Moncada
For every "error", there are 2-3 plays he makes on a ball that the average 2B wouldn't get to. These plays involving impressive range that may look routine tend to go unnoticed by fans which is why some infielders are so underrated/overrated defensively (take Jeter, for example). Moncada's range is ridiculous. Moving him off of 2B would be a big mistake

His 9.5% walk rate should be 11.7% at least, by my math

Oh, did we suddenly cut Soria, Jones, Covey, Avilan, Fry, and Cedeno?

Astros interested in Abreu?
How much longer are we gonna fall for this? He's streaky but he always ends the season with pretty similar numbers.

That may be true, but regardless, I trust that table over a 27 AB sample

Engel or Tilson
There's not a single thing Engel does better than Tilson. Easy answer for me.

Perhaps- I've always thought he's better as a 2B/SS though

Race for the worst 2018 record (Top 5 pick) again
But overall, they were a better team once we sold everyone off. Not just Q, but the bullpen and Melky as well.

I'm willing to listen, and Moncada is underperforming, but that doesn't mean he's a bust or that the trade won't work out. To the Herrera trade, it "seems" mediocre because of Herrera's name value, but in reality he is only under control for three more months. None of the guys they got back have a high ceiling, aside from maybe the third baseman they got (Gutierrez, I think), but it doesn't seem too bad to me considering what they gave up.

Me too. His walks are way down, but so are his strikeouts. In this reliever market, nobody is getting a Clint Frazier for Andrew Miller type of haul

I know you love false equivalences, but it's been made clear that you don't want to understand others' points of view, so there's no point in giving you an actual response

Moncada
Where were you when Moncada had a .877 OPS at the start of May? All the other prospects who come up and set the world on fire (as Moncada did in April) fall off pretty hard. Ozzie Albies, who has been just as bad, if not worse, than Moncada over the last month, is a great example of this.

Personally I think they just want them to each get regular playing time, and Zavala is older and perhaps slightly better defensively. I have no doubt that Collins' bat is MLB ready but his defense needs work still
