I put a lot of stock in where guys in the complex leagues hit in the lineup. Burrowes is hitting first in the ACL, Jimenez and Bennett are 3/4, Nunez Jr. is hitting third. That tracks with at least their managers think they're pretty good. So, I'm a little concerned that $1 mil bonus guy Erick Hernandez hit 9th last night and struck out 3 of his 4 at bats. Sample size, but that is not an arrow up position to hit in the order.
  2. Line up out, no Burger. When you have no OBP, it is nice to have a guy who might run into one. I have been one of the biggest Moncada defenders on this board, but right now he’s giving you little/nothing offensively. Sox can’t afford to punt c, 3b, ss, 2b, and power in left. How are they supposed to score?
  3. 2 run HR Godwin Bennett. 5-2.
  4. Sox 24 year-old starter got hammered in the second, they trail 5-0
  5. Carlos Jimenez reached on an error, then Bennett and Ronny H walked, and Arxy H. grounded into a forceout. 0 runs.
  6. First two batters (Burrowes and Tapia) struck out against the 24 year-old pitching against them.
  7. Ryan Burrowes, all three Hernandezes (Arxy 3b, Erick LF, and Ronny, c) Carlos Jimenez and Godwin Bennet both have power, and I am intrigued by Arnold Prado, cf. He hit well in the DSL but has shown that much pop yet.
  8. Ha ha, I am not, but I am going to the game on Thursday.
  9. No one is terrible when facing the Sox lineup.
  10. Twins next embark on the Rays and Jays road trip. Those teams are not as hot as when the Sox saw them, but this could be the moment when the Central has no teams above .500.

Haseley 4-4 w/2bb and a walk-off 3 run HR. He is so close to being a competent mlb player.
  12. WTF is he swinging at?
  13. Man, this guy throws no strikes ever.
  14. Huh, I would have bunted Romy and pinch hit for Andrus.
  15. Lange in. They absolutely need to make him throw strikes.

Pallette struggled with his control 2.2IP 2H 1R 1ER 3bb 4K relieved by Yohemy Nolasco who has also struggled with control, but showed good stuff 2IP 0H 0R 0ER 3bb 4K.
  17. 1bb 12K, par for the course.

Elko 2 HR, 5 rbi so far in Kanny's regularly scheduled game.
  19. Nice outing from Kopech. Even the pitch he gave up the homer on wasn't that bad.

So Kelley struck out the first 2 guys in his third inning and then walked the next 3, his final line: 2.2 0H 0R 0ER 3bb 6K. Encouraging despite the rough ending.
  21. They went right around Vaughn.
  22. That is a quality at bat from Burger right there. You don't have to throw the ball anywhere near the plate. But you know the old saying, "You can't walk from St. Louis."
  23. I think this is on the scouting/players. Sox need to completely rethink their entire front office set up. I will give Shirley credit for Montgomery. He seems to have a good handle on the strike zone. Also, Tatum knows how to give a good at bat, otherwise the Sox minors are loaded with guys who swing at everything too.

4Ks in 2IP so far for Kelley. They may have found his niche.
