I agree but I like the idea of having at leat one starter with prime velocity.

I know Hagan is trending that direction but not sure about Taylor. Taylor would have to develop another pitch perhaps? I feel like we are the only mlb team that doesn't have a fire balling starting pitcher. OF course we need a real closer from somewhere.

Does Colston wear contacts? have glasses? anyone know? I'm kind of serious - I can't remember ever seeing a batter that sees the ball worse. He is freaky athletic so when he connects its often a rocket - but the inability to see the path of the ball is as extreme as I can remember.

Venable sending the runner with a guy who is like 2nd or 3rd in the mlb in strikeouts was also rich.

I would not let colston swing 3-0 for awhile after that. Caused his entire at bat to spiral.

Parts of the year I thought I saw some improvement on plate discipline and some other fundamental areas. Friday night All-Ass pounding. Mead is the type of player that represents why I will never purchase white sox game tickets. A player you insert into the lineup when you are trying to lose and no he has no future. This team has almost completely destroyed the good will it had created early 2nd half of the season. Just a quick vent - this guy never gets his ass out there to defend his players when they get screwed by the ump. Was waiting to see if it was a trend or not and certainly is. I kind of liked this guy earlier, but he is losing me fast.

I like some of the younger players we have out there, but there are some other real head scratchers. Capra is horrible. Glove might be good but can't be putting a guy with a career 357 OPS out there on a team that can't score as is.
