In retrospect, Venable should have done what I assumed he was going to do and that's leave Taylor in after throwing 12 pitches.

This is mystifying. He's literally the worst hitter on the team and he has been ice cold lately.

To be fair, both those guys were in AAA 2 weeks ago. Also, Katz mostly works with the starters. I think they gotta fire Matt Wise after two awful years from the bullpen

Ellard’s stuff looked really good. Obviously you can’t walk 3 of the 9 guys you face. Gonna be interesting to see if Mead can actually play 3b. Or does Ramos, who is a much better defender, get a shot down the stretch.

He deserves better. Sox have struggled with lefty relief all year. I think he is one of their best 14.

They don’t need to DFA anyone to select Clevinger. Rosters are up to 28 now. To not add a pitcher before today’s game is malpractice, but the Sox have proven that they are willing to play short-handed.
