  1. His defense is poor, but more so he's clumsy enough in the field that he is likely to hurt himself doing something silly that puts him on the shelf for a few weeks to a few months.
  2. Stealing your idea with my dream tweaks: AL East: NYY, BOS, TOR, BAL AL North: CHW, MIN, DET, CLE AL South: HOU, TEX, COL, KC AL West: LAA, OAK, SEA, Portland* NL East: NYM, PHI, WAS, Montreal* NL North: CHC, STL, MIL, PIT NL South: ATL, MIA, TBR, CIN NL West: LAD, SFG, SDP, ARI
  3. I really like this alignment. If we are adding teams though I'd really want to see MLB return to Montreal, even if that's just a pipe dream.
  4. Can’t be worse than the other two can he?
  5. Here is where your team’s FA dollars went White Sox fans! (This comment is tongue in cheek sarcasm and not to be meant as any literal link between the two in any way whatsoever)
  6. Yeah. I’d love for it to be true but I won’t waste an ounce of energy hoping for it at this point.
  7. Even then I have my doubts they spend on a real replacement. I fear it’s scrap heap from here on out unfortunately.
  8. Weren’t we all wondering if he were hurt that game? I too remember being excited to see him in the bigs and was left woefully underwhelmed by his stuff.
  9. This is it in a nutshell. I wish I still had any hope however.
  10. The more I think about it the more I agree that it’s probably the team option that was a nonstarter.
  11. In my head I was thinking those earlier Arb years were higher. It's not as terrible as I thought after your breakdown. What's a fair contract # when Gio hits FA and what do those first two years on a new deal look like? Yes he gets more in those Arb years but I'd image the two years of FA he's giving up a bit more than he'd get if he signed that.
  12. Last 3 Arb years, then 1 FA year at likely a lower salary than he'd get on the first year of a new deal, and a team option that also keeps him underpaid for another year. Gio has earned better than that. That's a slap in the face.
  13. "The Sox offered Giolito a four-year, $50MM deal covering the 2021-24 seasons (Giolito’s three remaining arbitration-eligible years and his first free agent year), and there was also a club option for the 2025 campaign."
  14. Will the winning ever end? I hope not. Oh wait, you said whining. Shit. Well, can't help you there.
  15. I have no recollection of Waldo. Ribbie & Roobarb were before my time too. But I absolutely love everything about this thread.
