9/4 Games
I imagine they will come in at 38 or 39. My list has 8 questionable players identified. I’m sure other posters might suggest 3 or 4 other names. I don’t think they are going to be too squeezed.

This is my first pass at an offseason 40 man. Question marks are guys that are on the bubble/cuttable as they add free agents or prepare for the Rule 5 draft. White Sox @ Twins; Ellard vs Bradley
Taylor has to have the worst batted ball luck in Sox history.
-
MLB tankathon
So, 10. Rockies 11. Nationals 12. Angels 13. Cardinals?
-
White Sox @ Twins; Gomez vs Matthews
Woo! Twins suck worse than us!
-
White Sox @ Twins; Gomez vs Matthews
In retrospect, Venable should have done what I assumed he was going to do and that's leave Taylor in after throwing 12 pitches.
-
White Sox @ Twins; Gomez vs Matthews
Well, this has not started well. Gonna need some good fortune to get out of this one.
-
White Sox @ Twins; Gomez vs Matthews
Wow. Proves what I know. Go Sox!
-
White Sox @ Twins; Gomez vs Matthews
This is mystifying. He's literally the worst hitter on the team and he has been ice cold lately.
-
White Sox @ Twins; Martin vs Woods-Richardson 6:40 pm CST
Button not going anywhere. He has a full no trade and stated repeatedly he won’t waive it.
-
White Sox @ Twins 1:10 PM
Good comeback win. Alexander zooms to 5-13.
-
White Sox @ Twins 1:10 PM
I missed that Taylor was in for Mead. Oops.
-
White Sox @ Twins 1:10 PM
Hmm, why would Elko run for Tauchman? Why not Michael A. Taylor? Is Ramos gonna play RF?
-
White Sox @ Twins 1:10 PM
Tauchman follows it up. Suddenly 3-11 w/RISP
-
White Sox @ Twins 1:10 PM
Ther you go, Brooks!
-
White Sox @ Twins 1:10 PM
Alexander entering a game is a signal that Venable is giving up and preserving arms for tomorrow. He manages like every contest is game 7 of… Spring Training. He is not trying hard to win.
-
White Sox @ Twins 1:10 PM
Alexander getting ready for loss number 14, which is really impressive considering how many innings he’s pitched.
-
White Sox @ Twins 1:10 PM
Another recipe for losing baseball: 1-8 w/RISP, 2 errors, 5 bb. No wonder they’re gonna drop an amazing 230 games in a two year span.
-
White Sox @ Twins 1:10 PM
Booser is gonna have a hard time surviving at 93-94. Wasn’t he at 97-98 earlier this year?
-
White Sox @ Twins 1:10 PM
Quero got screwed on that at bat.
-
White Sox @ Twins 1:10 PM
To be fair, both those guys were in AAA 2 weeks ago. Also, Katz mostly works with the starters. I think they gotta fire Matt Wise after two awful years from the bullpen

White Sox @ Twins 1:10 PM
Ellard’s stuff looked really good. Obviously you can’t walk 3 of the 9 guys you face. Gonna be interesting to see if Mead can actually play 3b. Or does Ramos, who is a much better defender, get a shot down the stretch.

Clevinger: Still in Charlotte
He deserves better. Sox have struggled with lefty relief all year. I think he is one of their best 14.
-
Clevinger: Still in Charlotte
Oops, didn’t see they adde Ellard and Ramos. You are right. Probably DFA Bryce to add Clevinger.
-
Clevinger: Still in Charlotte
They don’t need to DFA anyone to select Clevinger. Rosters are up to 28 now. To not add a pitcher before today’s game is malpractice, but the Sox have proven that they are willing to play short-handed.
