  1. First I have seen of Santos. Impressive.
  2. On the bright side, now I can be against him for baseball reasons.
  3. No way that call on Eloy was actually a strike. Robo umps cannot come soon enough.
  4. Worst ab of the Spring for Colas. You got a guy who does not get anyone out in the strike zone and Colas expands zone against him. Hopefully he files that one away.
  5. Ha ha. Gomes kills the Sox. In an actual game, one hopes they would have made him beat them on the breaking ball.
  6. One thing I have not heard about with the new rules: the ratio of commercials to game is like 1:1. Kinda sucks.
  7. Why would the Sox want Michael Busch? He cannot play 2b, and they already have plenty of 1b/DH types.
  8. Sox now 1-7 with RISP and 6 LOB. Midseason form against Cleveland. Obviously, they'll be a different team with Moncada, Robert, Eloy, TA and Vaughn, though.
  9. Neto will be the Angels ss by July.
  10. Woo! He hits them in bunches.
  11. The dreaded forearm strain sounds bad, but the Yankees do not sound concerned.
  12. Moncada didn’t defect, right? Cuba allowed him to play in the States. That was during a brief thaw in relations.
  13. Until the ball is hit to third.
  14. Ramos has barely played in AA. I doubt there is any chance he earns a spot legit or otherwise in spring training. Moncada may not be the starter in 2024, but I think he's safe for this year.
  15. It’s a new game: Words with Enemies.
  16. If Colas, I think it’s Zavala, Leury, Romy, and ???. I could imagine them sending Sheets down cuz there are no at bats for him. Gun to my head, I think that last guy would be Hamilton, but it could be Hansel. Romy can play 7 spots which gives you incredible flexibility for that last spot. obviously, if Colas is sent down, Sheets is in the starting line up as DH or, gulp, their every day RF. Then they have to decide how they’re platooning. Does Burger make it as a platoon DH? Or do they go Marisnick as a platoon RF?
  17. Shaw has nothing. Got out of the inning, but it was all on cunning and guile.
  18. I think how high they are on Burrowes demonstrates a) how they like to bet on young players with upside and b) a lack of belief in the middle tier of Sox prospects. At any rate, Kanny will be an interesting follow if some of those DSL guys make it there.
  19. Sox could do that with Romy or Leury in the outfield and Robert with either Colas or Benintendi. Or, you know, Billy Hamilton.
  20. I wonder, based on Abreu’s comments last Spring, if he knew he was out the door all of last year and that he’s hurt feelings permeated the entire clubhouse. A leader’s feelings can be contagious be they positive or negative.
  21. Wow. I know it's only 2 games, but this team really knows how to crush fan interest and optimism. They currently have the same number of runs that they have dropped pop ups. It's earl, but I stopped listening to this game in the second inning and it appears I missed nothing.
  22. 4 games in Houston and then the home opener. They’re not dumb enough to let Clevinger start the opener are they? Knowing the Sox, they’ll do that and then name a baby changing station after him. I would start him in Houston and give the Home Opener to someone the fans want to see like Kopech, or Gio.
  23. Personally, I think Gio refuses to use it as an excuse, but he just wasn’t the same after he got COVID. If he’s fully healthy, I’m expecting a good year.
