  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 22, 2014 -> 05:03 PM) Boggs continues to struggle....no reason for him to make the club. Was just coming on here to comment the same thing
  2. Panda looks so weird with all the lost weight haha
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 22, 2014 -> 01:43 PM) And you still believe he will be a major league regular at any point? I think this season is make or break for him and Mitchell. Ideally one really takes off this season and can possibly break camp next year. LF- Thompson/Mitchell CF- Eaton RF- Garcia with Tank as the DH/backup 1B/OF though I think it is more likely we go after Rasmus to play left (may cost too much though) but I think a Seth Smith or Ibanez are more likely on cheaper deals.
  4. QUOTE (staxx @ Mar 21, 2014 -> 03:34 PM) Yep. They said the CF camera is out. Dunn with a great AB.... lol Dunn sub-.200 average, k's first at-bat. Mid-season form.
  5. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Mar 21, 2014 -> 12:24 PM) If he's on waivers, why would the Sox give up anything to get him? Well, in my scenario they are mostly getting him as a throw-in hope for the best move. The two prospects is where the real value comes to the Sox.
  6. Twins have placed Vance Worley on waivers. This guy was just good what, 2 years ago? He's still young and can be a Coop project. How about Alejandro De Aza for Worley and 1-2 lower level prospects?
  7. What about Viciedo and either Sanchez or Johnson for Turner and like say a lower level prospect? I know the Marlins have Hech at short already (who is essentially their own version of Gregorious but I think they may be thin at second (Furcal is slated to start their for their team this season).
  8. QUOTE (QuickJones81 @ Mar 18, 2014 -> 08:19 AM) What is your future 2016 White Sox 25 man roster? Rules: You can only compile your 25 man roster from players currently with the White Sox, in their farm system, AND your prediction/wish for the 2014 1st round pick if you so choose. No future free agents or trades allowed, the name of the game is building from within. Here is mine to get things rolling C: Adrian Nieto 1B: Jose Abreu 2B: Micah Johnson SS: Tim Anderson 3B: Matt Davidson RF: Courtney Hawkins CF: Adam Eaton LF: Avisail Garcia DH: Dayan Vicideo Bench: Marcus Semien Bench: Carlos Sanchez Bench: Jacob May Bench: Josh Phegley Bench: Keon Barnum SP1: Chris Sale SP2: Tyler Beede SP3: Jose Quintana SP4: Erik Johnson SP5: Tyler Danish CL: Brad Goldberg RP: Daniel Webb RP: Andre Rienzo RP: Kevin Vance RP: Eric Surkamp RP: Jefferson Olacio Doubt it looks anything like that. Signings and trades are always made. Way too hard to predict a roster 2 years in advance.
  9. QUOTE (raBBit @ Mar 14, 2014 -> 02:27 PM) We're slated to have one rookie in the opening day line up and Dunn isn't playing everyday anyways. I think he's just talking about young guys in general. I too am a bigger fan of Dunn fifth/sixth. Not a fan of those all or nothing kind of guys hitting third.
  10. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Mar 12, 2014 -> 10:10 PM) We're getting close to the season and I've said this 100 times but I hate it so I'll say it again. We have De Aza, Viciedo, and Jordan Danks (who's been killing it) battling for two spots. Then we have Gillaspie, Davidson, Semien, Keppinger, and L. Garcia battling for 1-2 spots. Just trade De Aza and one of Gillaspenger to make this easier. Semien and Davidson start in AAA, De Aza/Viciedo dealt with Danks making team as 4th OF, Gillaspie at third, Keppinger on DL, Garcia backup infielder. Its not that hard. And if Kepp isn't on DL, Garcia getting at bats in the outfield, infield, and random DH at bats in AAA. Not that hard.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 10, 2014 -> 12:42 PM) Clear a 40 man spot or no? He wasn't on the 40
  12. QUOTE (Jake @ Mar 10, 2014 -> 12:03 PM) UZR isn't a big fan of Saunders's CF defense Eaton is in center
  13. do the Twins have any catching depth in the minors we may be interested in? I know Josmil Pinto is one but I was wondering if there were others.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 8, 2014 -> 05:20 PM) It is spring. There aren't "circumstances". It is glorified scrimmages. Exactly. And I think Robin has given everyone the greenlight to steal just to get a feel for guys
  15. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 8, 2014 -> 02:26 PM) Levine, Bernie Pleskoff, and Jon Heyman have all mentioned Mariners interest in Viciedo now. Levine said this morning that Zduriencik was in camp watching Viciedo. What would the Sox even be interested in from them? Zunino but I think he's locked in to start behind the plate for the M's
  16. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 6, 2014 -> 08:14 AM) Or Chone Figgins or Brendan Harris or Justin Turner. I think I said if they make a trade for a 2B, I'd eat the entirety of a peel of an orange. I stand by that. I honestly think Turner would get a lot of playing time. Like many articles and by Turner himself, he was shocked to get non-tendered by the Mets this off-season.
  17. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Mar 5, 2014 -> 01:37 PM) I hope we don't trade for Nick Franklin, with all the internal Beckham-replacement options in the queue. They wanted Nick Franklin to play third back before we had Davidson.
  18. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Mar 4, 2014 -> 10:41 AM) AZ recently said they were thinking about trading a SS for a young C to come up after Montero, so I'd guess Trahan is probably either unavailable or very disappointing. Then again, practically nothing that Kevin Towers does makes sense to me. lol like trading a power hitting outfielder one off-season then looking for another one the next?
  19. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Mar 2, 2014 -> 05:11 PM) This guy has no business in big league camp if based on performance. Don't think he's long for the org, though. Was hoping he would be dfa'd with the roster moves they made in the past month or so (Cleto, Surkamp, etc.)
  20. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Mar 2, 2014 -> 04:15 PM) Trayce Thompson RBI single. Tie game! Man how great would it be if either Mitchell or him exploded and had a huge year this year. They could throw who ever has the great year in left next year with Viciedo DHing giving them roster flexibility (Viciedo starts at DH but gets at bats in left right and first).
  21. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Feb 28, 2014 -> 11:58 AM) We would have to trade for him and open a 40 man roster spot to keep him on. Could DFA Cleto for him, but that probably won't happen. If he is signed to a minor league deal, I don't think they have to worry about the 40-man unless he makes the team
  22. Lefty reliever, Chris Jones (only 25) was released by O's today. Between AA and AAA, he had a 2.83 ERA. He could be someone to take a flyer on on a minor league deal especially since there is basically an open competition for it
  23. Austin Hedges is a top 3 catching prospect in the game in the Padres organization...watch for Grandal to be made available in the next year.
  24. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 26, 2014 -> 02:45 PM) Dan Hayes now quoting Rick Hahn as saying they'll be able to trade Elmore in the next couple days. 1. Weird to see a GM actually say they are going to trade someone in a few days 2. Weird they claimed him (Elmore) in the first place if you ask me, with Leury Garcia around. Possibly in a deal to the Yankees? Though I can't see us getting their better catchers for him straight up but maybe a Romine or Cervelli.
