LaRussa anthem story making national headlines
Tnetennba replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I don’t disagree. But the notion that not standing for the anthem disrespects the troops is BS to me. Group shows of nationalism are hollow. How we as a people group treat veterans both in policy and in the every days says far more than standing or not standing at a sporting event. -
When was the last time this org's system regularly churned out MLB starting talent? The failings in drafting & development + refusing to invest in international prospects has this org operating with one had tied behind its back going back nearly two decades. Refusing to pay top dollar for impact FA leaves them scraping the bottom of the FA barrel or overpaying for past production. The failing rebuild is as close as they've come to operating as a functional organization, which they have also utterly bungled. Throw a dart at the board and you probably have a valid reason for their repeated failures.

Can we support the individuals serving while also not condoning the actions of the corrupt imperialist nation that sends young women & men to their deaths for the profit of the elite few? I, a veteran who served, honor your kid's service, because he probably served for the same reasons I did, but also recognize the very system that exploits our servitude for futile ends and then leaves us to fend for ourselves afterwards, irreparable trauma and all. Choosing to not stand for the anthem is not an insult to your son's or my service to this dying nation. We can "support the troops" while conscientiously objecting to the horrors this nation has wrought upon the world we live in. -
Well this whole season has gone to shit and it’s only Memorial Day weekend. How lovely.

They have money to burn dumping Keuchel, but didn't when it came to adding a real RF or 2B. I know DK was a sunk cost, but my goodness are they really good at burning money on nothing.

This White Sox team is indefensible at this point.

Giving away Tatis will always be inexcusable, but what's to say he explodes onto the scene in the Sox org over SD? Sox player development while improved now over then is better, it is still shitty in comparison to other orgs around the league. -
Please suck less than the shitty Cubs today, please.

Of course he does. He’s as old school obtuse as it gets. -
I’m the biggest Moncada fan girl around these parts and even I’m losing hope/faith that we’ll see his 2019 form again. Or that his physique ever allows him to play the game regularly w/o an ache or tweak keeping him out for extended periods.

So from bad to abysmal behind the plate too. Yeah, he’s cooked.
-
So basically dead last amongst qualified batters. Woof. The numbers don’t paint a better picture either.
-
All of these things should have already happened. Not that I really believe any of it would right the ship this year year. But change must be made if they want to salvage this “window.”

Harrison and his .174 BA & .248 OBP really hit 2nd. And the pickled brain corpse really thought it was a good idea? It couldn’t be more obvious he’s grasping at straws and doesn’t have a fucking clue what he’s doing.

Peace out shit head. By all means let the door hit you on the ass on the way out.

Nope

Are there any signs in the stats that suggest Grandal isn’t completely cooked?

Sox vs Sox Rubbermatch and Season Finale- 7:10 CT

I’m not the least bit upset to miss the matchup of awful Chicago baseball teams this weekend. How often would one rather be working than watching baseball? -
This result seemed inevitable. A good manager could have had this team anywhere else. There’s no guarantee they’d have a ring already with the injuries and variables, but I doubt they’d be as dead in the water going nowhere fast as they are now.
-
The moment when they hired a drunken corpse to manage. It just took a season and a half before the six car pile up.
-
If he has any pride he would retire and walk away. This is pure delusion at this point.
