I don’t think Yaz can be continued to be trotted out at DH. He’s quite literally useless in that role at this point. Let him platoon with Zeby, contract between damned. Pollack is a better hitter (sadly) and improves the defense a ton

He def could have hustled more but that was a double all the way. That was hit hard and he was shaded towards center

The curve actually had pretty good sharp break. Abandon the slider for a bit if you have to, he threw at least 3 that should have been HR’s

Kopech’s slider is awful right now. Almost 0 movement

Diekman is a good get as a lefty out of the pen for Reese

Pretty crazy that with all of the wheeling and dealing they’ve done and with the size of their payroll they might have 1 of the worst OF’s in baseball. Wil Myers and Profar as the best you can trot out is no good

I wonder what it would actually take? 2 years of cheap control for an above average player seems like it would cost a decent amount, but also nothing crazy. Don’t think Montgomery, Colas, or Vera would need to be discussed…wonder if they would have interest in Burger + a decent prospect like Kelley?

Another thing to keep in mind with the Orioles that could lead to them trading Santander is that they drafted LH OF’ers 2 years in a row in the top 5 (Kowser and Kjerstad). Their #7 prospect Kyle Stowers is also a LH hitting corner OF’er who is 24 and has a .900 ops in AAA. He’s gotten a taste of the majors already and it would probably make sense to see what he can do. Long story short…it makes sense for the Orioles to cash in on Santander now since he mostly likely won’t be starting for them when they could potentially have a window of contention in 2-3 years (if everything goes well)

Did anybody think hitting HR’s was going to be the Sox problem going into the season? I can’t even begin to guess what it is, but something weird is clearly going on with this team. Even Jose, who is hitting well, is on pace for a career low in HR’s.

How is pitch trax so far off? That’s 2 times now it’s location of the pitch was way off

It’s honestly mind boggling that he hasn’t been fired at least. We all know Tony isn’t going to get fired, but the collective failure of this offense has to go somewhere…not like these guys haven’t hit the ball before. Something is going on and replacing the hitting coach seems a lot easier than 4-5 of the players

I admittedly don’t watch a ton of non-Sox baseball…but I feel like watching our offense is so bad that watching a team like the Yankees must seem like some sort of witch craft or cheating. You mean their players hit the ball past the warning track regularly?? Must be a crazy thing to watch

Yup. TA is “disgraceful”, yet all of these same posters idolize the players of the 70’s and 80’s that were assaulting umps and doing god knows what while on the road. He didn’t need to bump the ump, won’t condone that, but I’m certainly not going to get upset that 1 of our players had an outburst of emotion. This team is a bunch of losers and walking around like zombies with seemingly 0 care. Someone needs to freak and cause a scene, if our manager did it he’d end up in the hospital

Trade Jose for prospects- Not because I want to trade him, but the roster is painted into a corner with similar players with no position flex. And Jose probably still has pretty decent value with how is hitting and isn’t going to be a part of a Sox championship…sadly Trade Cueto- cash in on value Trade Graveman- Again, just value wise Graveman can likely get us something decent. See if anyone will take Pollack for nothing…don’t see why he’s going to turn down his 10M option next year and we don’t want to be stuck with him. Maybe Yankees in return for Gallo? If we aren’t willing/they aren’t ready to give Colas/Cespedes a shot next year, acquire 2 corner OF’s and a reliable backend starter in the off-season….Without trading Montgomery, Colas, or Vera TA Yoan Robert Vaughn Eloy Yaz Corner OF Corner OF (LH) Harrison/Burger/Other young internal option. Hope Gio can figure it out and Kopech can take a step forward and I’m delusional enough to think that roster can at lease easily win the central.

We have a team of lifeless zombies that seemingly don’t care that they are failing over and over again and that the team is vastly underperforming. Obviously I don’t condone the bump of the umpire, but I have no problem with TA (or anyone) having an emotional outburst. They should be pissed, maybe someone can inject life into this team. Obviously it won’t come from our manager, an emotional outburst will land him in the hospital for sure

I like TA quite a bit…
