Rumor: Dodgers & Sox discussing Sale & Frazier
Bigsoxhurt35 replied to DirtySox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (hi8is @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 11:04 PM) I'd be stoked on that package. Move Quintana to Boston then for Benitendi, Kopech, and Groome. How sick would our future look with Urias, Groome, Kopech, Alvarez, Benitendi, Berlinger, Verdugo, Lux, and whatever else we get from eventually flipping Puig. Then move on and trade Robertson, Melky, Jones, Abreu, and even Easton if you can get a haul. It would literally be an unprecedented rebuild. I'm very excited to see what this farm system looks like in 2 months...hell could be a few weeks if this heats up like it seems like. -

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 10:46 PM) I really don't see Urias involved in a hypothetical Sale/Frazier. I think Friedman holds his ground there. However, I think a package like the following is possible. De Leon Bellinger Verdugo Alvarez Calhoun Barnes Sheffield That's four guys who could help at some point next year, along with three high-upside guys little further out. IMO, that's an absolute haul even if it's lacking that one blue chipper you'd ideally like. You absolutely get Urias back or no deal. He can hold whatever ground he wants. He won't get Sale without giving up Urias. -

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 10:08 PM) I'd hold off on that; let's see what the sox can do with this bunch. Move Q later, if necessary. And if you move him, it's a full rebuild, so move Eaton. If ya move Sale and Frazier, it's a full rebuild. No half-ass off-seasons. It's all-in or full blown rebuild. -

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 10:03 PM) This is making me upset and it hasn't even happened yet. I love Sale. But I love the White Sox more. They better not f*** this up. With his value, it'll be pretty hard not to really. Sale isn't the one I'm worried about. It's Quintana. -

Could Abreu and Nate Jones bring back Bregman in a trade with Houston? Probably not huh? -

So, a question I have, is Sale the domino that teams are going to wait to fall before making other big pitching trades? I.e. Justin Verlander -

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 08:16 PM) If we're trading Sale and Frazier to LAD, why not package Quintana and Abreu to Boston? Abreu to Boston makes A TON of sense man. Also another name for Boston is Nate Jones. They want an electric reliever. -
Listening to KC sports radio today, they went around the U.S. for a quick run around the sports of a few cities. Landed on Boston, and media guy said he'd rather give up Moncada for Sale than Benintendi.

Urias, Bellinger and De Leon need to be in this deal. I love all three of them. Now for both Sale and Frazier? I'd love to get Joc over Puig if that's even possible. Sale and Frazier to Dodgers Sox get Pederson, Urias, De leon, Bellinger, Verdugo, ++

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Nov 14, 2016 -> 02:50 AM) BP Boston offered up this trade of Frazier in a recent post.... Todd Frazier and Nate Jones to the Red Sox for... C Blake Swihart SS Mauricio Dubon SP Henry Owens RP Williams Jerez Not a terribly exciting return, but I think it's probably a fair one. Swihart we all pretty much know, Henry Owens used to be a top prospect, Dubon is 22 and hit .339 this season in 62 games in AA (stole 30 bases combined between A+ and AA), and Jerez is just kind of a throw-in reliever. No way in hell. I don't think I'd take that for Nate Jones alone. I'm not a fan of Owens. Swihart isn't a catcher. Don't know much about the other two however.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Nov 13, 2016 -> 04:39 PM) You aint getting De Leon, Bellinger and Puig for Eaton. You'd be lucky to get one of Bellinger or De Leon. I disagree strongly. Puig doesn't have a lot of value and is in need of change of scenery, thus why he's the last piece in the deal. Eaton can absolutely fetch those first two. -
Take this with a grain of salt right now because the market isn't there for him yet. Got to let Chapman and co. sign their deals.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Nov 13, 2016 -> 02:59 PM) I'd be so freaking stoked if this all happened. I'd gladly watch up lose 100 games in 17 and 90 in 18. Add in back to back top 5, maybe number 1 picks and we're back. -
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 13, 2016 -> 10:10 AM) I don't understand the urgency to do it right now. Like I've said and heard before, the CBA uncertainty is why you're seeing more moves this early into free agency.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Nov 13, 2016 -> 08:45 AM) I like the effort you put into it too much to knock any of the trades. However you did trade for Benintendi but he's not a starter in the OF ? He's arguably the best piece you got from the trades and ML ready. I sat for over an hour reading about prospects and who fits with us. I'd put him in AAA to get more seasoning. -

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Nov 13, 2016 -> 03:59 AM) I would try to deal Nate Jones separately, or at least include him in the Yankees trade and bring back Rutherford and a low level guy. Take Jones and Vazquez out of your Red Sox/Sale trade. I think that's a huge overpay for Abreu. I don't think his value is that high. I like the Quintana trade, but I feel the Adam Eaton trade is light. Add in 2B Willie Calhoun and SS Gavin Lux. Remove Puig. I agree and just included him to get the best possible package from Boston. -
QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Nov 13, 2016 -> 01:44 AM) I'll toss in another random tweet speculation that I saw.... Someone said maybe the Dodgers cleared Howie Kendrick out of the way to open up a Sale trade in which Lawrie is added in. That's intriguing at least. Where did you see it?

2016-2017 Off-season Plans (extensive)
Bigsoxhurt35 replied to ChiliIrishHammock24's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Here's my off-season plan (full rebuild) for our beloved ChiSox: Trades: Chris Sale and Nate Jones to the Boston Red Sox for OF Andrew Benintendi, RHP Eduardo Rodriguez, 3B Rafael Devers, 1B Sam Travis, OF Luis Alexander Basabe and C Christian Vazquez. FINALLY! The blockbuster deal we've all been waiting for. Red Sox get their ace and power arm they're looking for in their pen. DD caves and gives up the farm in this deal. Jose Quintana to the Washington Nationals for RHP Lucas Giolito, RHP Erick Fedde, and OF Andrew Stevenson. The Sox get Giolito after the Nats can't close the Sale deal and get the Sox second ace to help their quest in another postseason run at a World Series which is why they give up the prized young future star in Giolito. Jose Abreu to the Houston Astros for RHP Francis Martes, OF Kyle Tucker, RHP Albert Abreu. The Astros get the 1B they need to infuse their lineup. They're interested in Miggy as well but Abreu is younger and cheaper. Todd Frazier to the New York Mets for 1B Dominic Smith and RHP Justin Dunn. With David Wright's health uncertainty, the Mets acquire a power hitting 3B they need. David Robertson to the New York Yankees for RHP Domingo Acevedo and C Luis Torrens. Robertson is sent back to the Bronx to give them a familiar, cheaper alternative to Chapman and Jansen. Melky Cabrera to the Arizona Diamondbacks for 2B Domingo Leyba, SS Jack Reinheimer and C Ryan January. Sox get a nice return for Melky from a DBacks team that needs a LF. Adam Eaton to the Los Angeles Dodgers for 1B Cody Bellinger, RHP Jose De Leon, and OF Yasiel Puig. The Sox land 2 great young prospects and a change of scenery OFer with tremendous potential. Rotation: Pen: Shields RHP Putnam RHP Rodon LHP Petricka RHP Gonzalez RHP Jennings LHP Fulmer RHP Ynoa RHP Rodriguez LHP Hochevar RHP Storen RHP CP-Burdi LF-Yasiel Puig CF-Charlie Tilson RF-Rymer Liriano 3B-Matt Davidson SS-Tim Anderson 2B-Tyler Saladino 1B-James Loney DH-Justin Morneau C-Wilson Ramos/Christian Vazquez Bench: 4th OF, utility IF-Carlos Sanchez, Backup C-Christian Vazquez FA signings: P Drew Storen 1yr $7 million. Sox try to fix Storen as the set-up man for Burdi. P Luke Hochevar 1 yr $4 million. Depth to the bullpen. C Wilson Ramos 1yr $9 million. Sox take a worth while gamble on Ramos who likely won't return till April or May at the earliest. DH Justin Morneau 1yr $5 million. Sox bring back Morneau to fill the DH spot. 1B James Loney 1yr $5 million. Sox sign Loney to fill 1B void. Lineup: 1. Tilson CF 2. Saladino 2B 3. Puig LF 4. Morneau DH 5. Davidson 3B 6. Anderson SS 7. Loney 1B 8. Vazquez C 9. Liriano RF Rick Hahn and the scouting department help replenish the Sox farm into the best in baseball by adding 18 prospects. It'll be a rough few of seasons but he Sox will be competing for real this time when they're ready. The Sox wipe the slate clean of all the veterans and begin the rebuilding process. Sox make some FA moves to fill the roster out in a rebuilding season and in hopes some of them bounce back and are able to flip them at the deadline. Flame away boys! -
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Nov 12, 2016 -> 09:49 PM) He's definitely not coming back to the Sox and a non-tender seems pretty likely. Unfortunately for us, Brett Lawrie is an average at best baseball player who is consistently plagued by injury and makes a non-meaningless amount of money. Well I think we can all put 2 and 2 together between his tweets earlier and changing his avatar and bio on twitter. He's gone.
-
QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Nov 12, 2016 -> 09:35 PM) And who is that random twitter user? Besides, if it's "official", the White Sox would have posted it. This. I'm waiting for someone credible to confirm it.
-
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Nov 12, 2016 -> 09:31 PM) Surprised they couldn't get even an A ball lottery ticket. Has to be still injured and not ready for next year.
-
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Nov 12, 2016 -> 09:07 PM) What's our 40 man roster at? Non-tendering Lawrie would clear a spot if needed. Could hint at another major deal being in the works. Because of the CBA uncertainty, you're seeing a flurry of moves more quickly into the off-season than in previous years. I think we could see some deals with the ChiSox very soon.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Nov 12, 2016 -> 09:02 PM) Yeah, this pretty much confirms a Sale for Moncada+ trade is coming. Does it really? Or is that sarcasm?
