so they'd get him cheaper. Bring him up to Charlotte next season and have him develop a consister offspeed pitch. Perhaps he could lose a little bit if his pudge too This. Sox have a lot of value in Montas, he isn't getting traded unless it's a package for a solid piece moving forward. He will likely work on a third pitch in AAA next season and be up later next season.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 23, 2015 -> 12:51 PM) Maybe they meant for his career and not just one season
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 23, 2015 -> 12:50 PM) I'm the opposite, as I think his slider gets a lot more bad swings than his fastball. In the short time that I've seen him, I completely agree with this. I've seen some pretty rough swings at his slider this year.
