  1. Just pointing out that he's had issues in this regard. Maybe he learns and gets through this in time, maybe he turns into another Javier Vasquez...we'll see.
  2. I see where Gio Gonzales pitched very well tonight for the Brewers in helping to beat the Cubs (yay!)
  3. Well he gave up another crooked number inning tonight.
  4. Easier said than done. Just a thought on the whole idea of Stone's comments and I personally know of a few other fans who have actually taken the time to write to him over this. A friend who is a long time Sox fan had the best advice I've heard regarding this organization / front office regardless of the area... drafts, free agent signings, trades, injuries. You can say it is the most pessimistic view of the situation but as he told me, it is what they deserve. They simply have not earned the benefit of the doubt because of their history and their actions in his opinion. His "philosophy" (for wont of a better word) is, "Don't trust them and always assume the worst until shown otherwise."
  5. Tomorrow is another game and another chance for a putrid Sox effort and probable loss. (I know that's what you really meant to say) As the old song said, "and the beat(ings) goes on..."
  6. Do I like it? Absolutely not. I also don't like the "three outcome" approach which is ruining the game.
  7. You read that right...for some cash and a player to be named later I think. Apparently he's getting called right up to the big club as one of their two left handed relief pitchers.
  8. In other words the Sox can have a seat at the kids table but there's no way in hell they are signing him.
  9. I initially thought this would be a slam dunk and that he'd be back...now I don't know. His comments about "getting help from the front office" (paraphrasing), the signing of Reed...not I'm not as sure, I'd say in my mind the odds are about 80% he will, before all this I thought they'd be higher.
  10. Well right now at least since June 19 he's been a Dylan Covey clone...hope he can turn it back around. Maybe he's tipping his pitches?
  11. Losing year after year creates very short tempers by those who still care about the team. Understandable.
  12. Well in the Sox case its usually 90 or so at least a season. Gio hasn't between the same pitcher since the Cubs beat him up on June 19, it's like the bubble burst and he's back to the same old guy. Maybe he needs to call his high school coach tonight.
  13. Because the Sox pro scouting department is obviously bad at what they do.
  14. hey the Giants released Derek Holland! LOL ?
  15. 3-10 since the break. Six of the losses to absolutely garbage teams in Kansas City and Miami. Just a total embarrassment.
  16. But the same people are in charge of the current progress and I submit many fans are concerned the clowns are going to ultimately screw it up again.
  17. God knows they need some kind of help in pro scouting unless you think guys like Keppinger, Dunn, LaRoche, Shark, Alonso, Nova, Santana and so on were "hits." ?
  18. Until it becomes counter productive, back stabbing, throat cutting.
  19. And what were the results from this organization when they were "trying to win?" Not very good was it. Same people calling the shots just different approaches. As I said I can understand why fans are concerned/upset.
  20. Could be true and another aspect of a good organization that often goes unnoticed. (i.e. department heads get along, see the big picture and aren't worried about individual success/credit)
  21. Apparently they (and the umpires) didn't know the rules (and that doesn't speak well for those umps does it?): https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/rays-savvy-lineup-switch-confuses-red-sox-manager-alex-cora-and-umpires-causes-19-minute-delay/ By the way the White Sox pulled this maneuver in the past as well: May 15, 1951 – It was a testament to the managerial genius of Sox skipper Paul Richards. It had been 30 years since the league saw a move like this. In the ninth inning of a game in Boston where the White Sox were winning 7-6, relief pitcher Harry Dorish was removed in favor of Billy Pierce to face the left handed hitting Ted Williams, only Dorish wasn’t removed from the game! He was moved to third base. Pierce retired Williams on a pop up, then was taken out of the game and Dorish put back on the mound. Boston eventually tied the game but the White Sox would have the last laugh, winning 9-7 in 11 innings. The victory marked the start of a 14 game win streak, with 11 of the wins on the road. On May 30 after sweeping the St. Louis Browns, the Sox record stood at 26-9.
  22. Exactly. It is NOT just this year or the past three years, it is the awful free agent signings, the bad trades, the poor draft picks, the injury situation and remember even when the Sox were "trying to win" they found ways to screw it all up. This franchise has been one of the worst in baseball since 2007 that's going on 13 years now when this season ends...man that's a long time to be a joke isn't it? (Save for the three winning seasons which weren't even in consecutive seasons...) And personally I think after all that,Sox ownership / front office should thank God there are still fans around who still care about the daily happenings instead of just saying, "the hell with you, a pox on your house..." At least Sox fans don't appear to be apathetic (yet...)
  23. Perhaps because the majority of fans now no longer trust ownership and the front office to get it done after the Machado fiasco? They actually see improvement and realize with JR, Kenny and Hahn pulling the strings there is a decent chance they screw it up and it gets flushed right down the toilet. That worries them. I suspect like with myself, they supported the rebuild, it was needed, it was the only possible way out but the ownership was asking the same people who jazzed it all up to fix it. Now throw in last off season and reality is beginning to hit home and it worries them. Just a possible reason.
  24. Trust me Stone could retire tomorrow and not have to worry about money for the rest of his life. The guy owns restaurants and has for decades. Money is the LEAST of his worries. He does this because he enjoys it, it's not like he needs to work.
  25. Stone continues to "troll" (for wont of a better word) Sox fans. An hour ago he posted all the bad teams who won games last night against good teams and said it happens all the time. Baseball 101. I asked him how many of those bad teams had as bad a pitcher as Dylan Covey working for them? LOL. Honestly I don't know what's gotten into this guy lately, losing respect for him myself... if he can't understand why Sox fans are pissed off and have a short fuse after all the shitty baseball they've seen since 2007 maybe he's not as smart as I thought he was. It's not that hard to comprehend is it?
