Sox @ Cards 5/4, belated game thread
Shewmake is making whatever decision the Sox are soon going to have to make on him very, very easy.

Ramos getting called up
I was in that camp, but he was such a menace on defense that he was eventually gonna run into somebody. Add to it that Pedro hates the young guys, I can understand why they might want to go with a clean slate. That said, it is hard to imagine Ramos hitting right away. He has been in-between for most of the year. Hopefully, his current hot streak indicates he's found his approach and is going to stick with it.

Ramos getting called up
This is so bad for my favorite team: The Birmingham Barons. The Sox are a lost cause. Sign Rance Mulliniks and be done with it.

2024 - MLB Draft Thread
- Berroa being recalled
The only thing we know for sure is it cannot be Dominic Leone. He has shown them nothing in Spring or in April and yet... Leone must have a drawer full of damning stuff on the entire management structure.- 4/27 Games
Gonzalez out on an absolute bullet to the first baseman. Continue to be encouraged.- 4/27 Games
Schultz is done. Shane Murphy makes his season debut in relief.- 4/27 Games
- Getz: Record “frustrating” but rebuilding takes time
Grifol is "steady." The Sox under him have sucked in cold weather, hot weather, earl in the season, late in the season. Young players have sucked, old players have sucked. teady as they come.- 4/26 Games
Sox win 3 of 4 and Kanny had the tying and go ahead runs on in the ninth. There is a lot of pitching in the system, so they are in most every game. It is a refreshing change from the last few years. Maybe after the draft and ACL season ends, they will be able to get rid of the useless 35+ veterans and mix in some actual prospects.- 4/26 Games
Eder with a nice night 7IP 4H 2R 2ER 2bb 9k.- Pham up, Pillar out
Pham is startin in cf. The of defense is going to be historic.- Pham up, Pillar out
Please collect all the washed up and never were 30+ year old outfielders. Forget Birmingham being the future of the Sox. I bet they could beat the mlb team is a 7 game series now.- Pham up, Pillar out
He's not great, but at least Pillar can actually play centerfield. The Sox have now assembled the worst defensive outfield I can remember for this team, and that's saying something. Eloy, Pham, Grossman, Benintendi, and Pham are all DHs. Fletcher is way better in right. So much for prioritizing defense.- 4/25 Games
You really have not seen the player, have you? Comparing 27 year old Ben Zobrist in the majors at 200+ lbs to 22-23 year old Brooks Baldwin who is still around 185 lbs is just crazy. A) They are very different players. B) Ben Zobrist did not develop power until the majors. Zobrist NEVER had double digit HR in the minors. Baldwin hit double digits (15) in his first full professional season. I get it. It is always smart to bet the under on every single fricking prospect from every fricking team. Half of the top 100 are gonna bust every year. Jackson Holliday is about to get sent back down. But unlike the gamethreads that deserve the unlimited negativity they engender, in the minors forum, we like to keep it positive. I mean, to suggest a guy hitting .460 better hope he can be a pinch runner is about as wet blanket as it gets.- 4/25 Games
Ha ha. Have you seen him play? Kid can hit.- 4/25 Games
Sosa needs Charlotte to get an mlb club.- 4/25 Games
Baldwin 2-2. Bunt hit and a 2-rbi single. Currently he's hitting .450. Lotta babip luck, but still...- Tommy Pham close to deal with White Sox
Oh boy. The turnaround begins now.- It was a great career, Jose, but what's up this season?
Absolutely. But they replaced him with Vaughn, so…- 4/24 Games
Sox go 4-0 for the second consecutive day.- 4/24 Games
Baldwin just got robbed of his 4th hit. Great play by the 2b.- 4/24 Games
I have watched him a lot since he was drafted. Just a good baseball player. Balanced swing from both sides. Probably better with a little more juice as a lefty. Controls the zone pretty well. Above average speed, but not a burner like Ellis. Can put a charge into the ball for a skinnier guy. His second double tonight was crushed. Good defender in both the infield and the outfield. Has played 7 positions as a pro. OK at short and centerfield. Better at 2b, 3b, and the corners. Was the MVP of the mid-major Colonial Athletic league where he played 2b. His Dad was a prominent player for Clemson back in the day.- 4/24 Games
Barons lead 6-1. Baldwin 3-4 with 2 doubles. Currently hitting .439- 4/24 Games
I haven't given up on him yet. He's off to a slow start because he had an injury for most of the spring. Kath is 2-2 in this game and has been hitting a little better lately. - Berroa being recalled
