I did preface a complete lack of knowledge. I was referring more to the lack of speed and limited upside.

I know nothing about these kids, I'm just so jaded that I can't help but feel Hahn drafted a left handed Nick Madrigal and will fast track him to fill a need.

From an org that can't scout or develop for s%*#, this doesn't inspire confidence.

If a team wants to give up something interesting for him right now before he turned back into a pumpkin, that would be great.

Emphasis on backup, and I agree. Likable dude who you root for with his injury history, but I've seen enough to believe he isn't an everyday guy.

Cool, he can be the rebuild DH while he's cheap. I still don't think his bat plays as an everyday player and the more ABs he gets the more he seems to prove that.

Meh. If anything I think playing every day has exposed his weaknesses. He’ll smash his share of mistake pitches but he’s not someone you built or rebuild around.

Trading Cease right now might be too big of a waiving of the white flag for them. Keeping up appearances and all. They absolutely should burn it to the ground, but until proven otherwise, I believe they will pursue the stupidest possible route. I personally wouldn't mind if they waited until someone else is making the decisions before they trade their first or second most valuable piece.

It’s probably safe to call Moncada an overpaid bust at this point. It’s a sad waste of talent but it is what it is. He’s still the best defensive 3B on the team when he can play, emphasis on when. His contract makes him pretty immovable, but it’s not like Burger or Remillard or Romy are better. And I think we’ve finally seen enough of Burger to put any expectations of him being a productive everyday player to rest.

Who does though?

I don’t think anyone is really worried about him not blocking shots. It’s the slow feet, lack of rotation, lazy effort, etc.

Funny what giving him regular ABs does.
