We never watched Cubs games when Harry was doing their games. I watched tons of Cub games during the Brickhouse years, of course always pulling for the team playing the Cubs. As a kid and starting to ride the L at 11 years old I probably saw 20 games at Wrigley with my boyhood chums before we finally made it to Comiskey in 1960 when we were 14.

Even my wife as she walked by the TV said how can you listen to this s%*# as Schriffen was singing the Nationwide song. She was a big Harry Caray fan.

Vargas puts us up 2-0 with a bomb, 16 homers and a nice even 60 RBI, who would have thunk it after last season. BTW, Do any of you know that Vargas made a swing change early on in the season.

He had a very respectable season in the field, not too good with the bat but still cranked out 9 homers and drove in 34 runs, not all that bad for our 5th outfielder. Maybe he can get his 10th homer today which would give us 7 guys in double digit homers. Good luck to him in his retirement.

Saturday AM matches over as Europe adds to their lead which is now 8.5- 3.5. Its going to take a miracle for the USA to win this years Ryder Cup. They need to sweep the PM matches. matches.

It was embarrassing as the Sox blew an 8-2 lead, I’m amazed they actually came back and won it.

At the end of play on day1 Europe wound up with a 5.5–2.5 lead. The USA is going to have to play better on Saturday, Scheffler and DeChambeau did not win a point.

2025 Ryder Cup is underway at Bethpage Black in NY. Europe beat the USA in today’s AM matches 3-1. The USA has to do better in the PM matches.

Obviously doesn’t trust his stuff.
