  1. Agree, But does RR make all lineup decisions without input from the front office? I would think Hahn must meet daily with manager+ coaches on prior game and player status.
  2. Since Indians are a half game ahead of us, I would re-word to slipped by us. I think we have a good chance to take the weekend series and slip by them. We do catch a break w Francona out for series.
  3. To me contend means in the running for a playoff spot. With the short season playoff format, I think the White Sox will contend for a wildcard and very well may get one. I don't see them as contending for a WS spot because their lack of starting pitching this year will catch up to them. Defense is more than errors but so far the team has done a good job of making careless errors since they only have made 4 total. Once Madrigal settles in, I think they will be at least average compared to rest of teams.
  4. I agree. I would move Abreu to 4th or if they are in love w the righty/lefty Grandal in the 4 and Abreu in the 5.
  5. We got great pitching. They were just a tad better
  6. The bullpen continues to be a real strength. I realize we will see some wear and tear with the struggles of the starting pitching but the front office has certainly assembled a quality group of relievers.
  7. SCCWS replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
    Abreu has been a positive.
  8. Eloy was not eligible yesterday since he hadn't cleared concussion protocol. I thought Grandal should have hit for Leury in the 9th. Great point on walks
  9. I assume Lopez will be replaced in rotation next time through and then how long after.
  10. Well the buiipen was outstanding today. So they have to fix the offense and starting pitching.
  11. Now he needs to steal 2nd and .............................
  12. I said give the kid a few starts not a few innings.
  13. First inning of the season on the road and some posters are already trashing Cease. Give the kid a few starts to get going again.
  14. I would think the Eduardo Rodriquez " heart inflammation" issue that developed yesterday after he was cleared of his bout w Covid could cause concern for some of the players
  15. There will be a stoppage but I highly doubt it is 1-2 weeks. Unless there was some unique cause originating w Marlins , I think this season may be toast
  16. Not sure many players assumed a scenario like the Marlins would happen this quickly.
  17. I agree. Spring training was disjointed so even 3 starts is not much of a sample size. Management also has to look at Lopez's stiffness issue to see if that start was wasted. The Sox must be watching the waiver wire for anyone worth a shot. We saw Fulmer and Covey each moved this weekend so teams are moving "bodies" around.
  18. Traditionally slow starters with positional players are sometimes attributed to cold weather. Obviously not this year. But the fragmented season may affect slow starters just as much. Managers may need to have less patience with them as opposed to letting them work it out over the first month .
  19. Probably a good gamble by Tigers. I would have thought O's would have taken him with all their woes.
  20. Engle hitting over 700 will be a fixture going forward....................................until
  21. Hopefully you are moving away from Tampa not to it.
  22. Remember when "Opening Day" was an annual event to skip school and head out to the ballpark. Now it is "Opening Night"
