Interestingly, during his slump, Moncada has just an 11% soft contact rate and only a .256 BABIP to show for it. So while the strikeouts are piling up and his numbers should be down, he shouldn't be doing this poorly.
I'd normally agree with this type of thinking but I don't consider these to be 50/50 calls. There have been 6-7 strikeouts this month on calls that are a called strike 0-15% of the time
It would normally matter but given how raw Moncada was when he came over, it doesn't matter to me as much.

Haven't even brought defense and baserunning value into this but honestly Moncada may even be the more valuable player right now even in the funk he's in.
