  1. And there you go, 15 times the Sox lost a game when taking a lead into the 7th inning or later.
  2. It will mark the 15th time the Sox took a lead into the 7th inning or later...and lost. It will be the second time Wilson is directly responsible.
  3. Well that puts a different spin on it to be sure.
  4. Correct
  5. And they gave "this" guy a big contract? Way to do your homework guys. This is as bad as Boone Logan admitting to the media he had a nervous breakdown on the mound in Tampa.
  6. It couldn't have helped rushing him to the majors and then having him have to play the outfield.
  7. Not many great players, hall of famers left from the 60's & 70's now. Koufax, Palmer, John, Kaat, Jenkins, Williams, Rose, Yaz come to mind.
  8. Great player. Loved the game.
  9. Pretty amazing, they get only two hits...but win.
  10. Correct. They are something like 23 to 30 games under .500 now under his watch.
  11. After the Sox won in 1983, JR was quoted after that, sometime in 1984 as I recall, saying along the lines of, 'I didn't know winning would cost so much...' (Because players wanted raises et al)
  12. You can do that with a competent front office. The Sox had Roland Hemond and Chuck Tanner driving the train. This front office is incompetent, dysfunctional and inept. Hard to overcome that regardless of how much talent you may have in the minor leagues. Crochet I feel will be traded anyway. And Melton suffered a herniated disc rescuing his son who somehow got up on the garage roof and was trapped there.
  13. I was told by a few sources that Wintrust did indeed make a better offer but one of the stipulations was the name return to Comiskey Park and JR didn't care for that. But I was also told that an individual in the front office had family connections to Guaranteed Rate and was pushing their offer to the point of withholding some information from JR. I have no idea what was supposedly withheld and if it would have made any difference given the name of the stadium requirement.
  14. In a season where they are going to lose 110-120 games does it even matter? Who cares if it gets worse...let it. Become a complete total embarrassment.
  15. Just FYI since it has been speculated Grifol made clear the Robinson move has nothing to do with Maldonado. Robinson had it in his contract he had to be added to the 40-man by today or he could walk. With Stassi out for the year, Sox needed catching insurance.
  16. Let the kid take his lumps and learn with the Sox as long as it doesn't get to him mentally.
  17. You realize Fedde is a free agent after next year and the Sox aren't going to be in the mix next season short of new ownership. The division has also improved overall.
  18. https://chicago.suntimes.com/white-sox/2024/06/15/white-sox-fans-soon-might-see-less-of-ace-garrett-crochet
  19. Exactly correct, the Sox as far as talent acquisition, go into every year with one hand tied behind their back thanks to JR.
  20. Let me have what he's drinking...I want to get loaded too. ?
  21. He's had his moments but lately has done poorly. Still don't understand what sending him down accomplishes. Let him learn at the big league level. Some are calling him the Sox future closer.
  22. DVS had a game recap story in the Sun-Times today from last night and Crochet was quoted as saying there have been no contract extension talks yet between him and the team.
  23. I wasn't getting into any specifics as to why the players were disappointments...just that they all are.
