7/16/16 Sox @ Angels Shields vs Shoemaker
I respect JB Shuck for always hustling. He does so more than anyone on the team

Just one run, please.... only one

Yeah, we shouldn't throw Morneau in the cleanup spot right away.

Carson Fulmer Getting Called Up?
Still don't understand why we don't give him the Sunday spot start and then put him in the bullpen. Can't hurt.

Dan Jennings
Oh, and speaking of relievers, #DFAAlbers

Dan Jennings
His 2nd half ERA in 2015 was lowest in baseball. His overall ERA was greatly skewed due to a couple outings in which he allowed many runs after our bullpen was completely empty and he was forced to stay in and throw far too many pitches. This year, he has a 1.60 ERA and has been very effective in preventing inherited runners from scoring. To think that we got our best reliever (I'd surely take him over Jones, Robertson, Duke, etc.) for Andre Rienzo, currently in AAA for Miami, is laughable.

Carson Fulmer Getting Called Up?
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 05:17 PM) Kahnle Ah, didn't realize he was up. I don't get why we can't give Fulmer one start for Rodon and then send him to the 'pen.

Carson Fulmer Getting Called Up?
QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 03:24 PM) Turner is starting Sunday Source? We'd have to send someone down to make that happen.

Everyone points to Garcia, but it's Abreu's slide that's k
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 03:40 PM) No offense, but when your second good month is an OPS barely above .800, that's a bit concerning. I'm not writing off Abreu by any means, but the dude needs to at least put 2015 type numbers or we are f***ed. We really haven't seen much of that player this year and until we do, there's nothing wrong with posters being worried. To be fair, the July OPS isn't quite relevant due to the small amount of games played

Sox Looking for CFers
QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 02:39 PM) Is the market for RF any better? Please nobody say Markakis Regardless of an answer, I'd be reluctant to move Eaton's glove from RF

Sox Looking for CFers
QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 02:39 PM) You doubt Shuck sustains that but are confident Jason Bourgeouis can? Shuck has been the perfect reserve OF for us since last year. He hasn't hit for much slugging but gets on base. My point is basically that with the way he's performing, Bourgeois at least needs a chance. I keep expecting him to fall off, but he keeps hitting and hitting

Everyone points to Garcia, but it's Abreu's slide that's k
QUOTE (VAfan @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 02:35 PM) Abreu is unfortunately no longer clearly part of the solution. Maybe, hopefully, he'll find a way to turn it around. Because if he doesn't, replacing Garcia isn't going to make a whit of difference. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 14, 2016 -> 06:50 PM) Realistically he got off to a horrible start, and has trended back to his usual self over the last couple of months. Historically his worst two months with the White Sox are April and May. The last thing we need is another irrational panic about Abreu thread. Here is his OPS by month this year: April .657 May .711 June .885 July .807 OPS+ by month April 82 May 94 June 131 July 114 Batting average by month April .229 May .252 June .306 July .351

Sox Looking for CFers
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 02:34 PM) Since Jackson hurt his knee, Shuck is hitting .299 with an OPS over .800. I doubt he sustains that

Sox Looking for CFers
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 02:03 PM) The next time a 34 year old breaks out in the major leagues, let me know. I'm not expecting him to "break out", but when a guy is doing as ridiculously well in the minors as he is, he deserves the chance to hit in the majors. I think he could be better than Shuck.

Sox Looking for CFers
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 01:52 PM) He has a career .300 OBP in the majors. Why would that suddenly increase by 50 points at age 34? When he played 93 games in a season at age 29, it was .323. With ample playing time in the minors, the guy is hitting over .350 with an OBP over .400. Sure, he's 34, but he's at least played well enough to earn a chance at the majors this year.

It's still weird to me that he goes by Melvin now big change from B.J.

Fulmer up, Coats down, Morneau activated
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 15, 2016 -> 12:24 PM) I wonder if Morneau will be in the line up vs. the lefty. Dan Hayes @CSNHayes 28m28 minutes ago Justin Morneau is 3-for-11 w/ BB & RBI vs. Hector Santiago, tonight's #Angels starter. Don't be surprised if he's in #WhiteSox lineup.

Carson Fulmer Getting Called Up?
QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jul 14, 2016 -> 11:29 PM) So can someone explain this to me... Beck down for Fulmer, Coats down for Morneau. That would leave the roster at 25, right? Then if that is right, what about Turner supposedly starting Sunday? My guess is Fulmer starts Sunday and Dave was wrong on Turner

Rodon's Replacement in Rotation
QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jul 14, 2016 -> 08:18 PM) Wasn't it Dave that said 5/130M is what the Sox were going to sign Cespedes for? Pretty sure that Dave had reported that on twitter. Yeah that's what I remember. He was wrong about this too, now that Fulmer is on the way

Carson Fulmer Getting Called Up?
Yup, solid source. Wonder if he'll start for Rodon and then move to the bullpen, or just be a reliever.

Is Blackmon's defense even that good? I could be looking at the wrong metrics, but he looks pretty average
