  1. I think he still has another good 2-3 years left.
  2. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 05:48 PM) The Mets are closer and he would start. He would start with the Cubs too?
  3. QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 05:22 PM) Think maybe Nova is involved? I think the Cubs want controllable pitching. Nova is a free agent after this year.
  4. Guessing we have made some calls on some players we have yet to be connected to publicly and yet want Anderson back in trades.
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 05:05 PM) I'm going to guess he may get 16 per thou, but can't imagine 4 years Enough teams want him. 4 years wouldn't be shocking.
  6. Anyone who takes him is a sucker. It's amazing the Tigers got out from most of under that weight (ha).
  7. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 03:22 PM) Heyward's defense would be wasted in left field which is a good part of his attraction Think he meant left.
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 03:17 PM) After that Angels tweet, another one that they are talking about moving calhoun to RF for Heyward. Heyward Trout Calhoun....yiiikes Calhoun already plays right. I think you mean left.
  9. Yeah I think I'd rather keep Rodon if it was 1 for 1. I could see dealing Fulmer and other arms for him since they aren't proven. Just don't know if the Marlins would do it.
  10. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 12:09 PM) It won't happen, but imagine if he came to the Sox and what the rotation would look like afterwards? Sale/Fernandez/Quintana/Rodon/Fulmer Wow. I imagine Fulmer would be part of a deal among others.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 11:22 AM) The Sox have control of Sale though 2019. With the nagging fear of serious injury, and the regular nagging injuries keeping that have followed him around annually, I wouldn't be looking to extend him unless it was incredibly team friendly with options. Yep. So in other words not happening.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 09:45 AM) If the Sox were to sign this guy, I sure hope they wouldn't be paying for his career year. I don't see many teams being in on him. I bet Lawrie gets traded and Freese signs somewhere before he signs (one of those guys may go to us).
  13. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 09:48 AM) Nightengale tweeted that they were looking to move him to re-allocate the money towards a bat. Nowhere does it say anything about eating $$. Reinsdorf settled for Leury Garcia in return for Rios because Texas took the $$. They don't eat $$ in trades. Doesn't say in the tweet they're looking to move all.
  14. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 09:18 AM) Phil Rogers ‏@philgrogers 2m2 minutes ago #WhiteSox exploring Japanese 3B Nobuhiro Matsuda. He hit a career-high 35 homers last year for #Softbank. Well timed move to US. How many teams are actually still looking for a 3B? I can't think of many and it seems like there are enough options to go around between Lawrie, Matsuda, Freese being available.
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 09:17 AM) He turned 36 last month. He is a year younger than John Lackey. That's it? I thought he was older for some reason. Thanks for the info. Still doubt he bounces back significantly though.
  16. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 08:37 AM) LaRoche is definitely a guy who could benefit from a change in scenery. Also recall, even Dunn bounced back pretty big, and he was older as I recall. But the Sox would need to kick in some money, no doubt. It's hard to compare the LaRoche situation to Dunn's since he's what 38 now? He could just be finished.
  17. I want them to go all in over the next 2 years. If we're in the same position we're in now 2 years from now, blow it up. Get the max return for Sale, Q, Abreu, Eaton and commit to a rebuild.
  18. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 08:21 AM) At least for me, it's hard to compare Sale to the old timers (Walsh, Lyons, Faber, etc) because I never saw those guys play. Not to mention that the game was completely different back then. It's hard to compare guys of today to guys long ago due to the fact back then you had 3 and 4 man rotations and guys used to pitch a whole more. Some guys would even throw double-headers. The kinda stuff you will never see again. Definitely a different game now.
  19. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 08:24 AM) Man they have some dumbass fans Unfortunately every team has fans who think that way. And you would think they'd know better since they had Samardzija in 2014 with like 2 wins over half a season despite pitching better.
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 8, 2015 -> 07:46 AM) Yes but Konerko was the 25th man on a team not trying to contend. Spending your last dollars on Adam LaRoche coming off the season he had would really cause some anger. There are other options for teams with cheaper players with question marks. I think LaRoche can bounce back. I know he is supposed to be good in the clubhouse. I just don't see how another team is going to take more than a million or so, if that, to take him off your hands. In Pitt he could make sense as he could hit 7th playing excellent d. They'd probably have interest but we'd likely have to eat close to 10 million is my guess. Plus he's been there before.
  21. Pirates are the only team that makes sense in my opinion.
  22. QUOTE (Lillian @ Dec 7, 2015 -> 09:55 PM) OK, so what does the first 6 spots in your lineup look like, with Hayward? Depends on corresponding moves too (who's gone out of Garcia, LaRoche, Melky?).
  23. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 7, 2015 -> 09:46 PM) The incident with Puig happened in a night club so we all know the joys of alcohol. I mean geez, a fight in a night club, go figure. Unheard of haha
  24. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 7, 2015 -> 09:39 PM) No offense to Buehrle, but from a pure talent standpoint, I believe that Sale is much, much better. I'd go as far as to say that Sale is one of the best pitchers to ever wear a White Sox uniform. Yeah Sale is much better than Buehrle but Buehrle was still loved here and very consistent. Plus I loved that Buehrle's starts would be around 2 hours (went to a game once that ended up being about an hour 40 mins haha)
  25. QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 7, 2015 -> 09:35 PM) no offense, but that i do not believe will happen. he will get his money... if he waits and no raises. starting at 30 mil. Oh yeah I know know it won't happen. That would be the only chance. We've been terrible, he took low pay once from us, no reason for him to do us any favors.
