  1. I'd rather see Tilson and Palka both stay with Engel being optioned to AAA or released
  2. If this team was healthy for the first few months, with Kopech and Eloy being added in May (which I guess was never gonna happen), I truly think we'd be .500 or better right now. Avi/Leury/Rodon and even Nicky make such a big difference
  3. Apparently there's a protest of this downtown on Saturday. I've never been to a political protest or rally of any kind but I look forward to going to this one.
  4. It's been 3 games... I mean you can call it a hot start but it might not even be enough sample size to constitute a "start" lol
  5. 8 MPH range on his fastball (end of the tweet)? That's pretty drastic
  6. So wouldn't playing with a partially torn... anything, increase the risk of a full tear in the future? Sorry if I'm completely wrong on that but it just seems risky to me
  7. For me, Hansen was at 8 rather than 4 because 1. I've always liked Cease better, and I thought Cease was great last year but was basically pitching without a defense behind him, causing him to have to pitch for strikeouts and preventing him from going deeper into games 2. Madrigal slotted above him but that's not Hansen "dropping", more just Madrigal being added 3. Just like with Cease, I've always loved Collins 4. I ranked Dunning higher just because there's a higher chance he'll be a solid MLB pitcher (lower ceiling than Hansen, but less risk). Maybe the injury did affect my ranking there. But of course now Dunning is injured too.
  8. Right, by multiple I meant this year and next, so 1.5 I guess. Agree on Cedeno, still annoyed we left him in AAA for so long. He's a proven MLB arm.
  9. Good rebuild game. Moncada and Anderson were good overall- Yoan also had that dazzling defensive play. Leury is really streaky when it comes to hitting but man it sure is nice to have him back. Avi too
  10. I expect/hope to see Cedeno, Soria, and Avilan all traded. Avilan may have a little more trade value since he has multiple years though.
  11. Haha, I guess that's fair. They can take Minaya's spot for all I care
  12. Please explain to me why Jeanmar Gomez, Thyago Vieria, or Ian Hamilton are less deserving of a bullpen spot than Minaya
  13. I agree. I'm still not a fan of the construction- batting Yolmer 2nd consistently and Anderson 6-8 makes little sense, for example, but at least there's no Trayce.
  14. Sliders low and away in the dirt, rinse and repeat. Not sure why he doesn't see more of them
  15. A month from now he'll be at .290/.350/.510. These fluctuations are completely normal for him and, in my opinion, are not indicative of any slowing down.
  16. Yup- 1 month of bad baseball (with a little bit of bad luck mixed in- his BABIP over his slump is .242) might change the mind of a message board poster, but a GM will value the past 5 years of production over that one month stretch.
  17. Some nice bases loaded ABs from Anderson, Abreu, and Yolmer of course
  18. Trading 6 years of someone who seems like he can be a dominant reliever doesn't seem like the best move for us. If he were older then I'd be down, but he has so much control left. I'd need a massive return
  19. About ready for Jose's cold streak to end... he's pressing
  20. He does look worse from the right side, but I also believe he looks better than the numbers suggest. He's had some great contact from the right side this year that hasn't resulted in hits. I personally am not yet convinced that he'd be any better as a LH vs LHP. I'd want to give him until at least the 2019 ASB as a switch hitter, just to see what he can do with 250-300 PAs as a righty
  21. I strongly agree that 65 ABs is enough of a sample to give up on someone switch hitting
  22. He might as well be a pitcher. I swear I haven't seen an uglier swing
