Trying to finish this A&P study guide. This is so distracting lol
-
Very odd indeed. Will know something soon since it's out there

Don't fear....Moncada is here!

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 12, 2016 -> 08:01 PM) The deadline to tender contracts is December 2nd. Seems weird that he would be non tendered now. Teams are in a hurry to make moves because of the CBA uncertainty
-
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Nov 12, 2016 -> 07:19 PM) I hope he is tendered and traded. I guarantee he can be traded for something No kidding. It's a puzzling move for sure considering we gave up 2 prospects last year.

I'm absolutely fine with tanking. This organization needs it honestly.
-
Well ok. Way to get ahead of this one Mike, LOL. That was a waste of a trade then.

2016-17 free agency thread (NON WHITE SOX RELATED)

I would be pissed if the Tigers ended up with De Leon. I really like that kid. -
God bless Sox ST holders!

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 10:09 PM) Which in my opinion means we keep Frazier. You are just weakening this team by tearing down our strengths instead of building on them It's called rebuilding a dog s*** franchise.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 07:29 PM) My point is trading everyone who is good is foolish. The last total rebuild the Sox did was when Larry Himes was the GM. Carlton Fisk stayed. Ozzie Guillen stayed., and then they had the new park to add payroll. Trading Sale, Quintana, Eaton, Jones, all of them may wind up being pretty foolish. It is fine if you expect each trade to go perfectly, but that is pretty unlikely. Eaton has 5 years left. Do you really think you will get something that turns out better? They haven't won s*** with them and have sucked. They won't add a ton to the payroll that is needed. It's time.
-
They may hold onto most of them if they don't get what they want.
-
First one to go? That's kind of tough. I feel like hitters will go once free agent hitters sign and teams strike out on the big guns, then come for Abreu, Melky, Frazier. So, I'll go with Sale because I feel like he needs to go first to set the tone for the rebuild.
-
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 04:16 PM) Well if we traded Sale, Quintana, Jones, Robertson, Frazier, Cabrera, and Abreu- so basically went all out, we'd get 12-20 prospects in total. Odds are some end up as busts, but we're getting so many, we can afford it. Not to mention the prospects we already have including Rodon, Anderson, Fulmer, Burdi, Collins, Hansen, etc.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 09:18 PM) Just saw the clip, and Pat Boyle said "maybe they could trade Soler, Almora and another piece for Sale". WOW Ya I watched it while taking a poop and wanted to flush that statement down the toilet as well LOL. What a crock of s***. Soler and Almora doesn't get Quintana.
-
Ideally, trade Sale and Q to Boston and New York.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 07:21 PM) A cubs deal has to start with either Contreras or Schwarber. Schwarber actually makes a lot of sense as he really is a DH in waiting. If Collins could catch, that'd be two great young hitters. Schwarber can't play first?
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 06:57 PM) As they should given the organization's horrible track record of developing hitters True but I think that's changing now.
-
Prospects all have the bust potential. Tread carefully. Near ready prospects will headline the deal.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 06:45 PM) Kaplan isn't on his show today, but the panel is still drunk on Cubs kool aide. They said the Cubs wouldn't trade Schwarber straight up for Sale. That's an awful take by them....good God man.
-
QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 03:47 PM) Swihart has an injury history now and is not a major league catcher. I'd rather take my chances on Vazquez figuring out how to hit than Swihart suddenly becoming a great defensive catcher and pitch framer. It's not like Swihart was a very good offensive producer to begin with. That's why I always include Vasquez in my deals.

QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 11:39 AM) We all know the time is now for a rebuild. However, I agree-- it's really hard to trust Hahn and KW to get the necessary prospects back in return. I guess the only thing we can somewhat hold our hat onto is that Nick Hostetler seems to have a real good pulse on prospects. Since they will be avoiding the veteran acquisition route, this may work out after all. If i'm Hahn, i'm putting all my trust in Hostetler's judgement. This. I have all the faith in the world right now in Hostetler and co. to make this right.

Also need to remember he never played on great infields in the minors. I think that has something to do with struggles for infielders.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Nov 8, 2016 -> 09:11 PM) I'm not yet convinced. I mean if Hayes and Merkin are talking about it and Hayes did a CSN podcast for a half hour about it, then I'm a believer. Hayes normally is very tight lipped and doesn't tip things.
-
We're rebuilding. I'm not worried about that quote in the least.
