John Danks should never start for the White Sox again
shysocks replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Dan Hayes @CSNHayes 49s50 seconds ago Robin Ventura said John Danks will start again on Wednesday. #WhiteSox are off on Monday. Jose Quintana would go Tuesday vs. Boston. *tomato flies past head* -

QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 08:20 PM) Petricka seems to get worse every year. He's been bad but it's hard to blame him for this inning. Lawrie booted a ball, he gave up that tapper that stayed fair, and I know this sounds like an excuse, but between the framing and the "wild pitch," Hector Sanchez is putting on a clinic for how not to play the catcher position. -

QUOTE (shysocks @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 10:17 AM) I have been to the future. The Sox win 5-2 tonight. Pretty good guess. -

Anybody needs an example of bad framing, watch that 1-1 pitch again. -

QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 07:34 PM) Has he done anything to clean up his delivery to locate pitches better or add new pitches to get guys out? He hasn't been good for a long time now. Looks like he's just out there to collect his paycheck. This is a bad post. -

I've been team Danks, but that was assuming he could just be like he was the last couple years. Right now his stuff looks so much worse than that. I'm afraid the well's run dry, and I'm getting ready to abandon ship. -

Danks can't locate at all rn. If he gives us 5 tonight it'll be a miracle. -
Hawk specifically says anybody accusing Arrieta of using is a disgrace to the game. Hope you're all happy.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 02:57 PM) RIP to his dad. Who do you guys think the closer will be while he's away? Jones seems like the most likely candidate, but I wouldn't mind Albers getting a shot either. Probably Jones. Robin could go to Petricka too if he doesn't want to upset the rest of the pen's pecking order. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 02:58 PM) Thought I read it's his father-in-law It's possible. I only based what I said on a picture the Sox twitter replied to of him standing next to an older guy. Apologies for the misinformation if this is the case.

OBP's in today's Cubs lineup, current as I type this. .489 .337 .359 .363 .398 .400 .338 .367 .308

Y'all are overreacting a little. It's possible to feel bad for Robertson without specifically mentioning it in a post on a message board, while still being bummed as a fan that he's out for the series. I don't think anyone said anything particularly insensitive.
-
Also, losing our lockdown closer = Sox are still cursed in Baltimore.
-
Reason for the move seems to be the death of Robertson's father. Basing this on a picture Robertson tweeted.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 10:47 AM) I broke my leg, and the season was basically ova. So that common expression is bulls***.

QUOTE (God Loves The Infantry @ Apr 27, 2016 -> 10:19 PM) The Nationals lost tonight, meaning the Sox and Cubs have the two best records in baseball. So, stat geeks, has that ever happened, after some minimum threshold like 20 games? It didn't in 1906, since the NL second place Giants had a better record than us... Fortunately the Tribune has a very recent article about them having the best records in their leagues. It was 1973. Season did not end well for either team. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0427-story.html

Dan Hayes @CSNHayes 3m3 minutes ago It's raining in Baltimore. Weather app says 25% chance at 7 pm EST, 45% at 8 & 30% from there. Sat night isn't good, either. Sun = horrible.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 09:30 AM) What does that mean? Team's ERA adjusted for park and league. 100 is average for that year, anything lower is better. The '93 Braves had a 75 ERA-, which is the lowest full season number since 1944. If any team manages to beat that, it would be a historic achievement.
-
Four teams in MLB, including the Sox, have a lower ERA- than the 1993 Braves, who hit 75. Sox are the only AL team. Maybe one of the four pulls it off full season. The pitcher fWAR leaderboard over the last calendar year. AL goes Sale, Price, Keuchel, Quintana.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Apr 27, 2016 -> 10:47 PM) Put this on the bulletin board Q That was Donaldson letting it fly post game. feels good man, for once it's the Sox leaving other teams second guessing themselves and reeling. They need to shore up their sign-stealing technique.
