Then we won't have to worry about either situation taking place more than likely.

Same thing when Kenny was kicked upstairs and Hahn was promoted.

CWS Acquire Reliever Cam Booser from BOS
Lip Man 1 replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
That's the way of the White Sox. -
He is far to loyal and only changes things when he is basically left with no other choice. The White Sox react...they aren't an organization that is ahead of the curve.
-
Wow...that's shocking. Tremendous talent.
-
I guess I missed new ownership walking in the door and the hiring of a new G.M. not connected in any way shape or form to the old ownership to say nothing of the issues being caused by the V/P of marketing who from what everyone has told me who is connected with the organization has made head scratching moves that has cost the franchise millions of dollars. What the Sox have done may result (notice I said may) in a modest improvement but JR still has 51% of the vote. That means a backward thinking approach to the minor leagues, self imposed limits on acquisition of talent by any and all means and an unwillingness to take any risks. Until that changes this franchise will continue to be incompetent, dysfunctional and inept. We have not, repeat not, seen a full house cleaning.

No worries, I appreciate your posts since you obviously take a lot of time thinking them through.

Just FYI, read a story in the Tribune a few days ago where representatives from the pro women's sports teams met with members of the state legislator branch. They are trying to get a law passed that if the state allocates any money at all towards construction of new stadiums for male teams (like the Sox and Bears) they must also offer money for the construction of new women's stadiums.

When new ownership walks in the door and fires just about anybody and everybody connected to the old incompetent, dysfunctional and inept organization.

I honestly don't think JR is that motivated by his "legacy" when you are as wealthy as he is, "legacy" has very little meaning. The bank account means a lot more.
-
A very wise thing to do.
-
He has been signed to cover the Sox by the new network, McGuffie however was vnot. He's signed up to work with Kaplan on their podcasts/web site.
-
Exactly, starting at the very top.

Who are these guys?
-
Yes it is shameful but not to JR who has other priorities. As stated leaving as much money as possible to his family. Given the tax hit, that would impact this, which is why by all indications that both he has said and others (recently by TLR), he is not selling. That will be left to his family.

27 times the Sox took a lead into the 7th inning or later...and lost the game in 2024.

White Sox impacted the most: “Unfortunately, the White Sox are a really tough team to [cover],” Spano said. “Herb’s incredible. He’s one of the best talents we’ve ever had and a great person. Vinny Duber’s as good of a writer as you’ll find on a beat. But sometimes you feel like you care more about the White Sox than the White Sox care about the White Sox. So that makes it tough.” https://chicago.suntimes.com/sports-media/2024/12/18/chgo-sports-chicago-greg-boysen-vinnie-duber-ryan-herrera-herb-lawrence-nicholas-moreano-brandon-spano-all-city-network

Like I was told last week after the Crochet deal by a long time front office executive, "All Jerry wants now is to leave as much money as possible for his family and grand children." All you can do is hope to outlive him and hope for better days.

That's what I was told by a front office executive.

Embarrassing. Regarding Poles, the Sun-Times has a story tonight that talks about three possible outcomes: 1. He gets fired 2. Warren gives him a contract extension since he has made improvement in the roster overall and has major cap flexibility 3. Poles resigns himself. https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears/2024/12/16/kevin-warren-believes-in-ryan-poles-until-he-doesnt https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears/2024/12/16/big-decision-on-next-head-coach-bigger-doubt-about-whether-bears-are-up-to-it-bill-belichick-george-mccaskey

Roki Sasaki Free Agency - Dodgers vs Blue Jays for Roki's heart
Lip Man 1 replied to Timmy U's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Very true. With the Sox there always seems to be an "excuse" for not being able to close a deal on a superstar since Albert Belle (and the only reason the Sox got him was because JR was upset the other owners settled the 94/95 labor impasse on terms he didn't agree with and he was going to show them...) -

When all is said and done this will simply be another opportunity for the Sox organization to say, "we had a seat at the table...we tried..." without any real chance to succeed.
