Andrew Benintendi Available?
Doesn't have as much value nor control as you'd think. Bummer, Colome, Steele Walker, and Bryce Bush would work from a value standpoint IMO. Most of it comes from Bummer of course

If you could pick one position player to add to the roster
Not only is Trout on track to be the greatest baseball player ever, but he also is controlled for 11 full seasons at a cheap rate relative to his production. Why people would talk themselves out of choosing him is something I cannot understand

Luis Robert
I definitely thinks that those 6 top the Royals' group, and re: Cordell, I knew I was forgetting someone. Throw him in, let him DH! I know James Beard has received an "85" speed grade but I think that Robert's 65 speed grade is completely wrong. Robert will very likely be the fastest player in all of MLB once he's promoted, so I'm not entirely sure that Beard is truly faster. I'd be curious to see their sprint speeds compared, or just to watch them race. What you said is correct, I just personally think that Robert is much, much faster than the scouting grades suggest. But yeah, throw Beard in the mix too. Do this lineup in 2023 and just get rid of the Tilson and Engel types

Yonder DFA'd
Something like .178/.275/.301 sounds about right. (Yes those are his 2019 White Sox stats)

I guess the "momentum" towards being competitive was just dumb luck?
I'm beginning to believe that he might be a new Tom Longo account. Just the same relentless complaining/trolling in every thread, ad nauseam. I blocked him too but so many people quote him, there's no escape

2019 Trade Deadline Predictions
I like Grisham but let's not undersell Robert. Robert has easily been better over the last month. Grisham over the past 28 days: .295/.368/.590, .958 OPS, 7 HR, 5 SB Robert over the past 28 days: .363/.422/.613, 1.035 OPS, 5 HR, 13 SB

Luis Robert
Just for one day next year, they could field a lineup with Robert, Anderson, Moncada, Madrigal, Tilson, and Engel. Other 3 guys don't even matter. Just to say it was the fastest single starting lineup an MLB team ever put out.

Abreu unhappy with roster decisions (seems to want Luis Robert up)
It's pretty simple to me. He wants to stay and will probably take a cheap deal to do so, but at the same time he's frustrated with how slow the process is, because he knows what it's heading towards and he's getting impatient

Exactly. It's really not much deeper than this. You don't have to be Mike Trout to question whether you're being put in the best position to win, especially in the midst of a 6th consecutive losing season

Abreu unhappy with roster decisions (seems to want Luis Robert up)
I guess I meant to say "whether they dislike it enough to actually comment on it publicly", and more in reference to White Sox players than the entire league. I don't remember anyone saying stuff like this last summer with Eloy, for example

It probably is out of context. Regardless, many have wondered whether the service time games bother players who want to win. When one of the most reserved and respected players on the team says this, even if it's not perfectly in context, it clearly shows that they don't like it.

I thought this was interesting because I don't remember him ever complaining about anything in his 6 years here.

Charlie Tilson Optioned to Charlotte
Tired bullpen and it would just be for a few days until TA is (likely, and hopefully) back.

Charlie Tilson Optioned to Charlotte
Agreed, I think it's a reliever

I guess the "momentum" towards being competitive was just dumb luck?
Or in Dietrich's case, someone who knows how to take a gd HBP. I'm not kidding, he gets like 20 per year (on pace for 30+ this year) so they're basically bonus walks for him every year.

Well said. It's always like this- when things are looking good (as in heading into the ASB), many are happy but there are far fewer posts/threads than there are when things are bad. A week or two from now we'll probably swing back in the other direction.

Eloy going on IL
Correct, and many have floated the idea, but Robert has little incentive to sign an extension because he got such a big signing bonus relative to Eloy/other young players who signed extensions. It's the same reason I don't see us extending Moncada (or at least not until he hits the open market)

Eloy going on IL
They could, but I'm curious as to what their excuse will be for keeping him down. They can't really blame defense, plate discipline, etc. so by promoting him prior to August, they put themselves in an uncomfortable situation
