QUOTE (The Critic @ Dec 15, 2011 -> 03:39 PM) Can't think of ten albums from this year, much less ten favorites. Very dull year for music to me. On a happier note, I grabbed my tickets the other day for The Darkness at Metro in February! Love those guys, so happy they're back - I CAN'T WAIT! Old Man...

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 15, 2011 -> 10:19 AM) They could be right back on top next year if their 2 MVP's play like MVP's. I have serious doubts that either will be the same player they once were ever again. Concussions are nothing to mess with and can end careers. One fastball that gets away from a pitcher high and tight. A takeout slide on a double play. A collision at home. Anyone of those things could end Morneau's career and you know he's thinking about it. Mauer, even when healthy after the move to Target Field lost all his power and now he's breaking down health wise behind the plate. You either have to move him to first, and move Morneau to DH or vice versa

I would have no problem with the Twins slipping into another decade or so of irrelevance after their run recently...

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 03:53 PM) I think he can get back on track. Too much talent and a strong desire to make it work - not to Supposedly the first two guys to the park every single day last year were Pierre and Walker....sometimes desire isn't enough if the talent doesn't shine through.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 14, 2011 -> 03:11 PM) You missed Quentin... he's the most notorious head case of them all. I'm not counting him since bones are more fragile than his head....
-
1/3 of the Sox starting line-up (Beckham, Dunn, Rios) are these seemingly fragile head cases. I really hope the Ozzie/Walker combo being gone helps them in some way, since mental issues can be helped by little things like that...

Joe's an idiot, but, well, Gordon is pretty obviously in his head and has been for 2 seasons now... Went from a guy mashing to all fields to a guy who can't hit a BP fastball anymore.

2011-12 White Sox off season catch all thread
Cali replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'm talking about MLB.TV specifically since it's cheaper and gives me access to games on my phone and computer as well as through Apple TV onto my flatscreen. But, I'm not well off at all money wise so if I can save $25 a month by not watching a horrible baseball team (even if that team is my favorite) I'm gonna do it. In the end it's just sports, it's not that important to me as, say, paying my bills haha -
2011-12 White Sox off season catch all thread
Cali replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I figured out what I'm gonna do next season as to whether or not I get the baseball package (assuming they don't go full rebuild, in which case I'll get it for sure). I'm gonna wait out April. The last two seasons combined in April they are playing 13 games below .500. In May-Sept/Oct: 23 games over .500. -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 13, 2011 -> 01:59 PM) I'm all for giving Axelrod a chance if Danks, Floyd or both are traded. It would give us a better shot at the #1 pick in the '13 draft. Are there any projections on who are the best players in the 2013 Draft? Haha
-
Guess I gotta take Braun off my list of guys I use when complaining about the White Sox inability to draft and develop super-star talent...
-
Ha! Awesome. I put Mr. Burns on my list as a total thinking-outside-the box kinda choice, but I see other did as well...

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 9, 2011 -> 02:08 PM) I'm not a big fan of Cahill, I think his 2010 season had a bit of smoke & mirrors tint to it. The hitters were so baffled by his resemblance to Bobby Hill that they just couldn't hit the ball with any authority...

Parity... I'm an ass.

the Yankees did finally buy a championship in 2009, only after failing to win one after trying to buy one every seasons from 2002-2008... The Red Sox and Phillies spent the most $$$ last off-season as well and were declared the favorites and we had a Rangers/Cardinals World Series. And look at the Heat and Eagles in the NBA and NFL... I think the era of buying a championship is gone. The parody is every sport is too good...

QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 02:32 PM) De Aza Ramirez Quentin Konerko Dunn Viciedo Rios Beckham Morel So.... who's catching?
-
FYI World's Greatest Manager Ozzie Guillen apparently can't name anyone on the Phillies roster...

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 07:40 AM) JJStankevitz JJ Stankevitz Damn. That really is. RT @ChrisSpurlock @JJStankevitz Yeah. He'll put in equal time in Cards/Angels uniforms. So weird. Gotta imagine he'll go into the Hall with a Cardinals hat... but ask me again in 10 years haha
-
If this happened only one year prior I would make a comment about how this guy would come back and bite us, but did you guys SEE the 2011 Minnesota Twins season? Not only was the caliber of player(s) horrendous and the health of their biggest superstars deteriorated, but that usual Twins magic and luck with seemingly anyone they called up and the home field advantage: GONE. The White Sox and Twins will be in a battle next year, but it won't be first they're fighting for...

So Kenny comes to the meetings late, and is leaving early? Great...
-
QUOTE (Real @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 02:09 PM) nope, Reinsdorf is too big of a f***ing idiot for it to happen. Kenny's probably thinking to himself "LOL, I can't believe I still have a job. Hahahahahahah!" Not what I meant.

NOW it's Go Time for Kenny

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 12:52 PM) How is Reyes not part of the Big 4? Pujols and Wilson deals are on the verge. He signed before the meetings started.
